I think the kids are being loyal to their mother. Maria didnt ask for this mess either and it ruined her marriage and the life she had. Its probable still painful and having a love child hanging around your kids she may not be ready for that yet. That is alot to ask of a women who already was raising 4 of his kids and was a first lady to his career etc. She has a right to her feelings and to set boundaries for herself.

I think Joseph is in so much need for his father's validation that he does this body building to get his approval. Arnold hasn't even allowed him to change his surname name to his. I hope I am wrong. If your father didn't love your mother or is ashamed of how you were conceived nothing you do will earn their affection towards you. They'll tolerate you but they won't love you. Look at Brian McKnight cursing at all the children he had before his Asian wife. He's even changed his name because one of the kids he hates was named Brian Jnr.
Joseph didn't change his surname by choice. He keeps it to respect the man he thought was his father for years, because he still has a relationship with that man too.

I tend to agree. However, there still is a lot of hurt and anguish behind this complicated situation. I already have a feeling that Maria does not want much to do with Joseph. The only thing Maria would think about is how Joseph was conceived through an adulterous affair which served as a very tough catalyst for the divorce 13 years after Joseph was born. It would still be a painful reminder to Maria. The other siblings most likely side with the mother because divorce can hurt kids in the process, too.
