Any abdominal lump without any much of symptoms with any dull aching pain which is causing any bowel symptoms could be a hanging tumor in the abdomen. It may be coming from any other tissues other than the intestine or it could be coming from the intestine not blocking the intestine. We call them extra luminal tumours arising from the intestines. So they may not present with the GI symptoms. So it could be a mesenteric cyst. It could be a diverticuli, the palpable ones, or it could be a cyst in any part of the body like large ovarian cyst, large ovarian tumours or a large extraluminal protruding fibroid tumours in the uterus. So a simple test like ultrasound could differentiate what this lumps are and where it is coming from, if it is cystic one, solid ones or from which organ it is coming and where it could be present also. If it is located in the kidney position it could be arising from the kidney also, it could be enlarged kidney called as hydronephrosis also. So the lump position could also decide which organ it is arising from.
