The old guy with the kid seems like such a nice fellow, answered every question honestly with a smile on his face. There’s nothing wrong with respecting the other sides achievements. hh x
Rangers fan myself, folk saying they don’t respect winning a European cup with local lads are just bitter. Best Celtic player in my lifetime would be Larsson.
Only team in Scotland and first team in UK to win a European Cup... You would think all the apparent "British and Proud" would at least be proud of that achievement, but unfortunately you can't cure bigotry or taintedness.
the older man with the boy seems like such a genuine guy, sometimes people make out all celtic and rangers fans hate eachother, i don’t hate rangers, i love celtic 🍀
Jorg Albertz was the player I feared most when we played them. He could be about 40 yards from goal and I'd still be thinking "somebody get that ball off him ffs!"
He had some left peg didn’t he?? I know a Celtic fan who was at ibrox on a midweek old firm and was in the front row. He said when it flew past Kerr the ball hit the net that hard he said you could hear the plastic cable ties snap on the side netting.
Not only did Celtic win the European cup but they did so with all their players born no further than 20 miles away from Glasgow that’s an outstanding achievement that will never be done again! Simply incredible
As a celtic fan I'd just like to say fair play to the rangers fans for keeping it respectful and honest , lets hope this continues from here on its a breath of fresh air because a game of football is not worth all the hatred that comes with this fixture , when all is said and done there really a lot of respect from both sides 👏
I love Di Canio he helped Rangers win the league. If he just put the ball in the box rather than F about with it, and let teams get back in numbers, Pierre van Hooijdonk and Jorge Gadete, would had scored more and won the league For, Tommy Burns, God Bless his Soul, Tommy lost 1, draw 11 games, Cheers Paolo
Fuck me this is refreshing to see. For the most part it’s borderline respectful, at worst it’s the words of fans talking honest about their bitter rivals. You can be rivals, hate each other’s club, without having to kick lumps out of each other.
A 60 y/o Bears fan. I saw Dalglish play in hoops colours in 1970s. Not only best Celt but best Scottish and British player of the past 50 years. A genius.
Could not agree more ,saw him in nearly every game he played for Celtic up to that dreadful day in August 77 when he headed south .In writing that he knew what he was doing as he scored the winner in the European Cup only nine months later .
Regardless of what team you support if you don't respect a team for winning a European cup you are just bitter. Any team in Europe wants that accolade regardless of the era. Get a grip.
Not only did Celtic win the European cup but they did so with all their players born no further than 20 miles away from Glasgow that’s an outstanding achievement that will never be done again! Simply incredible
As a huge Celtic fan who watches all of your videos. It’s really good seeing fans from both side of the divide who respect our game as a sport. I hate Rangers for 90 minutes every time we play them, but that’s football. It’s nice seeing real fans being honest, rather than the ignorant trolls you get on social media. Keep up the good work mate! Cracking content
Favourite Gers player as a Celtic fan: Brian Laudrop. It was like he played with on of those keepy uppy training balls that are attached to a string, the ball almost never left his feet. Outstanding player.
Laudrup never gets talked about enough, ball just stuck to his foot. Some even say, he was better than his bro but unfulfilled because he didn’t reach a Barca or Real Madrid, he was at Bayern and ac Milan but was deemed surplus. Quality quality player 🇩🇰
Lots of great players, but Brian Laudrup outstanding. Just edges Davie Cooper only because he was more consistent. Although i remember the moody blue scoring against us, and the only description i can give the goal is "out of this world". Flicking over defenders heads , dribbling past i can't remember how many. Amazing. Better than Gazza's against Scotland. What a talent, when in the mood.
Love this guys work, refreshing to see some one from outside Scotland take the time to observe and pay respect to two massive clubs that do not get the respect they deserve in the UK. He is also showcasing the good respectful fans from both sides that love there clubs when most media outlets focus on the shite side
Favourite Rangers moment. Lovenkrands scoring in the Scottish cup final to make it 3-2 in the last minute. He said he was so tired he just fell into the diving header and hoped for the best. What a moment.
I enjoyed that. When you cut through all the bullshit, there is a grudging respect from most sensible fans. And, I’d say as a Celtic fan, Davy Cooper was a player to be feared, he was so talented.
Massive Rangers fan, not much respect for celtic and a lot of their fans but I was pretty gutted when Billy McNeil died. He was a one off and you can't not respect the fact that a team all born so close to parkhead became the champions of Europe. We also got to a Euro cup final the same seasonal but unfortunately lost after extra time to an incredible Bayern Munich team featuring the like of Gerd Muller up front and Beckenbauer in defence. Well done for your coverage of Scottish football. Its good to see someone bringing positivity to our game and also our football fans. Hope you enjoy the game on Sunday.
Great 2 videos. It was good how you managed to get a good age range of fans too. My initial worries were that you’d have some complete roasters on each side spouting crap about each other and making us look bad but thankfully you managed to avoid that. I will say though, imagine your favourite derby match being one that was played with no fans?
My favourite Rangers player from a Celtic fan is without doubt Willie Henderson, pure gentleman, amazing player... fav game ..... the numerous 5-1 thrashings we dished out, but the pretty recent one at Ibrox when it was 5 going on 8 was magic. But there's plenty... we beat them so often we should've got them TO KEEP !
Billy McNeill was a true old school gentleman. Favourite old firm moment was 5-1 to rangers at Ibrox when Ray Wilkins scored the volley at the Broomloan Road end.
Celtic fan here I only care about the football my Family are all Unionists and about to go into the British Army. But I grew up with all my friends being Celtic fans so I supported them to refreshing to see that there are still fans who respect to each other massive respect to rangers without them Celtic or Rangers wouldn’t be a talked about team
Good to see, you can be respectful about another Club without compromising the support you have for your own club. Players like mcstay, mccoist, mcneill, larsson, davie Cooper you can't help but respect their skill and dedication to their respective clubs.
if you keep up these interesting ideas and quality videos you are definitely going places. good to see you really taking to scottish football (not sure if you were before your channel) and the respect you show for the game up here aswell. there's a few major media channels that could learn a couple of things from your content. keep it up
I'm a celtic fan brothers a rangers fan we take the piss out each other when we watch the old firm but at the end of the day I've got alot respect for rangers he got respect for celtic
Bluenose here and you might think I’m daft but my favourite old firm game wasn’t a Rangers win. It was the 4-4 game at Ibrox many years ago, players like Tommy Burns etc for Celtic and a certain Ally McCoist etc for Rangers. Game was played in torrential rain. The only old firm game I have ever been at where both sets of fans stayed and applauded the sides off the pitch. I’m 52 years of age and it is still and probably always will be the most incredible game of football I have ever witnessed. 1-0 Celtic 2-0 Celtic 2-1 Celtic 3-1 Celtic 3-2 Celtic 3-3 4-3 Rangers,at this point the Rangers end of the stadium was absolute bedlam 4-4 due to a Murdo MacLeod 30 odd yarder . Both sets of players absolutely knackered at the end. Genuinely believe it is the only old firm game when both sets of fans went home smiling and happy at just witnessing an unbelievable game.
I'm a year younger that yourself pall but what a game in the rain.brilliant both teams believe it or not applauded off the park did .w.mcstay get sent off that day?
Thats a great answer! I was actually thinking of that very game before I even seen your comment. For sure, Willie McStay was sent off in the first half.
As a Millwall/Rangers fan, celtics treble treble is pretty impressive in the modern game and this is what Rangers should aim for. In the past you can’t argue with a European cup. That hurt to say.😂
These videos are amazing mate , as a rangers fan I don’t hate Celtic I just simply love Rangers and with the old firm being neck and neck for all of my life for the title it just adds to the Derby, I love the derby and the banter some of my good friends are Celtic fans aswell it’s not all toxic and what it’s made out to be it’s mostly banter from my view of being a fan of 20+ years
Loved this, Rangers man through and through, I'm 37 and lived through the likes of Laudrup, Gazza, Larsson, etc and it's interesting seeing both sets of fans. Of course, you're going to get the odd supporter whose going to show no respect for the other, dealing with a fierce rivalry. I can put my differences aside personally as a Rangers man. The rivalry is the rivalry it is, I don't let hatred get in the way.
Listen, any man that can look beyond the playground shite and answer these questions respectfully has nothing but my utmost respect. Fair play to yous 👍
As a Rangers fan, I'm going to answer the questions. One Celtic player I'd sign: Kyogo Furuhashi - that's a type of player I'd love Rangers to have! Very fast, very skillful.... Achievement I respect: 1967 European Cup, even though for me (I might be subjective) it doesn't have the same value like modern football. Best player: Henrik Larsson - he was a world class player, a legend! Favourite moment: Maurice Edu's last minute goal in 2010 was a really special moment for me. I also love 2019 win at Celtic Park because we were waiting for so long to win at their stadium. :)
@@afaaawwaaa3829 don't be a tit, that goal edu scored basically secured them the league that season. I bleed green and white and I ain't that petty. Probably just like Venegoor of Hesselink's goal against rangers a few years before that is big goal for many fellow Celtic fans
Rangers fan here. Don’t know about the best but Tommy Burns was a class act and a total gent. European Cup is an achievement I respect. Fav Old Firm moment Lovenkrands winner in Scottish Cup final. I would sign Turnbull right now. Voted for you, great content keep it up :)
As a bluenose I really liked and respected Tommy Burns but their best player in my opinion was King Kenny Dalglish. I’d have loved him to play for the Gers 👍🏻❤️🤍💙
👏 to the older guy with a son or grandson who supports Celtic , he was very genuine. I think it’s sad that ppl don’t respect the lions, what have they ever done wrong
The older guy and young lad are standouts here, loved it when he whispered Gascoigne and the wee man wasted no time echoing it. Another great video, love the content and love seeing someone take an unbiased approach to such a polarising topic.
As a rangers man, I'll answer. French eddy on his day is different class, European Cup gotta be, henrik was glad to see the back of him and any win is as special as each would agree. Both more than likely hate each other during the 90mins but after that we all get along and it's a noise up from both teams, that's what it's all about.
Bobby Lennox was my nightmare as a young boy watching Rangers.. Lightning fast, lethal finisher, and a genuinely likeable fella. Murdo McLeod was a great player as well.
Am a Tim for me the best Rangers player in my we humble opinion was Michael Moles...What a player. If Marco Negri the guy who was believed to be dropped by the former club known as Glasgow Rangers because of blessing himself before every game. Would have gotten my vote before Moles as Negri's goal ratio as remarkable.....And it was a blessing for Celtic Marco was a Tim. Hail, Hail
As a Celtic fan, the Rangers players that scared me the most (in order) were Laudraup, McCoist and Hateley. Mark Walters used to worry me a bit as well back in the day.
Agree, Laudrup was just a man possessed every time he played for Rangers.Laudrup had the light running style that made him float Rodger Federer. He was so effective against us.Nobody has terrified me more than Laudrup. Im sure they feel the same about Larsson
I’m a rangers fan and I’ve been watching football since around 1988 being my first game.. if I’d choose Celtic players you would say Mcstay and of course Larsson.
@@robertpaisley8643 the mid 90’s team we had was unreal.. even into early 2000’s under Advoccat was great times I don’t think we’ll see the likes again as you said 👍
@@dannyreloaded2100 Still got the same football association license number has the new rangers. The answer to that is no. New license numbers are given to new clubs.
I’ve subbed your channel today having seen a few videos on my timeline. I think your questions were relevant as well as being well thought out. My favourite game was the 4-4 game at Ibrox in 86 which ultimately launched the comeback to win the Title on the last day from Hearts. Terrible weather ,on a less than desirable surface (by modern standards) and of course the obligatory sending off . It was one of those games where both sets of supporters were happy about both the result and the input from both teams. A pure blood and snorters affair if you like. I don’t hate Rangers I love Celtic . The way it should be.
Nice effort mate- been a fan since your "around the grounds world tour of Scotland" I haven't seen the Celtic fans take on Rangers F.C. and must admit when I put this on I thought "here we go, we are going to come out of this badly" but well done indeed.
@@tomw6947 You get quite a few families in Liverpool with a red/blue split...though I do understand it isn't quite the same as a green/blue split in Glasgow. A few years ago I lived in Edinburgh and followed Hearts, most of my friends who liked footy were Hi'bees...the rivalry was there sort of, with derby games, but otherwise we just had a laugh together.
@@Northstander up here you follow who your da follows, although that tradition has eroded somewhat. I find the mixed families thing in Liverpool really weird.
This is an interesting idea, good on you for asking these types of questions. Do a Hearts/hibs one next week for edinburgh derby and dundee one when the dee derby rolls round.
Yea its up there with Gough's equalizer for 2-2 in 1987 - noise levels the TV booms or whatever they called couldn't cope with:) Last-minute wins (or draws:)) are the best.
The very fact that each set of fans 'hate' the other side, to me, shows just how successful each club has been, and that 'hatred' is actually grudging respect. As someone else has commented, I love Rangers far more than I 'grudgingly respect' Celtic. Best Celtic player I can remember would either be Paul McStay or Larsson. Genuinely brought fear when they had the ball at the edge of the box. Respect their European Cup win and their first 9IAR. Cannot think of a best Old Firm memory to be honest. The 2-2 game in 1987 felt like a win after being down to 9 men after 20 mins, Graham Roberts in goal and going 2 down. Mo Johnston scoring the winner v them in 1989 another high. Davie Cooper winning penalty in the 1987 Skol Cup, Albertz 35 yarder at Ibrox, so many to chose from....especially the last 7 games!
Celtic have had some fantastic players. One that I always used to dread getting the ball was Pierre Van Hoijdonk. I thought he was brilliant. Nobody ever seems to remember him though. Larsson was also a different class. There have only been a couple of truly world class players to play in Scotland in the modern era. I’d say Laudrup and Larsson could be considered world class.
Van hoijdonk was so underrated , probably a bit of ego and his temperament affected his career, but he was incredibly talented, great free kick taker too, check out his free kick goals, could score from anywhere ! If kluivert and can nistelrooy hadn’t been on the scene, he’d been number 9 for Holland , was limited to sub appearances with the national side
As a big Rangers fan I can remember from being at old firm games that the Celtic player that used to give me ‘the fear’ when he was on the ball was Tommy Burns (RIP). I think people can forget how good a player he was. But not anywhere near as good as Gazza right enough! 🇬🇧🇬🇧
It should be respected but also put into context. Back then it was a much different competition and much easier to win than current euro comps i think it was only 4 games or something to get to the final back then
@@bhoywunda7 yeah agree with that, thats why i think both sidrs should be proud of getting to the likes of the europa league finals in more recent times. In terms of European football both sides of the old firm are minnows purely down to lack of finances in our game has left them trailing behind better marketed european leagues.
@@poneil8845 yeah but its completely different times, look at the huge gulf in quality now across countries and leagues. That wasnt the chasm that it is now.
as a massive rangers fan i dont consider myself bitter i just love my team saying this as i am relaxing on my blue deckchair with a lovely blue lagoon in my hand looking up at a bright blue sky
Great pair of videos Sam! While it’s not as big of a rivalry… you should do this for Hearts and Hibs as well. Not sure if there’s as much animosity among the two groups of fans but it could be interesting.
Are you going to St Johnstone v LASK or Aberdeen V Qarabag on Thursday? The St Johnstone game is almost sold out already and Aberdeen game will be a great atmosphere with the red shed.
@@johnsoreide7863 I’m a hibs fan bud, but take my hat off too how well st.johnstone have done Over last couple years. Also the boy Sam does amazing job of the blogs giving Scottish clubs great coverage
Best old firm game for me was the 3-2 win in 2012. The immense crowd even when the club was being pushed under, and seeing Lee Wallace bust his lungs to make it 3-0. What a moment 🟦🟦🟦⬜🟥⬜🟦🟦🟦
Celtic fan here but got to say Rangers have played some good stuff under Gerrard in Europe and the league, especially last year. They have some good players and I would say Laudrup was the best I seen. Hopefully we can do enough at ibrox this weekend to swing the pendulum back towards the green and white
@@tomhill4738 to true big T you couldn't get a season ticket at Ibrox before there was a waiting list I got one no bother after he put pen to paper broke big Billy's heart right enough
Iam a Dundee Utd fan but I have been to a Celtic v Rangers match away back in 1977 I went with a pal who was a Celtic fan and loved it and the score that day was 1-1
Celtic man myself the player I feared most was Davie Cooper the goal he scored in the Drybrough cup final in 79 was unbelievable had a wand of a left foot I saw him tear the Celtic defence apart through my fingers at times
WOW just seen Celtic fans asked the same thing and majority said something to respect but only 1 guy had the balls to say the European Cup! Amazing the jealousy is spewing out of this lot.
Well, this is a unfair challenge, technically there has been two Rangers'es so as a Celtic fan, (1 club since 1888,) Id say Jim Baxter was the best with the original club and Id say Tavenier with the current club. BTW showing 1872 and Rangers forever and using the words "Old Firm" doesnt change the reality of the situation, but it does show your preference from a supposedly impartial viewpoint
I'm Welsh, I looked into this and it would appear a Scottish judge approved the fact that Rangers could keep all their titles and cups. So it would appear you're "wrang"
Another excellent video Sam. Thought as a Rangers fan I would answer a few of your questions. Celtic's best ever player: Jimmy McGrory (still the all-time top scorer in UK football) Current Celtic player I would sign for Rangers: Callum McGregor (he already scored for Rangers last season - LOL!) Achievement I respect: Being the first ever UK club to win the European Cup. Otherwise I have very little interest in them honestly, except in seeing them get beat when they're playing against us.
@@plebiusjonbson823 Classic woke Celtic fan thinking there is something wrong with "wee Japanese fella" - I bet you've got a Free Palestine duvet cover (single)
@@OldManRocketLeague Apparently you thought there was something wrong with it the way you replied, I didn't have to say anything hahahaha You're not helping yourself either
Celtic football teams achievements are there for all to see , we as Rangers fans dont support Celtic but we respect their players past and present ,my brother in law played alongside harry hood at queen of south and he told me about the time he was in Glasgow city centre and it was Rangers fans who recognised him and had friendly banter with him , he did say a lot of celtic fans didnt recognise him , myself coming from East End of Glasgow ( Dalmarnock ) and my memories of celtic greats ive met or bumped into when they were going to training up at westhorn park ,ie Danny mcgrain , paul mcstay , Tommy Burns to name but a few, great players and gentlemen to boot
Would definitely have kyogo in our team and as a rangers fan you've got to be honest and say that having been the first "British" side to win the European cup was an achievement. Celtic have had many good players Larson mcstay McNeil but in my lifetime as a 25 year old the best ever Celtic players in my life time was the whole of last season's team 😉😉 favourite old firm game I think as a fan is Ur first old firm game win lose or draw but for rangers best old firm was the 3-2 2002 Scottish cup final or the Ryan Kent Scott brown moment....😉😉
Rangers fan here, one of my favourite scottish player has to be mcstay, he played for the team he loved, came right through the boys club, had the chance to go, but his love for the club was better than money. Dont think celtic never really appreciated him.
As a Rangers supporter, the one Celtic player I would like Rangers to sign is Kyogo, defenders need to have eyes on the back of their head to keep him in check...
@@Malky1302 only player yous mainly have too watch from us is probs abada and kyogo both rapid and got some real talent between them looking foward too it its gonna be more attacking from both teams than usual 😂
Really enjoying this Vox pop. My only complaint is the audio. Coupled with strong accents and inadequate audio, I struggle to hear fans responses. Minor complaint really, These videos answer questions and insight to how fans think. Great videos keep it up just sort out the sound issues
