You really are a breathe of fresh air… I’ve always had a love for interiors, and I’ve been a ‘follower’ of your company over the past few years through Instagram first and now RU-vid. The projects you and your team create are just incredible, I love watching you take something from concept to a finished project and I always try to take little tips that I inject in my own home just to make it a bit more special and unique. Obviously being only 24, my budget is somewhat less but the skills and tips you share are so appreciated. This latest video was so lovely to watch and so refreshing, especially in a time like we find ourselves, that you project and showcase your amazing team around you that has grown alongside your journey. So often people at the top take the credit and forget to share the rewards of work and growth with their team members, it is so wonderful to see and shows how incredibly humble you are and proud of how everyone has contributed and help build SPI into the company it now is. I studied psychology and health psychology on the postgraduate level, but I would like to connect it with the interior design. I am an architect/designer and I appreciated hearing the journey of how you and your staff got where they are. Unconventional and roundabout ways. You and your team are such a source of hope, encouragement and joy! I appreciate the positive passion, it is so rare. ❤️
Personally, I think you've struck a very nice (and appreciated) balance. Ordinarily, I write off my own subjective opinion as just that: subjective. However, RU-vid execs seem to have also decided that you provide something MUCH NEEDED to their platform: polite, genuine, true professionalism. I think this is what RU-vid will be moving toward once they finally get the ad revenue to where they want it to be. In my subjective opinion, RU-vid is going to eventually be moving away from the "happy, smiling RU-vidr" that is more attention-seeking and pretend-best-friend when, the fact is, they are a complete stranger that often just wants the ad revenue to sustain their lifestyle or the narcissistic supply, or both. I suspect you don't need either. You seem to have developed an eye for the aesthetic that far too few designers actually possess, and that is even more rare to find on an online platform. I think this video is an amazing example of how a design professional with a natural eye for design aesthetic can inspire someone who may not know there is a path to this career field outside of a creative degree. What an amazing gift to share with others who may have been told, a dozen times, that they can do what they love, even though they have an extraordinary talent, for no other reason than they don't hold the "right" degree. Tis the Season, and I'm thinking this video is such an appropriate gift from your entire team to the next generation of extraordinary creative professionals (and I am NOT one of those people lol). Wishing your entire team a healthy, Happy Christmas, if they're celebrating, and a Happy Holiday season! May 2022 be everything that we hoped 2021 would be! lol (Extraordinary business advice overall: hire not only talented, but also "good" people who will do the right thing, and represent your name well. You do not get a "do over" on your public reputation).

I'm on my own journey like Sophie to follow the career I always knew was for me from a young age but doubted myself to pursue due to external opinions but I believe in me and can't wait to see what the future holds. Thank you sharing this insightful video of yourself, the company and your team, it means so much to us aspiring designers.
What ever it is that your interested in pursuing do it , otherwise you will look back with regrets. Don’t be afraid of failure as that means learning from mistakes, go for it!

You mentioned Autocad but I was wondering if you are also using other programas like Sketchup and Revit… if I had to learn and specialize in one program which one would you recommend?

This is one of the best videos I’ve watched about the industry. I’ve had an interest my whole life, but for some reason haven’t ever been able to get into it. One of the things I feel has kept me from getting going is ‘where and how to start.’ I’ve asked different people over the years, and it was once all about which college/school they attended, now I see social media seems to help a lot because people can showcase their talent. I appreciated seeing behind the scenes and I loved hearing all the stories and pathways of your different staff members. I’ve had ideas for remodeling my own home for the past few years, so at some point I hope to showcase that as my first project. 😊 I did inspire my neighbors to use some ideas I have implemented in my home already, so that’s encouraging. I’m a new fan of your channel and can’t wait to watch more.
I'd like to learn about how you decide which colors best suit an entire home so there's flow but it also allows for creating individualized spaces. How do you decide which colors the celing, trim, baseboards and doors should be so as to sustain flow?

THANK YOU for listing the software programs that you all use. My name is Erin and I currently living in Utah, US. I’ve been working really hard and spending money on trial programs that aren’t really giving the details that I need. I am currently pregnant with our second child and trying to learn and prep as much as possible before I start another design company next year. I previously (several years ago) designed holiday decor, grew up around my family’s home design business and have done some major interior design and remodeling for clients and in my own homes. This list is very exciting for my husband and I! THANK YOU!

Sophie, Thank you for such a wonderful viewpoint of what Interior Design entails. I relate to some of your early fears and concerns about starting a career in Interior Design. I have studied and watched several well known designers over the years and always wanted to learn more. Taking a staging course is simply not enough and left me a little discouraged. As it can be a challenge to get ones foot in the door. You really helped explain in much greater detail what goes on behind each project and even more importantly, what sort of technical training is needed. So thank you for clarifying that. I have always wanted to live somewhere like London or Paris. Much more schooling to complete by way of technical courses and more. But I think I'm getting closer to making a decision about Interior Design which I love and can relate to the wonderful sense of accomplishment, upon creating a beautiful space. It's like a candy store to me! So many beautiful textures and shapes. You are the first Designer who took the time and it is very much appreciated. I also want to say I absolutely love your design style and esthetics throughout the few videos I watched. I was completely drawn into each video.
