I've spent way too much on rooster feathers. Then I found out recently that Collins closed up shop and is selling off the last of his stock. Good stuff! I wish I'd have bought more. Hopefully his stock lasts awhile and I can get a few more. I saw that he dumped all of his eggs a couple of years ago, so it's done for good. Kind of a bummer. edit - Collins Hackle Farm. Been in business for like 40 years. Tough to get though. No ordering through website - snail mail only. Checks only, no card. Sometimes they pop up on ebay.

Always fun to see the Doc. With his flock 🐥 would love to get my hands on some of those capes and necks without having to pay :-) but that being said they are worth what you pay for them . Best hackles on the planet 🌏

I wonder if he breeds them to be that small for less food consumption or if he doesn't factor it in. I've been breeding my genetic hackle a little bigger every year myself but I'm not nearly the scale of his farm so it makes sense to keep them small.

I’d love to have a few of his chics so I could get some of his calm roosters they are beautiful. It would improve the hackles on my whiting true blues. How many eggs a week do the hens lay? Are they good mothers? Egg color? Amazing!♥️

Really interesting. I just ordered some of the Whiting True Blues one of which is a male. Would I be able to breed them? What if they are from the same clutch? Inbred offspring? Would the female offspring lay blue eggs? Much respect!

Such a noisy environment. No peace or autonomy... and then randomly picked up and flipped around. No wonder they are angry....
