“The mistreatment of women was considered perfectly normal…” It was common. That doesn’t mean the entire society was okay with it. I’m sure women didn’t think, ‘Well, this is just how it normally goes.’
@@quiara_playz9296Colossians 3:18: “You wives, be in subjection to your husbands, as it is becoming in the Lord.” Ephesians 5:22-24 also speaks of wives being in subjection to their husbands as to the Lord. This is in harmony with God’s arrangement since every living creature in heaven and on earth is subject to someone. Even Jesus is in subjection to God. (1 Corinthians 11:3)
It doesn’t say “submit no matter what,” and actually it talks more about how husbands should love their wives how God loves the church and to treat them well.
The Bible honors women to submit to their husbands, and the husband is to submit to their wives as well. Stop with the misinformation and slandering things you aren't aware of. If the husband's way of living is contradictory to scripture, the wife has the right to not submit to her husband.
