Angel! Thank you again for inviting me to Sisters in Law. I’m so proud of the platform that you two have built to demystify the practice of law. One comment about the interview - during the playback, I noticed how many times I stated that the naysayers were right. This conversation made me realize that that’s not entirely true. All they did was point out how unlikely it was for me to succeed in this arena because it had never been done before. But, God had the final say. 👏🏾🙌🏾 Thank you for the opportunity to revisit - and more importantly - reframe this part of my journey.

Wow your story is so inspiring! I’m currently a paralegal at a probate/estate planning law firm (I’m the only Black person), and I’m preparing to apply to law school. I love this field of law and wish more Black people knew how to protect their assets so they don’t end up draining what is often a small family fortune that they have with probate and attorney fees. I have been looking for a Black woman mentor in this field because it’s so much gatekeeping like you mentioned in comparison to other areas of law, and I would love to connect with you if possible. Thank you so much for sharing your experience!!

I really enjoyed this conversation. I’m in the application cycle for 2025 and i am considering real estate law. I’ve worked in some facet of residential and CRE for the past almost 10 years and I’ve learned so much about the background of building, development and ownership.
