Hello. The germinated seeds look good. I would try them....lol I'm glad to see the male society finch is singing. I hope the male owl finch is singing too. Looking forward to the next video update. Take care, Justine

When the owl finch was alone in quarantine I thought I heard it singing twice now that it is with its female I have not. The first eggs are already laid so we hope for the best.

@@MrAviary I hope so. If they built a nest, it should be male. Fingers crossed. Good luck!

@St333ve_
@St333ve_ 3 года назад

@St333ve_ 3 года назад

Can I just germinate there normal seeds ( the ones you buy at the store ) and do it in a jar ? Like soak and strain and do it over a week or so
@MrAviary
@MrAviary 9 месяцев назад
No you need special seeds the normal seeds will germinate but with a much lower success rate. Which makes it not feasible

My finches don't seem to eat sprouts. Perhaps mungbean seeds are too large for them. Any thoughts?.

Maybe mix it with their normal seed or inside your egg food other it's just not for them

@MrAviary

If you put them in the refrigerator a couple of days. I have seen people freeze them in in small badges. For 2 finches I would give them the amount you see in the white bowl in the video.

I live in Thailand. I can't get any one those seeds, only the mung beans. and they cost a lot of money because they have import tax in them, bruh!!! So, I just used millets and my budgie seed mix. That worked great. Also, the Apple Cider Vinegar has import tax on it, so it's too expensive... like buying an expensive bottle of wine!!! I just used tap water... AND, I can't keep the seed cool. as it is usually mid 30's C here every day. But I had no problem with mold on or the seeds going bad so far.
