If you're planning to bolt on the Turbo with a Tune with stock internals DO NOT run a Twin Scroll Turbo like the Evo. The boost pressure will indeed blow your motor or seize up the cams. Not to mention you'll grenade the transmission if it's a CVT. Definitely also run a better Radiator like a Mishimoto you'll need better cooling, better Fueling so injectors and a fuel pump all braided lines for prevention.
Hey whats up! Your videos are very helpful and you explain alot about what needs to be done. Ive commented on your videos before, I said you really inspired me to turbo my lancer. I had a question tho? Is there a way or a link some where I can go to find parts like you did. yes I am on a budget and need help on finding this info. I dont want to get the exact same stuff as you. I just want to get a idea on what I can afford and choose my style for my car. Thanks j media sorry for the really long message happy thanksgiving!
Hey, I'm glad that you found my videos helpful! Also happy to be an inspiration to your build! Thank you so much for watching. As for the link, I don't really have one since I got my own ralliart turbo kit off a Facebook page. Best way to find them for cheap would be to ask around some forums and Facebook evo x/ lancer for sale pages. Ask to see if anyone parting out evo x or ralliart full turbo kit
Thank you I appreciate it! I think it was a 2010 ralliart but I'm not 100% sure since it was over a year back. Any 2008-2015 ralliart set up would work. Just make sure not too high mileage on parts and turbo is good. If you want to watch my entire turbo build from start to finish, you can watch it here: ru-vid.com/group/PLW2DzS-HXtFN3c5UAmnQPQyM1gQFHqgKd
Hey, from what I've heard the road race motorsports turbo kit is expensive. It's much cheaper to use the OEM ralliart / evo x turbo kit to boost your car. It depends on how much boost you run, and what parts you have on your car etc. It should give you a good 50-100 hp bunp
Great question! Both are great set ups to turbo a lancer but since I can't run as much boost, the ralliart turbo is smaller and spools up faster. Only down side to it is that it has less aftermarket support compared to the Evo x set up
Love the video, I actually have a 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer ES That I was wondering if you could turbo or give a little extra juice I want this to be my first project car. :)
Thank you! Yes you can definitely get the lancer es turbocharged. I have a full playlist on all my turbo build videos if you would like to watch the process from start to finish. ru-vid.com/group/PLW2DzS-HXtFN3c5UAmnQPQyM1gQFHqgKd
Dude I ready follow you !!!!! I'm living on CA!!! I want to do my lancer gts 2.0, turbo its automatic do you think thats its posible??????were do you live?
Yes you can do it! Im in Austin, Texas. I made a playlist of videos explaining what is needed to turbo your car step by step ru-vid.com/group/PLW2DzS-HXtFN3c5UAmnQPQyM1gQFHqgKd
Hey, yea pretty much any 2008 and up lancer parts will fit your 2017. You can join Facebook groups like Lancernation, Mitsubishi Lancer Turbo group, Evo x groups etc
No problem! I'm sure there are a bunch of other lancer groups you can join too. Just type "Mitsubishi lancer" or "Evo x" and sometimes these groups sell parts or you can ask questions on there too
Sorry I'm not familiar with the lancer gsr since we only have the Evo x gsr here. If it's the same as any model lancer, you can use an Evo x turbo kit on it as well
What questions do you have? Would advise to watch all the turbo videos in my playlist "Mitsubishi lancer turbo build" to have a better idea on what parts needed, cost, etc ru-vid.com/group/PLW2DzS-HXtFN3c5UAmnQPQyM1gQFHqgKd
I’m running around 11psi on my 4B10(1.8) with TD05( evo x ) with the evo x ecu. I’m curious about the manual boost controller tho, since I’m running the stock boost solenoid and a few of my buddies are using a 3 port boost solenoid , how does the manual boost is connected to the kit ?
That's good to know! Do you have the block built or stock internals? Not sure how the 4b10 engine is with boost compared to the 4b11 or 4b12 engines since we don't have them here in the US. I barely got started on the turbo build so I'm not sure how it will be hooked up yet. Will post videos of the install along the way!
Stock internals with thicker head gasket and stock evo x cams . But sadly the 4b10 has a pretty high compression ratio compared to the 4b11 NA so I can’t push anymore higher sadly.I can’t wait for the uploads dude since I’m also learning about this platform 😃
Sounds good! Yea we just dropped in the Evo x cams and will have a video on that too. Also went ahead to replace all the gaskets while we were at it. I'm excited for the project too! Will be uploading more videos on it as I get it built more!
I got my list from Rallinspired's website and added more stuff to it as I did more research. You can view it here: rallinspired.com/forums/topic/2008-2015-turbo-guide-for-manual-cvt/
I got a full custom build turbo setup for my lancer 2009. I work on ecu programming too, maps and custom definitions. Any questions about specs, torques, or build process. Send them here!
Hey man I was wondering if you have an insta or Facebook I can message you at? I’m getting a lancer soon and I plan on doing a whole bunch of stuff with it (complete evo swap)
Yes! Both the Evo x turbo and Ralliart turbo kit will work. Whether it's worth it or not depends on personal preference. You'll be spending a couple thousand dollars and looking to get about 100hp extra
It's not a kit but the oem ralliart turbo set up. If you join a couple of lancer or Evo x for sale pages, ask for full OEM ralliart turbo kit for sale. They usually range in the $700 to $1000 range! The list can be found on the Rallinspired website here: rallinspired.com/forums/topic/2008-2015-turbo-guide-for-manual-cvt/
That's a great question that I get asked all the time. Me personally, yes. On a budget, you're probably going to spend about $2k to $3k on oem parts. It will be a little quicker and more fun than stock. Definitely not the fastest thing on the road but I think it's worth the extra fun.
Hey, I don't have a link unfortunately since it isn't a specific website selling it. Your best bet would be to see if anyone is selling a full Evo x or ralliart turbo kit on ebay, Facebook marketplace etc. I bought mine that way too off a guy on an Evo x buy/sell group
Hello from greece.very nice videos!!!i want a help.i have Mitsubishi lancer 2008 1.5(4a91) and i am thinking of turbo!!!!can you tell me if it is possible????if you want sent me a list of the things that i must find to do it !!thank you very much!!!
Thanks for watching my RU-vid videos! I'm not sure about the 4a91 engine to be honest since we do not have that engine here in the US. But I believe it should be more or less the similar process to turbo. I got my main list of parts from rallinspired.com/forums/topic/2008-2015-turbo-guide-for-manual-cvt/
Hey, I've been watching your videos on this conversion, I wanted to ask if you came across info that says it's possible to convert a 2015 Lancer SE FWD 5 speed manual tranny to a turbocharged Ralliart? I haven't found much in the way of positivity, I keep hearing that I should save my money and buy a Ralliart. Thanks!
Thank you for watching my videos! Yea if you are looking to convert the lancer to a ralliart, you'll have to either swap in the ralliart 4b11t engine or turbo the lancer engine. You'll also have to swap the manual transmission to the auto sst transmission. The sst transmission alone costs a lot. If you are looking to just hit ralliart power numbers, you can do it on a budget with oem ralliart turbo parts for about $2k-$3k on parts. But if you want to swap the engine and transmission, it will cost a lot more. Probably in the $10k+ range. Would be cheaper to buy a ralliart instead of swapping it all
@@TheJMedia yeah, I'm just looking to turbo my current engine and try to increase the power. I cannot stand how weak the car is currently, so I want to see if the turbo kit can connect fairly naturally.
Yea adding a turbo would definitely be more fun! It's bolt on with a few custom modifications needed here and there. Feel free to watch my turbo playlist on the channel. Has every single turbo video in there: ru-vid.com/group/PLW2DzS-HXtFN3c5UAmnQPQyM1gQFHqgKd
Hey man, I'm not experienced with the older generation lancer to go turbo. You might be able to use the Evo turbo but I'm not sure. Best to check with other lancer owners in forums!
It is $4000 grand. Not worth it especially if all they are doing is selecting parts from an older EVO X model and they are essentally making about 50% profit doing so
Great question! Sorry I'm not too sure about the earlier generation lancer models. I'm only familiar with boosting 08 and up lancers. Not sure if you could fit the Evo 8/9 turbo manifold
That's awesome man! Haha yea hope you didn't mind my rant lol. I have all the turbo build videos in a seperate playlist so if you want to check it out from start to finish, go watch the videos! ru-vid.com/group/PLW2DzS-HXtFN3c5UAmnQPQyM1gQFHqgKd
Nice! What do you mean by get a turbo set up? Do you mean you have the turbo parts and looking for a shop or someone to install it? Or you are asking if I am able to source parts for you?
Yes you can turbo the cvt. This video talks about what is needed to turbo the lancer. If you want to watch the entire build process from the beginning, I have all my turbo videos on this playlist on my RU-vid channel: ru-vid.com/group/PLW2DzS-HXtFN3c5UAmnQPQyM1gQFHqgKd
Yea from what I heard it's not good and expensive. Most guys I know of including myself run either the oem ralliart or evo x turbo set up. Cheaper and more reliable
Yes it is! Many others have done it too. I compiled all the turbo lancer videos here if you wanna check out: ru-vid.com/group/PLW2DzS-HXtFN3c5UAmnQPQyM1gQFHqgKd
Nice man! So there isn't a direct link to it. I bought my turbo set up off a lancer ralliart owner on a Facebook Evo x for sale group. eBay has people listing the OEM ralliart or Evo x turbo set ups for sale sometimes. Parts alone you can set aside about $700 to $1000 for the turbo, about another $500 to $1000 for miscellaneous stuff like oil lines etc. Also about another $500 or so for a tune. On a budget, you'll probably be spending $3000 if you do the work yourself. If you get a shop to do the install, you'll probably pay another few thousand or so
The J Media oh thanks man I appreciate that, looks like I’ll have to put aside some extra cash for a little longer thought I could manage with 2k but I’ll go ahead and go all out lol might as well
Yea for sure man! I thought I could call it a day with 2k or 3k all done too but ended up spending more. Partially because of all the other aftermarket stuff I added. If you stick to the OEM turbo parts, that would be the cheapest
Hey i just got a 09 lancer gts its a 2.4 do you know where i can get a check list printable and good places to look for affordable parts? Really like the way your lancer is turning out btw🙏😃
Thank you I appreciate it! The list I went off was from Rallinspired's website. rallinspired.com/forums/topic/2008-2015-turbo-guide-for-manual-cvt/ The cheapest and best way to boost your lancer would be to buy an oem used evo x or ralliart turbo kit. You can try to ask on either forums, facebook for sale pages, ebay etc
