We firmly uphold the clear teaching of 1 Timothy 2:11-12, "...I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man..." This episode is not about whether women are allowed to violate the teaching of Scripture. This episode is about whether it is possible for a woman to serve as a pastor in a way that does not violate 1 Timothy 2:11-12.

Women can serve God in meaningful ways without having to be called pastors. Culture doesn’t define who we are, God does. Our identity shouldn’t rest in our titles on this earth, but on the title that God has given us for all eternity. If we follow Him then we are His children and we live and breathe for an audience of One.

The authority that women have taken over men in today's world is very problematic, and Christians who hold that women can be pastors are totally influenced by the world as well as blinded by the world. As for praying, all the churches I've attended who let women pray end up having mostly women praying. Men become passive when women become active.

Most men are intimidated by strong women, that’s why they jump on this no women bandwagon. There are many great woman preachers in this world that are blessed by God, anointed by God and used by God and pastor great congregations doing great work for the Kingdom. Paul wrote this to Timothy in Greek and the Greek word ‘aner’ was used meaning husband, but translations have used man not husband. Paul meaning was that a woman was not to have authority over her husband and that fits with with his instructions in 1 Cor 7. The Bible can be used to support any theory you want to put forth, this error is just one of many. If you want to be correct get a Greek/ English translation or better yet learn Greek.

The Professor was asked her view on; Can women serve as teaching/shepherding roles over men in the church? (14:05 in the video) After she beats around the bush for a while, her response was "Do I believe men and women should be senior pastors? - No." So she doesn't believe men or women should have teaching/shepherding roles? That's her view, but it is not scripturally based, it's clear that men are to hold the teaching/shepherding roles in the church. Why did she have to muddy the waters by throwing men in the answer, that was not part of the question.

It appears that she is clearly choosing to interpret the Bible to keep lock step with the narrative society has placed on her. We all must remember that God is in charge. God established the rules, for our own good. He is the creator and therefore has the authority. She also referenced under what authority did Paul say this…. What the heck, are you serious!? Answer: under God’s authority. AKA Jesus’s authority.

Her response directly shows why us women are not to be Pastors… and we tend to bring in to much our own opinion… plus I have seen time and time again that many fallen churches are as a result of ideas of New Age practices brought into the Church by the influence of the spouse of a Pastor. Leading a congregation astray😰.

When a ministry sounds more like the world than the Word, you should repent and pray from your knees that God sets you back on the narrow path forsaking the societal correctness that many of us see in this episode. To us, this is not a debatable question and you are now enabling confusion for brothers and sisters whom read one thing clearly in scripture, but hear doubt and debate surrounding it from ministries that don’t want to offend or sound sexist to the world. I do not know if I missed something,.....but it seemed like 30 minutes of avoiding a direct answer. Scripture does not support the idea of Women being Pastors (as in having "Spiritual Authority" over Men). - 1 Timothy 2:12 (ESV) - I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet. This is a tricky verse, and maybe a little hard for some people to understand. But when we have a verse or verses that seem unclear, we should look at the Bible, to see if there are other verses to help make it clear. For those that think this was just a cultural thing of the times, Paul takes us back to Creation in 1 Timothy 2:13-14,..... - 1 Timothy 2:13-14 (ESV) - For Adam was formed first, then Eve; 14 and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor. It was always God's intent that man was to be the leader from the beginning. - 1 Timothy 3:1 (ESV) - The saying is trustworthy: If anyone aspires to the office of overseer, he desires a noble task. In the New Testament, the words "Overseer, Bishop, Elder, and Pastor" are used interchangeably. They are synonyms. Notice the Third Person Masculine Pronoun "He" that Paul uses, which means a man. - 1 Timothy 3:2 (ESV) - Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, Notice that Paul says "husband of one wife", which means a woman cannot be a husband. - 1 Timothy 3:4 (ESV) - He must manage his own household well, with all dignity keeping his children submissive, Notice again that the words "He" and "his" are used. - As far as talking about Phoebe,.....It all depends on what translation you read. Some say Deacon, some say Deaconess, and some say Servant. Scripture is not completely clear whether or not a woman can serve as a deacon. It is unclear, though, whether Paul is saying Phoebe is a Deacon or whether he is just saying she is a servant. In the early church, women servants cared for sick Believers, the poor, strangers, and those in prison. They instructed women and children (Titus 2:3-5). Phoebe may not have had the official designation of “Deacon”, but Paul thought enough of her to entrust her with the tremendous responsibility of delivering the epistle to the Romans to the church in Rome (Romans 16:1-2). Clearly, he saw her not as inferior or less capable, but as a trusted and valued member of the body of Christ. Scripture does not give much support to the idea of women serving as Deacons, but it does not necessarily disqualify them, either. Some churches have instituted the office of Deaconess, but most differentiate it from the office of Deacon. If a church does institute the position of Deaconess, the church leadership should ensure that the Deaconess is in submission to the restrictions Paul places on the ministry of women in other passages (such as 1 Timothy 2:11-12), just as all leadership is to be in submission to the church authority structure and ultimately to our supreme authority, Christ Jesus. Women in ministry is an issue upon which Bible-Believing Christians can and do disagree. There is no scriptural precedent that forbids women from also serving as worship leaders, youth ministers, or children’s directors. The only restriction is that they do not assume a role of "Spiritual Authority" over adult men. Since the concern in Scripture appears to be the issue of spiritual authority rather than function, any role that does not bestow such spiritual authority over adult men is permissible.

I wouldn’t support calling anyone Pastor, deacon, elder or any of those titles. Correct me if I’m wrong, but the apostles called every one brother or sister. Paul and Peter for sure were creating churches and spreading Gods word yet didn’t write anything about making sure people had titles before their name. In fact Matthew 23:8-12 says otherwise. I don’t believe there is supposed to be a hierarchy in the church which I believe these titles have in part led too. We are the body and we are all needed. The only one at the head is Jesus. The fact that for most Sunday gatherings, the majority just come in hear a sermon and go home doesn’t seem right. There’s so much more I feel about that but it’d be too much for a YT comment. Back to pastors though, they are meant to shepherd yet most people don’t even know their ‘pastor’ on a personal level. Teaching the Bible and pastoring the congregation I believe are two separate entities. The church I feel is supposed to be way more intimate than it is, but I feel like it operates more like an organization. That isn’t to say the Holy Spirit isn’t in some of these gatherings, but I believe we need to go back to Gods word and see where we can improve on how to structure it.

Just as in marriage, what happen when men has a dominated partner: they go astray. Woman pastors can prophesies in the church but not given authority over men (telling men what they should or should not do, that responsibility is reserved for man pastors). See, it is not so hard to understand. And a married woman pastor would fail as a wife, therefore prophetess are single.

This is a very simple concept: do you believe that the Bible is the word of God? If so, God makes it very clear. Women are not to be pastors. God made men and women different, with different roles. Both roles are important. If a woman is not to be a pastor, then she has her own role that is just as important and that should not be downplayed. In this culture, Satan has worked very hard to blur these lines and even flip these roles. Christians need to stop living this culture.

I suggest my short and free essay on Deborah. Men and women are perfectly equal spiritually. She was a pastor, according to the scriptures. This is how the Judges are described in Chronicles. God ruled Israel through the Judges. A Judge was the most important spiritual leader of that time period according to scripture. When a Judge died the people went back to their sinful ways. To say a woman can be a Judge over Israel, but a woman can't be an elder in a small church, just doesn't make any sense scripturally.

When the stone was rolled away it was women who first saw an angel and went out and told everyone ( maybe not everyone) I’m not saying that women should be above men. But don’t women have a duty to share the gospel with men and women? Men are supposed to be the head of their household biblically. Where was Adam when Eve was at the forbidden tree? If he was standing right next to her why didn’t he step in and say absolutely not Eve and cast satan out right then and there? Unfortunately today, there are a lot of men who are not leading their households biblically. If the wife is Spiritually driven more than the man, then isn’t it her duty to tell her husband to step up? 1 Timothy 3:1-12; Titus 1:5-9

WOMAN TEACHING/RULING OVER MAN 1 Corinthians 14:34-35 NIV [34] Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says. [35] If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church. 1 Timothy 2:9-15 NIV [9] I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, [10] but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God. [11] A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. [12] I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet. [13] For Adam was formed first, then Eve. [14] And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner. [15] But women will be saved through childbearing-if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety.

Prophecy and evangelism are gifts but pastoring is more of an office, I'd say. Women can obviously be prophets and evangelists according to scripture, but I believe Jesus choose 12 men as disciples and one day, apostles and teachers, for a reason. We need to get back to a sense of order in Western society. A pastor is like a husband and father to his local congregation, yet many of the female ministers I've known over the years often fell into chaos by leading their church with unstable emotionalism; this was a disaster for everyone.

you wrote: Women can obviously be prophets and evangelists according to scripture, but I believe Jesus choose 12 men as disciples and one day, apostles and teachers, ... The gospel is a teaching. The first and most important of all. If a woman can teach a man the gospel, she can teach all the lesser teachings to men. This is logic. Even in the teaching/preaching of the gospel, a man may ask a woman about something scriptural/spiritual. So if the man asks about the so-called 7 deadly sins, she can't say a word? If indeed she can speak to him about this as an unsaved man, then she can't once he becomes saved? When all this becomes about gender, instead of the Holy Spirit, there is confusion.

1 tim 2 and 1 cor 14;35 in 1 tim paul talks about ONE woman who was not allowed to teach ONE man because she usurped authority over the man. no believer has the right to usurp the authority over the other. nor man nor a woman. paul used singular form in that passage and spoke about one specific woman. not to women in general. especially that just a few verses earlier paul was addressing the issue of modesty and spoke about women in general, in PLURAL form. God does know the difference between plural and singular. in 1 cor 14;35 where it says that women are not allowed to speak in church paul meant that women were not supposed to CHAT (disturb by talking, chatting) in the church. a few verses earlier in that same chapter paul was saying in verse 26 paul says "How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying." - that means that each, whether a man or a woman is supposed to share a teaching, a revelation, or any other thing they receive from God in order to edify the church. col 3;16 "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord." - again, the same paul says here that we all are to TEACH and ADMONISH one another when we gather together. also in 1 cor 11 paul (3 chapters earlier) paul talks about women praying and prophesying in church - so he could not mean in 1 cor 14;35 that women cannot speak. most teaching on the subject of family and women's role are based on man's traditions and ignorance and pride, not on the Word of God. which is very sad. additionally, pastor is not a position of authority not a title. it is a role and a function. being a pastor means you take care of the sheep, of other believers, help them in whatever they need you to do. you dont even have to teach others. you are a care giver. also, in 1 tim 2;5 we read that there is only One Mediator between God and men. when you accept another person, another human being as your head, authority or a priest/pastor then you make that person an antichrist because they stand in the PLACE of Christ. the Lord Yeshu Hamashiyah said in mat 23;10 "Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ." there is only ONE AUTHORITY over us and that is only Lord Yeshu Hamashiyah. the Bible says that husband and wife are one flesh so they are one head and they are both submitted to the only Headship of the Lord Yeshu Hamashiyah and they are to be submitted one to another (eph 5;21). when you look at people through their gender you look at them through their flesh... that is being carnally minded.

I find some of the comnenta on here baffling, as if they know more about a subject than a proff so they so they dont listen. Im sure God instructs us not to be stupid but yet they are willing to demonstrate theirs in public. Just educate yourselves and stop it! If you want to demonstraite you are worth listening to , listen to what she says and then argue biblically against her points.

All she is doing is muddying the water simply said. God is a God of order which she is twisting His Oder. Egalitarianism has no place in the church. Woman’s liberation has brought this in to the church. Which as we all know if satan can he will destroy Gods Church. But thanks be to God He said it will prevail! Women can minister to women as well children in the church context. Not pastors.

They are many thousands of women pastors in this world who clearly are anointed by the Holy Spirit serving God and leading congregations of thousands. Paul’s comments where clearly cultural and not spiritual.

I'm NOT watching this whole video because it starts off wrong...with "stuttering" on this subject (from both of them) and being scared to say what the word says. One more stutter from this channel, I might just unsubscribe. These things are NEVER controversial for those that REALLY walk with Christ, it is only controversial for the WORLD...the Bible is clear.

Yes absolutely how I feel now too. In fact, being that this was actually the CEO/ founder of the ministry, I am leaning towards unsubscribing now. Compromise has weakened the Body of Christ and we must be bold in doctrine no matter what.

That it is controversial in the world is the reason the channel is here. If you do not want to deal with the false beliefs of unbelievers, you should unsubscribe. As for stuttering, did not Moses complain to God he did not speak well? Yet God used him. Your complaint about stuttering comes off more like discrimination, since stuttering is the only reason given for something being wrong, for is it not the Lord God who makes a person's mouth (Exodus 4:11)?

@@deanfry879 When I say stutter I mean in heisitation. No, this channel wasn't made for the world but for those that want to follow Christ.

@Spiritual Fire_Jacob Israel Then please be more careful with words like stutter, so you don't offend people you were not meaning to. Even so, there are a lot of people who have a hard time with public speaking, even with years of practice. I agree with you these things ought to be easy to grasp and understand just by reading what the Scriptures say, but that is unfortunately not the world we live in.

Ok what about other people, like the atheist channels who do put out some really good content and debate or fine rebuttals to other channels claims. A good channel for freedom but more on the Atheist side is “Liberty in our lifetime” and look at their channels tab. There is plenty of atheists there who have debunked many claims by some of the biggest Religious channels on here and these Christian channels don’t allow debate on their channels as they don’t allow commenting. As much as it hurts, The Atheist clearly has more thoughtful thinking and evidence to back up what they say. So religious channels really don’t stand a chance this is why I think they don’t try to rebuttal them. I’m really having doubts about religion and such.

Hi Lynette, with all due respect, firstly, she was a judge, not a priest. There never was a female Levite priest. Secondly, she was a once off, exception. There can't be continually exceptions for female "pastors". Thirdly, it is strange to me that people seem to think that preaching to "only other women and children" is lesser than preaching to men. Women and children are so so precious to God, what an honour we are able to serve them, as women.
