Hi there! Thank you so much for checking out my video! So that I can find out more about my audience, please like this comment if you are a brain person (therapist, psychiatrist, neuroscientist, or other brain related professions, including if you are studying to become one of these)! Thank you(:
Hi. I'm so glad I found your channel. I'm currently trying to figure out if I want to go into the field. I'd like to study sex related differences in the brain, specifically when those happen, how are queer people's brains different, and how did the brain change during hormone therapy. But I'm not sure how much of my own research I'd get to do versus what a university would mandate I'd do. And I've hurdle that I have I'd that I've already gotten a bachelor's in public relations so getting the prerequisite undergrad background to qualify for grad school in the field seems a little daunting.
Hi there! Thank you so much for checking out my video! So that I can find out more about my audience, please like this comment if you are just casually interested in the brain! I'm happy to have you here!
Hello. I'm from middle east of asia.and I'm 13 years old Since I was a kid I have always imagined myself as a doctor in future. So I decided to read books more relevant to becoming a doctor;books like on becoming a doctor, the history of nursing, medical dictionary, the doctor' heart cure, the good doctor and so on. I have earned two " applied anatomy of the locomotor system " certification related to anatomy field and one certification bout neuroscience from edx and udemy site online courses and currently I am attending the neuroscience reconstructed :genetics and development course on edx and at the same time I am very fond of learning German language, because that can help me to become an expert in reading medical articles from German. I dropped out from my school because school could harm and delay my time to reach my goals as I planned for. But unfortunately never have I ever had the opportunity to extend my career in universities or meeting excellent and experts to guide me through this journey of mine .therefore I don't know what way should i take to create my destiny as I have always imagined. Can you help me out with this problem please 🙏 😔
Which country do you belong to.? From which part of middle East? You need to complete your School first. Without School grad University doesn't allow you to enroll in a medical degree program.? You have to go with Education board exam.
When you said you were studying females it instantly brought me back to mam phys lab and you talking about if male vs. female researchers can have an effect on cortisol levels.
Oh my god yes😂 I’ve been kinda hung up on sex differences since! I met an older PI recently who doesn’t think women should be allowed to work with mice because our cycles will throw them off and you bet I brought that up😂
Thank you for this video. I’ve been on the fence of changing my major to Neuroscience and this video just helped me finally make my decision. Keep up with these videos you’re inspiring more people than you think!!❤
Ugh! Thank you you so much. This video is packed with so much useful information and I can tell it realistic. Thank because it help me understand so much that I did not know. I hope you are doing beyond well, God bless you ✝️
THANK YOU!!! This is wildly helpful. I also love the term "Steminist". First time I've heard that. Also, thank you for the bit about volunteering in labs. That's also very helpful. Do you know what that entails? Is it like having a job where you're there every Tuesday and Thursday for a set number of hours? Also, I'm on a self-directed study course in preparation of going back to school, since I took some time away. Do you think there's any possibility of getting to volunteer in a lab without actually technically being a student at that University?
I accidentally browsed through your video while searching for head transplant possibilities. I liked couple of ethical points that you raised in that video however I don't agree with all the points. Let me tell you about myself that I don't have any backgrounds around science or the academics. Though I just like and appreciate videos about science 😁
I'm applying to undergrad college and I wanna know how your application year went(extracurriculars, school, college list). Make a video to talk about this!
I confess, I am involved in an online RP and in our newest setting that's we're start, one of my characters is a neuroscience researcher, so I am poking around the RU-vids for tidbits to inform my storytelling.
That's amazing! I'm happy that you checked out my video for your research. Can I ask what kind of campaign you're doing? I play a lot of DnD myself but haven't played anything set in the real world
Such a sweet voice! May I ask what are the steps to be a neuroscientist? What Bachelor's should to get? Thank you! This channel is very helpful and great.
Hi! Thank you so much for the question! I actually somewhat recently posted a video on this topic ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lfEdVKQQkV8.html I hope it answers all your questions!
Hi Morgan! Just discovered your channel and it's awesome! You've given a pretty clear path for someone who is doing their undergraduate degree to become a researcher, but do you have any advice for some of us who have finished their undergrads with no research experience, have gone on to work for a few years (in something mostly unrelated and super boring) and who want to switch into research in something like computational neuroscience?
Hi! That's totally valid and honestly I hate how much getting research experience relies on volunteering. There are a lot of undergrads who can't afford to volunteer either because they're working and taking classes full time! But if you've already graduated and hold a bachelors degree (doesn't matter what it's in) I really recommend applying for a research technician job in a lab! I have a video on it further down on my channel, but it's a paid job in a lab that usually requires little to no research experience! It usually pays around $30-40K a year, which isn't a ton but it's better than minimum wage. So that can get you your initial research experience and from there (if you're in the US), you can apply to Ph.D. programs. Not all Ph.D. programs pay, but most neuroscience ones will pay around $30K a year and will also pay your tuition. Hope that helps!
Hi! I just stumbled on your video because I'm interested in neuroscience. I'm a physics major right now and I think I will finish my degree and i plan to go on to grad school and study condensed matter physics. I'm wondering if there's a way that I can study neuroscience from the perspective of computational soft condensed matter physicsand how much extra schooling it would take...
I have Epilepsy and have Cerebellum Atrophy.(not develop) My neurologist does not know about the Cerebellum. To what Specialist I am suppose to go??? Thanks!
I would donate my brain to you there's stuff going on in there and I'm donating everything like a scrapped out car when I'm dead. Eyes, tissue, hair, organs, brain, limbs.. everything what's left will be cremated. None of my family and friends will see my death.
