Hey, thank you so much for going through this. I have a question about the upcoming interview and I would want to know what kind of data would a HR analyst be working on for a greenhouse farming company? Maybe something to do with temporary workers during harvest time? How would they calculate productivity and how will the determine the numper of people to hire? Thanks in advance ☺
I know this is late, I hope you got the job. However, Hiring people is based on the amount of crops you have, which is based on the estimated quantities in the yearly budget, you can predict 1- how many tons you are going to farm that year each month, 2-how many hours do you require per each ton which will give you the total number of manhours required on monthly basis. 3-divide that by 190 hours (per employee per month) => You get how many people do you need in the greenhouse. **Its not your job to determine how many manhours required each month, Thats done by the Farm manager as per his plan You as an HR Analyst, will need to keep eye on attendance, turnover, absence, registration renuals, on-boarding new staff, training, management to staff ratio, annual balance, rewards....etc
Productivity is calculated by what we call earned value. Earned Value is defined as how many hours you should have spent (as per the budget norms) vs how many hours you have actually spent. For example: If you actually farmed 10 tons of Tomatoes, this took 1300 hours, and each ton requires 150 hours (as per the budget norms) This means You have 1500 (earned)/ 1300 (actual) = 1.15 Thats your productivity You're doing good since your workers are 15% more productive than the planned norms.
I have a phone screening for an hr analyst position and I’m nervous because I’ve only worked on the talent acquisition side of hr with some experience in payroll. What should I expect? They seem vastly different and I’m trying to understand that job more.
HR Business Partner is our latest certification. Everyday we're trying to improve and build HR University. If not today, we will come through with an HR analyst course down the line. Thanks for sharing this idea with us.

Sorry about the late response. People analytics, also known as HR analytics and talent analytics, is the use of data analysis on candidate and employee issues to understand their impact on business goals and evaluate the effectiveness of human resources initiatives.
Simple you deal with both functional and data and keep it in order. From creating, updating and archiving data. Simple as that. Hope this was more helpful instead of it being generalized.
