What do you say, when Evangelicals ACCUSE THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF HAVING A ‘DIFFERENT JESUS‘?" 

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints since my sister and I asked Pastor Hawes at our Baptist church: "Where are the Apostles Jesus has? and a Prophet? He told us: "Oh, we don't need them today, that was only in the New Testament". "No dears, you won't find them now days, we no longer need them." Well, we knew by the New Testament, that the True church would definitely have Apostles of the Lord. We searched and searched.....having faith that our Saviour, Our Redeemer, Jesus would lead us to the church that was His. It wasn't a couple years later, that a family was building a new home on our street. A girl the same age as my sister moved in with her family and we became fast friends and she and my sister talked all the time about Jesus. One day, Toni, was "inspired" to say: "Well, my church has Apostles of the Lord Jesus Christ." This girl told us her family was Mormon. Right then, my sister asked to talk to the missionaries! My mom who had been to the Baptist church all her life, also knew there were no resemblances to the church Jesus set up with the Apostles, and the Baptist church. She didn't like that, but always went to church. Our mom was a Bible scriptorian. She knew the whole Bible backwards and forward; however, she had to work full time and didn't have the ability to go to all the churches - looking for for the True church. We all had the missionary discussions. My mom put them through all of her very deep doctrinal questions about all the missing books in the Bible that are referred to....but not included in the Bible. It took her three solid months, but the Mormon missionaries answered every single hole, every unanswered question from her life of studying the Bible. We all three were given an answer to our prayer (the promise in Moroni 10: 4 & 5; Book of Mormon), and we were all three baptized. My mom was baptized in a river like the Savior was, because she didn't feel worthy to be in a warm baptisimal font, when Jesus was baptized in a cold river. I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church upon the earth, because my Savior has witnessed this to me by the Holy Ghost. He is my very best friend and He has taught me more than anyone else - How to be more like Him and strive to live a Christ like life as a wife, mother and grandmother of 48 years.

I am a Born Again Christian before i met the Missionaries. I pray to Jesus of the Bible, to know if the Book of Mormon Jesus, is the same Jesus Christ in the new testament. The Holy Ghost testified to me this truth when i read this verse in the Book of Mormon in 3 Nephi 11: 10. 10 Behold, I am Jesus Christ, whom the prophets testified shall come into the world. 11 And behold, I am the light and the life of the world; and I have drunk out of that bitter cup which the Father hath given me, and have glorified the Father in taking upon me the sins of the world, in the which I have suffered the will of the Father in all things from the beginning.

When people say that to me, I say there is only one Jesus. We just understand Him a little differently and invite them to explore what we have learned.

There is only one Jesus Christ ❤… no matter how many times I hear about a “different Jesus” … it’s one thing I will never repeat. There is only one Christ ❤

They don't understand,or don't try to understand that we all worship the same Jesus

The mere fact that Jesus Christ fulfilled His promise in the New Testament that He will visit His other sheep,and did so after His resurrection and is now recorded in The Book of Mormon Another Testament of Jesus Christ, is the crowning event in that Book proves that theres only one Jesus Christ that most non lds christians deny and ignore.

Yeah, we “Mormon” Christians love the Christian song that says “Let me tell you ‘bout my Jesus”! We love the One that Alma 7 in The Book of Mormon talks about, which is the same Jesus as the Jesus in the book of John. I strive to love Him the way He commanded, and I am willing to take upon me His name.

I wasnt aware that there are 2 Jesus?? Omg, where have I been???? I'll tell you where I've been - serving The Lord in HIS TRUE CHURCH - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, that's where I've been. This church is absolutely and totally centered on Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior and the redeemer of the world. There is only 1 Jesus Christ and every head will bow and every knee will bend to HIM!!!! THEE Jesus Christ who suffered, bled, atoned, and died for our sins. THEE Jesus Christ who because of His atonement makes it possible for me to regain Heavenly Father's presence. He is the cornerstone of this church. Period. That we're told that we worship another Jesus is ludicrous and quite frankly, just plain insulting. I may disagree with my Christian brothers and sisters on many religious doctrines, but I have never nor have I ever heard anyone in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints accuse people not of our faith that they believe in a different Jesus simply because of religious differences. Its just plain sad.

Yeah, I'm a different Maury to my mom than I am to my ex-wife, different to my daughter than to my sister, and different to my best friend than to my worst enemy. How one understands another doesn't change their being.

David, have you read the beginning of The Book of Abraham yet? The way he speaks of desiring the blessings of the fathers and the authority of the priesthood will really resonate with you.

Growing up,I never understood why other churches didn't have prophet's and apostle, but people thought their church was true! But I believe in my church because we have prophets and apostles! So it's interesting 🤔 how we all see things sometimes!

Well, if folks think there's a different Jesus Christ than the Jesus who set his believers up with apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers and evangelists, ALL ordained under His hand or by those He authorized, to baptize and bless others by His authority and NOT authorized by some sectarian "seminary"; if others choose to follow teachings that stray from these (and others) it is their right, I suppose, but I'll stay where I know the power and authority of Jesus Christ can be traced right back to His own hands!!

Most of the time I hear "Your Jesus is the brother of Satan" or "Your Jesus isxa created being, not eternal".

I've found accusers are usually guilty of what they're accusing others of!!

It is not a question of what kind of Jesus any false church believes in, but the real Jesus. And the teachings of the real Jesus are only found in His own Church; the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, The one and only true Church on earth. The one that He leads and guides Himself through the living prophet that He has called. In that Church you will learn the TRUE doctrine.

A thought... It seems to me that one reason the people who say we worship a "different" Jesus is because they are trying to justify, in their own minds, their persecution of the Saints. They try to justify their mocking of fellow believers of Jesus Christ. I doubt any one would admit it even if they consciously thought about it. It doesn't change how ridiculous the accusation is to us. If anyone said that to me, they would instantly loose all credibility in my mind.

Bro. David, on another topic, you should seriously consider going to the temple open house for the Manti temple! It's a very historic old temple, with some very unique architectural features, and I know you'd find it fascinating! The open house starts today, and runs through April 15th, just in case you might be able to fit a trip to see it into your schedule.

I would have to immediately ask them different from which of the differing Jesus's in the Evangelical world - Trinity? Godhead? Just to get started. A couple of my childhood friends were of Evangelical religions and they were as different as night and day from each other yet somehow, magically, they became 'one' against my religion and our much more in-depth understanding of Jesus Christ. I simply quoted our 11th article of faith and then we'd get back to our board games or bicycle riding.

It sounds to me like THEY "anyone who does not believe like me and you, and I'm not too sure about you" are creating Christ in THEIR OWN image...and it's really hard to disagree with them when they do it. I guess we will find out someday...until then I'll keep the Lord of my youth, and THEY can keep theirs.

I stand by my faith in the teachings of the church..As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,we need to respect others beliefs even if we have different teachings.. It may not be easy for others to do it but debate about our differences is not a good way to be united as christians and followers of Jesus Christ. We may differ in doctrines but the holy scriptures is never wrong in reminding us to love,respect one another.. Gods' plan of salvation is for everyone who would accept it in their own free will,through sincere prayer and guidance from our Heavenly Father and His only son,Jesus Christ. We will all be call to serve in His time..

In fact there are two concepts of Jesus Christ, the false concept of the Trinitrans as to Christ and the concept held by the restored gospel. The gospel that is put forth by those who believe in a noncorporeal god believe in something that is not god. They believe in a Christ that is not Christ. The many different iterations held by the Christian world as to the nature of God are the corruptions of the gospel of Christ.

The 'Jesus' most Christian churches worship bears little resemblance to Jesus. Jesus is one person yet they claim he is three people in one form. We do have a different Jesus than that impossible personage. The Jesus we worship is the same one that walked the earth 2 thousand years ago not some mystical figure.

Evangelical Christians will say Mormons believe in a "different" Christ because we dont teach that The Father, Son, and Holy Ghost have always existed as God. THey say our teaching that Christ is the first born son of The Father proves that he had a beginning etc. It is a very poor difference because as David said, the focus should be on what Christ did for all of us.

If you ask people what they think of Trump, you will get different answers depending on their political views. Some will say he is a horrible person, and others will say he is amazing. Are they talking about the same person? Yes. There is only one Jesus. The one that was born of Mary, lived a perfect life, created the universe, died for our sins and only through Him are we saved. It doesn't matter if they think He has different aspects or characteristics. Same individual. There isn't another one.

The lack of description of the details of the Atonement in the Garden, as expressed in the KJV, seems to support the insistence that it's metaphorical for Christ's anxiousness regarding the Crucifixion, to the point that it may take more than a simple testimony to persuade evangelicals of the details revealed in D&C 19 (and other inspired texts) IMO

We believe in the same Jesus but a different God according to Trinity. I'm an LDS.

When I compare them, it seems like mine can beat up theirs. mine can save everyone and theirs can’t. and mine isn’t deranged- His grace goes far beyond those who seemed to guess the riddle of life correctly.

It is an excuse they employ to distance themselves from us. In reality it is a different perspective of the same Lord and Savior. They see special and specific features of The Christ. They look so closely that they can't see the whole picture. So they argue against other perspectives because all they can see is one side. They miss the Forrest for the Trees. They describe the tree in much detail. But, they are so focused on it that don't even know God, Jesus Christ is so so much more than what they see. They limit God to their own perception and all else is false in their eyes. It's a logical fallacy excuse that the devil has worked into the ways of the world of men. We can agree with much of the perspective that they see. But, as Saints of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints; we see the grand picture because of constant revelation.

That's Trinity is not even mentioned in the Bible.

Since joining the church I have had many of my “Christian” friends and family tell me it’s a different Jesus. Usually they don’t ask me what I believe or why I joined the church- they tell me. I finally told one, “listen, you’re actually pretty offensive for someone who is following our savior. I have never, in all the years I was friends with members of the church say anything against me as a follower of Christ, or tell me what they thought I believed. They were confident that I was a seeker of truth and valued that in me before I ever even thought of converting and certainly while I was investigating.” I think people are afraid to talk about the areas my faith has grown deeper so they throw up these barriers to avoid hearing our testimony.

If they are particularly obnoxious, I tell them that if they are an example of the Jesus they follow then I definitely follow a different Jesus than that. If they are a complete jerk, I might add “nor could I imagine anyone wanting to!”

Obviously there is only was Jesus, however their view of Jesus being God the Father is incorrect. With that they do worship something that He is not. In the Old Testament the Deuteronomists took out Jesus. The Book of Mormon and Isaiah kept him. Even when Jesus came to the Jews they did not recognize Him. The Father and the Son both had to appear to Joseph Smith to correct the doctrine that they are separate beings. Again, either Jesus or God the Father are being taken out of the Gospel from the Council of Nicea. So as members of The Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, we should not be so quick to say yes, we believe in the same Jesus because by doing so lessens with the role of the Father or His Son.

David or any other commenter… Can you answer what precedence Christian’s use that we believe in a different Jesus and that, that Jesus can’t save us? I’m not asking why they believe that, I understand what differences they detail. I’m asking how or why they feel they have the authority to say we believe in a different Jesus?

If the Jesus we worship is a demon, then why does a demon encourage us to keep the commandments? Why does he strengthen me to overcome my sins? Why does he give me strength to love my enemies? In short, why does he give me strength to follow the teachings in the Sermon on the mount found in Matthew 5? Wasn’t the Jesus of the New Testament also accused of casting out devils by the power of the Devil. When he was accused of such, did he not say, “A kingdom divided against itself cannot stand?” Matthew 12:25-26. In same way, if a demon gives someone the strength to follow Jesus’s teachings, isn’t that a kingdom divided against itself?

I say that if they are correct, they've picked the wrong one. In a modern Elijah challenge ours is sending down spiritual fire from the sky.

I've been a member 62 years and feel confident in saying that that is not generally predislcosed information. Are you just *hoping* he speaks or do have a friend on the inside of Church HQ? We believe in the Jesus described in the Scriptures. They believe in the Jesus invented by the Councils of the Creeds. I guess those two are a bit different. Acts 17:23

We probably do have a different Jesus. We have the real one. Protestants have no doctrine. Catholics have the nicest creed which is absurd. So yes we have the Risen Christ. And we have a bonus. We have Apostles and Prophets.
