Stained to Muddy water has its ups and downs. In todays video we are going to figure out what color stands out more to help you catch more fish!
The Normal way people see fishing stained/muddy water for any fish is that brighter colors are easy to see. This is true but does it really make it better than a darker color when fishing a jig in stained or muddy water? Can the crappie see it as a bright jig or a dark one lets find out!.
Thanks for watching!

wow, this has really helped me better understand colors as I typically fish this water even into the winter from a marina boat slip.

Good video,Since its been muddy so much,i hadn;t been to murry, but my fishing buddy has been, he got some baits from your dad on the water a few weeks ago,he used them on norman last week with me. They caught fish on norman, too.

mixing science with fishing...look out fish. lol I had always been taught that as a rule of thumb' If your bait would stand out under a black light, it will stand out in stained water' By your comparisons I'd say that still holds true. Yee Yee.

Would much rather see alot more crappie fishing then bass fishing. Feels like there are 1000s of bass fishermen on RU-vid the crappie fishing is much more interesting heck any kind of pan fishing even catfish

I've used dark colors on cloudy days and lighter colors on clear days.

Best illustration I’ve seen in comparing jig colors !! What kind of scent are you referring to ?? I hadn’t caught a crappie on Murray this year. So jealous !!

It is but 2 years later with livescope I've figured out even with muddy water they know your bait is there soon as it hits the water. What matters is what they see when they turn on your jig. Caught a limit today in pretty dirty water with a chartuse jig with alittle white mixed in open water fish they knew the bait was at all the time

Don't recall seeing bait fish in any of the colors you used in your illustration and I can't recall many crappie floating, dead, from starvation. I asume that to mean that they are quite capable of finding and surviving off of natural-looking forage even in the worst of conditions. But I've fished for crappie enough that I'm not gonna try to tell you color doesn't matter. It definitely does. I also fish more than 99% of the time using mini-jigs, instead of minnows. But what I see under particular conditions cannot be the entire answer to why a color catches today at 2pm and they won't touch it tomorrow, next week or next month. Something critical is missing. I admit I haven't tried to use a color-c-lector since Lake Systems brought it out in '84, but if color was the main ingredient of success- as so many people would have you believe- we should all be able to pull out our color-c-lecter and load the boat every time we go. We don't.
