“By the time we'd made our way to the molten surface of Mustafar, it was apparent that Dellso had been a busy little bug. All by his lonesome, he'd found a previously hidden droid factory, fired it up and cranked out his own private army of battle droids. Needless to say, this got the men of the 501st...a little hot under the helmet, and not just because of all that lava. Truth be told we'd all had our fill of those gear heads during the war, and we couldn't stomach the thought of going through another one. So we blew them up. Blew up the droids, blew up the factory, damn near blew up the planet."

What was the average alien's view of the fact that the Republic used cloned human slaves as their army. Was it another example of human dominance, relief that their species wasn't the template, confusion that humans would treat their own as disposable or something else. As well as the fact that there are other species that make better warriors than humans that could've been used as the template.

If some people had thousands of clones who grew up in different backgrounds and environments, it would make for some very interesting scientific studies
@maudrysilvain5905
@maudrysilvain5905 4 года назад
One that can be interesting with the clones is altought they grew in the same environnement (Kamino) they served on different units (212th; 41st etc etc...) with different generals (Bro-koon, Obi-wan, Pong Krell) fought different battles (Mygeeto; Kashyyyk, Geonosis) they grew differently in the war and so a study of the impact of all those 3 parameters on the mental of the clone is interesting if you're not a dick like palpatine who retired clone troopers after order 66 like a pair of thorn socks.
@marcbartuschka6372
@marcbartuschka6372 4 года назад
@@maudrysilvain5905 I do not think that he retires them that way, at least not all. In rebels even 15 years after the birth of the Empire a imperial officer offers three old clones a chance to serve as instructors if I remember right, and I am sure that many others served in a similar way. They were just not THAT many in such a huge galaxy. To create the new Corps you needed a lot of instructors, and loyal clones very likely made a huge part of that in the first five or so years of the Empire.

Aymeric De Ascalon Well, the Republic was known to send Death Squads after clones who decided they’d had enough and deserted the Grand Army of the Republic. Well 99 was assigned to a janitorial/maintenance position on Kamino, so it’s not that much of a stretch to assume that wounded clones who could not fight anymore got similar treatment. Also, I think the Republic put a lot of effort into treating injured clones, considering the number of medical stations, medical droids,and medic clones we see throughout the clone wars.

I think you're missing the whole point of Star Wars. The Jedi are not the good guys in Star Wars, and never have been. They just embrace the idea that they are, whilst time and again proving to be a corruptible, untrustworthy order of people detached from the very people they claim to protect. That's the whole point of the Jedi in the context of the story, it's what drove people like Count Dooku to the Sith and laid the seeds for Anakin's fall. The Sith are the bad guys in the context of that they use the dark side, and revel in the idea of being a slave to their passions. They're evil, yes, but that's mostly because of the kind of person a sith has to be to survive in the midst of other Sith. Upholding the rule of two, embodying hatred and disposing of mercy, it's all very distasteful, but the Jedi have always clung to the opposing extremes, and this is even a plot point as early as Episodes 5 and 6, represented in the flaws the story presents in Yoda and Obi Wan's instruction. The Jedi has always been a corrupt institution and the point of Star Wars is to examine the things they've done and allowed, whilst doing the same with the Sith, and asking "What's the difference between these two flawed ideologies?"

A pragmatic Clone army (not set up to corrupt and destroy the Jedi, but just to win wars) would've had a clone commander class. Selected clones that show aptitude (or a separate production run) trained to be Generals, strategist and leaders by the best of the Republic War colleges. The Jedi would then be used in the military as elite special ops and specialist (inducing in intelligence), and only get command if _they earned it_ and had the training. The only issue is that a randomness factor would have to be included in the clone general's training so they wouldn't be easy to predict. And maybe a few more templates could be used? A strategic genius and a excellent soldier are two different things, and physical ability is not needed in a control room, unless it's really going wrong.
@Darkseh
@Darkseh 4 года назад
Issue is that Clones like droids tended to be very predictable. But they would definitely be better. What I would do is keep Jedi near leadership by being sort of second in command, only attaining full command after certain amount of combat. Jedi would also provide certain level of moral decision making so that clones don't become full on machines of war not caring about local populace.

Just a thought: What if the 1st battle of Geonosis presented in ATC wasn't deliberately written to be a condemnation of Jedi hubris and incompetence, but was just a case of George Lucas being bad at visualising military strategy? All the battles _he_ wrote feature stupid tactics and strategies - Hoth, Naboo, Endor. Maybe he just can't write good military fiction from a professional soldier's perspective, but only for a visually exciting film sequence. ie Never let George Lucas plan a attack or raid… Still could be worse, Micheal Bay would just use the biggest bomb available and blow up national monuments with it. His opening move if asked to consult on an Iranian invasion would be to drop a daisy cutter on Mt. Rushmore. …

I always found it weird that the Kaminoans hadn't found a way to accelerate aging until 18 and then slow it down to normal speed (or even slower) so that they are kept in prime fighting age for as long as they could. Considering that the Kaminoans history was oriented around getting genetically perfect beings, I'm surprised that they didn't attempt to make a fighting force that lasts in prime condition longer.

Could also be a marketing strategy. Why should they bother if the clones get older faster - they were never created to serve more than five to ten years or so. With the high amount of losses, demand was certain, and if some day the clones would not be able to fight any more, well their creators could make more.

Interesting thought for the new clone wars episodes: Non clone’s family and home gets destroyed by droids while they’re away on a mercenary mission. Clones come to fight the droids but they ultimately get wiped out, though the droids suffer extremely high casualties as well. The non clone helps a wounded clone that dies after a short while and then takes the clone’s armor and weapon and goes and kills the remaining droids in a fit of rage. Clone reinforcements arrive, and somehow the non clone gets onto the ship with the clones, and when it’s quickly discovered that the non clone is, well, not a clone, the clones decide to drop them off at the next planet. They all get ambushed and the non clone fights pretty great. Since they’ve suffered heavy casualties, they decide to keep the non clone around for a while. At first the clones are suspicious and disrespectful until they slowly get used to the non clone.

Why doesn’t anyone mention that the Non-Clone Officers Generally tended to be worse than the Jedi as people like then Captain Ozzel fucked up gains made by the Jedi only to be promoted to Admiral and given a fleet. Tarkin was only a small group of capable officers and the rest were politically motivated/aligned with the chancellor so you can fill in the rest to understand why the manipulative Palpatine was able to coherence the reluctant Jedi Order by basically saying: “Look the Judicial Officers suck and the PDF forces vary between planets, but still suck. When I was being taught literally analysis, they told us 33 was the significant age for personality. This is the same age Christ was allegedly crucified... Shakespearian characters especially who were past this threshold where considered set in the ways. Hamlet was just under it, Macbeth was just over and Othelle is only described as “an old black.” More recently Bruce Wayne is celebrating his 33rd birthday at the climax of Batman Begins when he accepts that the persona of a billionaire playboy is his true mask.

What do you think would have happened if the Jedi council would have disclosed to the republic on their findings of the clone army back in season 6 of the clone wars?

Yeah, the Null's certainly would have volunteered to glass Kamino, or at least kill all the kaminoans. Kamino was still their home, after all.

olaf gurke Kamino was certainly not the Nulls’ home, and they didn’t give a single fuck about it. Their home was with their brothers- the only reason why any of the other clones would try and defend Kamino, to be honest, was because thousands of their defenseless brothers were still there.

It is true Cut secretly deserted the army, but didn't stop him from being a SuperHero, he defended his family along with defend his brother Rex, Cut maybe have deserted the army but he was no Coward just a Sentimental Clone that didn't want to see more of his people die in front of him, but still got Commando Elite Assassin Combat Robots at his home Destroyed with little help from Rex but Cut got most robots there Destroyed, Kaminoan Security Gyard Grey Painted Clone Troopers certainly were not Cowards they did a lot action when the Separatist led by General Grievous alongside Ventress attacked Kamino to steal Clone D.N.A. But Shock Trooper Coruscant Sercuity Guards were definitely were Cowards + any Clone Captains along with Clone Commanders that hated Jedi Were rude assholes so evil corrupted no matter wow dad ass they are they would still get traumatized full of madness Brutality, while Shock Troopers didn't get traumatic mind madness, but they were still Evil but the most Evil Clone Commander Asshole Shock Trooper Commander that Hated the Jedi most was Commander Fox. Him along with his stupid Shock Troopers Coward excuse of soldiers mostly security Coruscant Guards COMPLETELY ENJOYED KILLING EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE JEDI, MEN WOMEN, EVEN CHIDLREN, they weren't exactly average military more like Military Police Marshal Law Shock Trooper Coruscant Guards, A youtuber explains why commander Fox along with his shock to Rupert's brothers were hated by every other Battalions, Corps, Legions, each Clones that wanted to volunteer to be Shock Troopers was so they don't go to main offensive frontlines to get some Separatist Forces killed only then eventually to get killed, every other Clone Class Divisions called Shock Troopers Cowards, on Coruscant they did fight criminals Bounty hunters, illegal dealers, some Traitors even thought Ahsoka was a Traitor only to be proven wrong eventually, but they weren't challenging threats they didn't often go off Coruscant to other Planets, didn't even always go on the Offensive BIG ACTION. As for Fox one out of Four Clone Commanders that hated Jedi, ( Not Darman he loved his Jedi Wife). Fun Fact Anakin has always hated Commander Fox, and Commander Fox has always hated the Jedi, He doesn't care that they're Great Warriors, doesn't care about their Wise Plans, doesn't even care about any of the Jedi that die for the Clones, he enjoys Jedi getting Killed. After completing the training simulation on Kamino he signed up to be a Commander, but not to follow the Jedi Generals Orders, not even follow Jedi Grandmaster General Yoda's own Orders, he signed up as a Republic Senate Obedient Dog to obey only Politicians Orders and Regular Military soldiers like the Admiral. That's mostly why he didn't obey Anakin's order there, He's like the Terminator Model T850 in Terminator 3 that was send from 2032 to 2003, send by Katerine Connor, since John Connor Got Killed in 2032 by Terminator Model T850, then reprogrammed and send him back to the past to ensure the survival of John Connor and Kathetine Brewster, he wasn't programmed to follow 2003 John Connor Orders, he even said it himself, I am not programmed to follow your orders. Funny since Both Terminator And Star Wars are part of the Dark Horse Universe, but anyway point is that Commander Fox was like I am not signed up to follow Jedi Orders. And no doubt when Most Clones Executed Order 66 he Enjoyed Killing Jedi, not just the men, but the women, and the Children too, he's an asshole Animal so he got choked like an Asshole animal We hate Him. And even Darth VADER Still hated him, when Fox and his men shot VADER Mistakening him for a Jedi, that was the last Straw, VADER FORCED Choked him, got his neck broken and GOT Fox KILLED!

AS much as i love the clones i dont their near invincible as fans have made them out to be. I mean look what what old republic sith and republic troopers had to fight compared to the clones. Hell look at storm troopers and republic troopers after fall of the galactic empire and what they had to fight all way to legacy era. I still dont believe that werent that many non-clone combatants. You did have planetary defense forces and the judicial and would make sense the republic would also recruit non-clones in the regular army/navy.
