How do you know you are getting older?? When you click on poop videos to watch! Lol. 😂🤣😂🤣 Love it Dr Berg. Thank you for teaching me how to take care of my own health! So grateful for you and Dr Ken Berry.
I am a Registered Nurse. Home health. I’m also now in my 50’s. And beginning to understand WHY OLD FOLKS ALWAYS OBSESS ABOUT BOWEL,MOVEMENTS 😻😻😻😹😹 it is important
That's because Dr Berg is a good teacher. Some university professors don't have any idea how to teach and they expect students to do all the work. and when the some students don't understand certain things or do well they label them lazy .
Dr Berg does not recommend flushes due to the fact that bile is recycled. He recommends taking bile salt " tudca" I believe thats the name. Also choline and milk thisle as well as citrus fruits, dandalion tea, turmeric, peppermint essential oil, and black radish are all natural remedies for gallstones and liver health.
I would say that Dr. Berg is a "more ethical than average" doctor. Most doctors are employees of large "for profit" hospitals. They are working from a goal of making money. There is nothing wrong with that per se. However, this creates a situation where the doctor, who is trying to advance or just keep their job, will "treat" a patient's condition instead of "curing" that condition. That way the patient is consuming expensive pharmaceutical products and needing return visits for unnecessary follow up tests. Cha-ching! An ethical doctor's moto should be, "I WANT to put myself out of business by eliminating all disease in the first place."
jay that is absurd. Did he recommend a specific brand? You think Big Bile Salts has him in their pockets? Hilarious. The incentive is for him to produce content that connects with his audience, then his channel will grow and he receives advertising revenue. That is the incentive. Sure he has his products and his keto consultant practice in the US, but dude... you are getting a FREE medical consult and information to research on your own. Something to consider.
I will agreed with that and he is a fantastic teacher to learn more about your body and I have managed to save my appendix and my gallbladder because when I was in hospital I was watching his video's and live shows because I always learned something new every time
Thank you! Many years ago my son was poisoned in school with a pesticide (Dursban). One of many symptoms was the clay colored stools - also a swollen liver. Although the pediatrician was aware enough to do the RBC cholinesterase test to diagnose and prove the poisoning, he could never answer the questions about the stool and the swollen liver. His liver enzymes were 'normal', which I later learned does not mean 'no liver damage'. It was one of the least of our problems at the time, so never understood it. Thank you for answering my question all these years later. You are the best at giving short, simple answers to complicated questions and yes, you know more physiology than most of the MDs I know.
I have been following Eric now for years, and one of the things he says over and over that should give you hope is the liver is one of the many organs that can COMPLETELY heal itself! mind you it can take 3 years.. Your son needs to fast (when i was a kid i found it really easy to fast) and go Keto. if your fasting for at least 16-18 hours a day and you don't over eat, at dinner, or just do the 1 meal a day, and make sure that meals is Keto, your liver can heal its self. I have auto immune and i often wonder if its cuz i was poisoned as a child too. my body attacks itself when i eat sugars and gluten (wheat gluten is worse but too much of any plant protein is too hard on my liver to convert into amino acids) so my liver SUCKS, and it damages/attacks itself whenever i am stressed, which is all the time, and i have all of the above symptoms aswell.. but with fasting, it heals itself too.. but i have a very hard time "sticking too it" and so i Yo YO I was just saying to my hubby at the dinner table 5 mins ago.. i WISH i never ate gluten as a child, then i wouldn't miss it.. as i was diagnosed with allergies to eggs as a child and i never ate them growing up. when i tasted it, i hated them. My hubby made me eat eggs when i was 18. i hated them but he made them in all kinds of ways. NOW i love eggs.. IF my allergies came back, I would not be able to quit eating Eggs, so keep that in mind about your Son, You can help him SO much by creating these habbits young. I know lots of people who grew up eating very healthy. they dont like sugar.. its hard for me to believe.
@@KenWang2 Good question. I know it's my estrogen dominance and over abundance of insulin that makes me hungry, tired and fat when I eat carbs - or flax or soy (estrogen). I eat organic too - doesn't seem to matter. My question is 'why could I eat pasta in Rome and not feel this way or gain weight?' (only there a few days). I've heard others say they can't eat even organic pasta and bread in US, but can in Europe. I don't know...
@phire blu Thanks for the tip. I haven't heard of Chandra peidra, but will look into it. I do have milk thistle here and will add it to my daily arsenal.
I’m literally ruining my algorithms trying to figure out what nutrients I’m lacking bc I don’t have any other symptoms other than gray poop, and the closest I got was at the end where you said it was a diet problem and instructed to check out your whole channel to learn more. I gotta go to work, guy.
I remember one day my 5 year old called me into the bathroom to look at the stool. It was many different colors. It was shocking and we stood admiring it for awhile, laughing. We made jokes about being Special that someones #2 could be that sparkly and pretty. Then we remembered having the rainbow ice cream cones the night before. It became a secret "funny thing" between us over the years afterward that made us giggle if we got a cone from the ice cream shop. 🤣😁😃😉🌈🍦🦄
When I was a young teen my friend ate a spearament snowball and she was mean to me so Intold her I curse you to poo green. She did and was scared of me and told me to rake the curse off. 😂 after a few days I told her why she pooed green. 😂
Here we have to mention Gilbert's syndrome ( Inherited, a mild liver disorder in which the liver does not properly process bilirubin. A slight yellowish color of the skin or whites of the eyes may occur. Other possible symptoms include feeling tired, weakness, and abdominal pain. Episodes of jaundice may be triggered by stress such as exercise, menstruation, or not eating. Gilbert's syndrome is due to a mutation in the UGT1A1 gene.)
It can, also, be caused by excessive Magnesium intake. I take Magnesium, (after having watched Dr. Berg's video on it; Love the way I feel way calmer and relaxed now, by the way). The bottle says 500 mg, (2 pills daily). In the beginning, when I just started taking it, I thought, let's see if I get a faster calming effect if I take 750, or 1000, mg of it, and what do you think had happened? My stool, the very next day, turned paleish clay color. I didn't quite connect it with this whole Magnesium intake thing, right away, but a thought of it, sorta, skimmed the back of my mind. Then, as the same thing happened next day, and the day after that, I became more and more convinced that it was somehow connected with this 750-1000 mg Magnesium intake, so, I skipped one day of taking it. And what do you know? The very next morning, everything had returned to normal. Stool color was perfectly the way it is supposed to be. So, I went ahead and decided to check what would be the perfect dosage for me, and took only 1 pill, (240 mg), that same night - everything was normal next morning. Next day, I took 2 pills, (480 mg), next day - everything was still normal. However, when, the next evening, I took 3 pills, (720 mg), in the morning stool color was immediately paler and more clay color looking, (though, not as pale as when I took 1000 mg, (960), 4 pills, in the beginning). So, right there, I knew exactly what caused it, and, since then, never took more than 2 pills, (480 mg), of Magnesium per day. Just as it says on the bottle - 500 mg daily dose. P.S. To those who do need purified bile salts, I found Dr. Berg's Gull Bladder Formula quite helpful to flush the gull bladder. I do it every 3 - 4 months, just buy 1 bottle, and do a good cycle of gull bladder flush until the bottle is out, and, just a week, or so, later everything begins to flow so good, nice and easy! (I take 2-3 capsules per day; 1 in the morning, right after waking up, on empty stomach,1 before lunch, and sometimes 1 before 7 - 8 pm, on empty stomach is fine). You can try his if you want or get some other purified bile salts; Dr. Berg's are a little pricey for my wallet, to tell the truth, but, since I do it once in 3-4 months, it's OK for me.
thank you so much!! I started taking magnesium and felt calmer as well, tried 1.000mg doses as well, stool got pale as well haha, I'm taking less now and bought bile salts to take before meals because my stools were floating for the past 2 months, even when I wasn't taking supplements
Same here. Very light brown colour and shooting through… not diarrhea though. I wasn’t taking much - just 300mg. I eat a lot of green veggies though and they are rich in magnesium.
I was diagnosed years ago with Gilbert's syndrome. Elevated bilirubin, fatigue, sometimes jaundice. I was told to live with it. I have passed it down to children as well.
I know but I loved learned something new because I was fed up witb acid reflux and heart burn and I take betaine hcl for my acid reflux and heart burn now which has helped me a lot and none of my doctors didn't not know that was causing my pain and systoms
3.99M subscribers.... Wow, look how far you've come. At the rate you've been growing you'll hit 4M any day now. Congratulations 🎊 and thank you for all your hard work it's appreciated more than you know❤️❤️❤️.
2 years go i saw mahogany colored urine and we went to the emergency room (because my Doctor told me to watch my urine color) the ER doctor said I may not have survived if, I had waited. So, thanks, I hope people listen to you and appreciate your good work Gods bless you.
Since following you Dr. Berg and eating correctly, everything works so well per my body that is! lol! Amazing how well I feel at age 56. Sure wish I had know all this growing up as I was eating all the wrong foods. I remember my mom would boil all the veggies to death, cook the meat until it was tough as nails. Never ate any shell fish growing up in the Midwest USA. She didn't know either how to cook! I made it though to this age; however, I paid a price always lacking energy. Thank you Dr. Berg as it is so nice to wake up and learn what you have to teach us, even if it does not pertain to my body directly. Much love to you and your family Dr. Berg. Love 4Truth!
Ive been going to the doctor for this for years and not one doctor can find a problem. The catch is when i cut out all carbs and eat plenty of fat my poop goes a nice dark brown again. I have bile salts at home and am planning to start keto in a couple of weeks
Same here, all doctors ignored me because "only dangerous color is red" and "I don't need a solution beacuse I don't have any serious problem". It's sad that I have spend a lot of time and money on doctors and finally the solution was on a 5 minutes free youtube video.
I had these pale stool for awhile a few years ago after doing a dangerous detox, (with iboga, which cleanse out the whole body from and drug/medication in a few hours) a/w what got it back to normal color is apple vinegar. But Had pale stool yesterday tho, I think it’s cause I ate a lot of nuts this week. I read Nuts can irritate the gallbladder . So I guess I over did it. P.s I still drink AV after eating for digestion ,
Thank you so much Dr Berg, amazing information and extremely useful. My mom has solved so many health problems just by following your advice. We love you so much in my family 💕
If you found this video intriguing, you may also be interested in knowing the indicators of a healthy gut! They include: colon transit time of 12-24 hours, type 4 stool on the bristol stool chart, not having diarrhea or constipation, having 1-3 bowel movements per day, and light-dark brown colored stools!
I ate too many black olives once and thought I had beetles in my poo. Freaked out because I don't eat beetles. Mom pointed out it was undigested olives from eating the entire can. Whew, thank God! Scared myself good with that. THEN another time I ate so many pickled beets that I pooped purple for several days.😁😳
At age 4 ( my now 26 year old), tested positive for Lupus. (Was prescribed different antibiotics almost monthly for about a year and half due to chronic ear infections due to tonsilitus... they refused to remove tonsils). For many years, the stool was ALWAYS a beige color. Doctors ignored that fact. This is the first time I've ever heard someone address this.
God bless you no doctor will explain this to us in this simple so docter Berg you think psoriasis is from the bile back up on our skin causing this Inflemation please answer me ,thanks 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸
Dr. Berg please bring back the whiteboard. I used to write down notes from it, taking down correct spellings.... Now, the screen shifts too fast. Not able to cope up.
So glad you talked about pale colored stool. Last year I had a blockage of some duct and I got violently ill and after that I had yellow stools for a couple days before going back to brown. One doctor I went to told me it was the flu and brushed me off. Finally found another doctor that diagnosed pancreatic insufficiency and prescribed me Creon. I've been doing much better ever since.
@@Stargazer9900 I told my doctor (endocrinologist) that I had pain on the left side with eating and she knew it was my pancreas. I also had vitamin and mineral deficiencies.
@Becky Finley How did they diagnose the pancreatic insufficiency? What kinds of tests or procedures did they run? I’ve had yellow stool since at least October. In December I noticed orangish oil separated from the stool. Testing has shown my amylase (starch digesting enzyme) is low. My lipase (fast digesting enzyme was normal). I’ve been told to go to a gastroenterologist but there is a 3 month wait at least and I’m getting alarmed. I also have bad gas. I have type 1.5 diabetes (LADA).
I was perfectly fine until I started drinking too much lemongrass tea. I would buy fresh lemongrass & boil it. After a couple of weeks I started getting yellow poop & it’s BEEN 6 months & it’s STILL yellow everyday. I finally saw a GI Dr & he didn’t say anything about it other than he wants to put a camera down my throat. I think I messed something up in my body from drinking that:(
I am an over the road truck driver and have ate terrible food and drinks over the past 15 years. I have been making a concerted effort to change that. My stools are constantly liquid and the only way to keep that from happening is taking Imodium each day. What can I do to help start producing solid stools?
What if your stool is clay or pale colored but no other symptoms are there such as dark urine, jaundice, itchiness etc.? I have been doing IF and OMAD and I am not experiencing any of the mentioned above except for the color of stool (after I switched to OMAD)? What could this possibly mean?
The irony is even the M.D.'s don't have an answer, not even the specialists. Been around this block since my 20's ( i am now 49) and all I ever get is a perplexed look on their faces. I've been pooping like a champ since 2010, when I corrected my diet, and learned in 2018 from Dr. Berg WHY it's been corrected. I no longer have pale floaters.
this was SUPER helpful thank you! Was pretty sure I knew it was something to do with my bile ducts, and coupled with some upper right abdomen pain, Im pretty confident that I have gallstones blocking a duct. I am over weight (working on that) I find I tend to over eat per sitting. So I'm going to try to reduce my meals, not so much my calories, and do a detox. I just did a gallstone flush, and it was pretty productive. Abdomen pain is gone! stones passed, now I will run on keto for 2 weeks.
@@TheSunnites I did a pretty standard Olive oil, lemon juice flush. Most people on RU-vid etc do this cleans. Starts with no fat diet for a few days. An enema, Epson salt water (worst part) and then the olive oil lemon juice. Was nasty... most of it, and the end result wasn't pretty... but it was productive and interesting.
Same thing for me....if I eat too many nuts it happens-if I stop them for a few days it returns to normal and stays normal as long as I eat reasonable (serving size) of nuts. Which I might add, can be difficult sometimes because I tend to binge on them.... 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
Daniella, same with my mom. She had hers taken out before I got introduced to Dr Berg. If only I knew then what I know now. Anywho, if you aren't already taking ox bile/bile salts, I'd start because you need them to break down the fat and fat soluble vitamins before your levels drop too low.
@Dr berg, thank you for this video and your hard work😊...You've single handed saved my life countless times - well God pointed me to you 3 years back... In the list of videos to do, Please make a video about being allergic to green tea. ( I break out hives)
You're the first person I've heard say this! Once I bought a huge line of skin care based on green tea....I was so red and swollen....I returned it and the store looked at me like I lost my mind!
@@angelavannucci2443 I think there is a lot of us but people don't associate their symptoms with green tea.. I drink two cups of green tea and my whole body is covered with hives... I thought it was something else until I drank green tea with nothing else, eating nothing...
Can you have pale stool without being a little yellow or having yellow urine? Ever since I started my low carb journey my urine is colorless and I only get pale stool if I eat too much dairy and little to no fatty meat.
Thank You Dr Berg! Yes, someone needs to talk about it and it might as well be you =D I'm taking care of and cooking for a friend who has a brain tumor and she also has no gall bladder : I bought some of your GallBladderFormula for her and (and was planning on getting the bile salts), but she refuses to take it, and she has all kinds of digestive problems (but she'll take those otc acid reflux pills and other crap!) So frustrating trying to steer a stubborn person to the right path..
Hi Dr. Berg, I have been following a keto diet for over 3 years. I first had this issue when I started doing keto and still have it from time to time should I be concerned? Is there something wrong with my liver? I have annual blood work done and my doctor says everything looks great but you are kinda freaking me out with the blockage issue.
Thanks for sharing on this topic! To add to this, a recent trend has been to do the blue poop challenge using blue-dyed muffins to determine colon transit time, which can indicate how healthy the gut is. These recipes, however, tend to have ingredients that are not great for gut health (sugar, refined wheat, food dyes, etc.). Instead, to check colon transit time, you can use organic corn or beets! Just consume 1/2 - 3/4 cup of either organic corn or beets. You will see corn in the stool because our bodies aren't able to break it down all the way. If you eat beets, you will see red in your stool! So write down the date and time that you start seeing the food in your stool, and the date and time that it stops. Then, figure out how much time is in-between those dates and times. Normal transit time is 12-24 hours!
Doc I have this issue pale stools I eat low carb I had RNY a year ago lost 134 pounds I'm a USA size 4/6 I was getting worried um glad I found this video will get bile salts
I just had a bathroom movement. And my stool was pale. It was normal brown yesterday. I feel fine . I don’t see joundice or yellowing. I’m urinating clear. I’m a little scared. I’m gonna try the bio salts. And see if it helps.
@@mryoung205 I’m ok. Was a little nervous. But realized I ate a lot of fatty foods that week. And noticed a pale stool movement. But after a 3 day fast and eating plant base and leaner meats. I was back to normal
I feel like it was irresponsible for this doctor to be pushing the Keto diet when that is exactly what my liver cirrhosis and gall bladder do not need. This type of diet can cause fatty liver or even liver failure in a cirrhosis patient like myself.
Hey dr berg, bile salts make me feel more bloated after taking them because I have low stomach acid. So I take betaine hcl with them but it makes it worse. I try apple cider vinegar but that also doesn’t help, it causes delayed gastric emptying and pain in my abs. Can u offer any advice plzz.
snooky12 I never take any of those things on empty stomach. It’s a shame the betaine hcl doesnt help at all. I hear it helps so many people. Thanks for ur advice, il check them out
Info Ra, I was at church and the pastor said he felt someone there needed healing for digestive issues So I approached him and he prayed for me and I’ve never had a problem since. This was about 18 months ago
Not everybody gets the same commercials. You can go into your RU-vid and Google settings and design the type of commercials you get. I actually love how the commercials serve me. They do all my shopping for me ( I hate shopping), keep me up to date on the financial world, find jobs for me, and have even aided me into adopting a new career path. I don't remember exactly how I did it, but just start exploring your settings.
Hi. I'm in Australia. My skin is irritable and itchy. I have eleveated Bilirubin. Pancreas Amylase was also a little above the norm. Where can I get purified bile salt from ?
have you tried to flush you gallstones? there are really good videos on here of people doing it, and I just did it. it was alot of work but i just saw my... stuff go from pale to brown over the course of 4 days, and my pain form gallstone blockage is gone :)
Dr Berg, I went to the ER after cramping pain in my abdomen and upper legs...turns out they couldn’t find anything except a slightly higher than normal blood pressure...no blood clots (they did leg ultrasound) or anything weird...dr said maybe I was dehydrated...sooo I went back home, still in pain, and took ur electrolyte powder, & 400 mg of potassium pills and some pickle juice...a few hrs later went to the bathroom and all pain has been gone ever since. I also cured my heartburn with cabbage (coleslaw) pursuant to ur advice from 1 of ur old viddies...I told the ER dr this (he’s the medical director of this fine ER facility) & he looked at me and suggested i take some pepcid & totally disregarded my cabbage therapy...dr’s know the basics of diet & exercise but they don’t know the healing properties of food...sooo frustrating. I bought ur sea kelp & it just arrived today. But anyway, I became a Dr Berg fan after instant heartburn healing by just making some coleslaw...brilliant!! Thank you for caring for me without even knowing me ha!!
5:31 Doctors know that meds are not the answer . They know all about eating correctly. But, if they don't prescribe meds. Then they won't get kick backs from the Pharm companies. Kick backs like : paid vacations, tickets to ball games , eTC. just my opinion but with a lot of knowledge behind my opinion.
Lorelei, you just answered what I came looking for here, I had two toned stool today, it almost looked like pieces of fat attached to the regular stool colour. I am day 4 of Carnivore.
@@DrBergArabic The same tone of his voice, away from the microphone echo, is changing. His appearance is also variable and he has not made videos in the studio for two days. But We all hope he's fine, of course.🌷🌷🌷🌷
