What does flesh-eating bacteria mean? 

My mom had a friend that got this while she was in a hospital. It was on her face, she ended up passing away because of how fast it spread. It's always spooked me that she got it while she was in a hospital. It was here in Houston in the 90s, just can't remember which one.
