What is the meaning of "Yet she will be saved through childbearing" in 1 Timothy 2:15 and how does it apply to whether women can serve as pastors? What does it mean that "the women should keep silent in the churches" in 1 Corinthians 14:34? A conversation with Dr. Sandra Glahn.

1 Timothy 6:12-16 [12]Fight the good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. [13]I charge you in the presence of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who testified the good confession before Pontius Pilate, [14]that you keep the commandment without stain or reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, [15]which He will bring about at the proper time-He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords, [16]who alone possesses immortality and dwells in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see. To Him be honor and eternal dominion! Amen. 2 Timothy 1:1-11 [1]Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, according to the promise of life in Christ Jesus, [2]To Timothy, my beloved son: Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. [3]I thank God, whom I serve with a clear conscience the way my forefathers did, as I constantly remember you in my prayers night and day, [4]longing to see you, even as I recall your tears, so that I may be filled with joy. [5]For I am mindful of the sincere faith within you, which first dwelt in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am sure that it is in you as well. [6]For this reason I remind you to kindle afresh the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. [7]For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline. [8]Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord or of me His prisoner, but join with me in suffering for the gospel according to the power of God, [9]who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity, [10]but now has been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel, [11]for which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle and a teacher. 1 Corinthians 12:7 [7]But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. This is a deeper understanding of what we see in 1 and 2 Timothy. In 1 Timothy we see that Paul commands Timothy to hold this commandments until the appearance of our Lord Jesus Christ. In 2 Timothy we see our Lord comming, according to how Paul decribes it. In 1 Corinthians 12 we see how the Holy Spirit manifests Hinself. We know that the Holy Spirit is Christ.

That’s been my question every time I hear this. That seems to align with Catholic logic & why they do not believe in solo scriptura, because that requires you to adhere to every scripture. I haven’t seen any other scriptures contradict the “specific teachings” of one church against another church. They always align & if we think they do not align then we should seek where WE are wrong in our thinking.

Because it was , Paul was talking to the church in Corinth , not everyone - yes we may look at those teachings and apply them today but this doesn’t mean what Paul said in Corinth is applicable to every circumstance and every church. If you read your bible Paul also tells prophets and tongue speakers to keep quiet literally a few verses before he addresses the women - yet when we interpret the verses above we understand that Paul ddnt mean prophets and tongue speakers must remain quiet forever and in every church under all circumstances 😂😂 so why do we interpret the verse after as women should keep quiet in church forever and ever amen????

This is why the Bible version one uses is very important. The CEV and the CEB, both remove the male/man component from scripture. Thereby they can reference ‘their’ Bible and meet the qualifications (look at it and see-evil translation)… for example “if a man is blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of dissipation or insubordination.” Is translated, “they must have a good reputation and be faithful in marriage.” Lord help us.

@justmytwobits He did. By illuminating the mind of some translators. The original Greek says, "If ANYONE (emphasis mine) desires to be... " And then Paul goes on to say... men shld be husband of one wife... then further goes on to say "likewise women.... ". Polyandry was not a thing. Polygamy was. Why not all translators made accurate translations is something only God knows but the ESV for example is biased- all male committee with male headship mindset. A Deborah or a Huldah or a Miriam or a Mary called the Magdelene... these perspectives are lost on them and their readers.

@@Ladynilow You have a fundamental misunderstanding of what the bible says about slavery and you dont seem to understand that the word means something entirely different than the American definition. The bible says to be kind to your slaves and treat them well as well as saying you can only have a slave for 6 years and on the 7th they go free. It is basically talking about a job where very poor people worked for very rich people who gave them a much better life than any other possible outcome they could have hoped for. Those poor people got to live in nice houses and eat good food instead of being truly poor and usually homeless. Then they were free after 6 years but usually decided to stay with a caring and fair owner. The word slavery was poorly translated from old language to new. It's not like people were going and stealing people by force (Like the Africans did to other Africans) and selling them off to people who didn't think of them as human at all. White slave owners in America misused the bible to justify owning slaves while completely ignoring what the scriptures actually said about being kind and fair to them as well as giving them freedom on the 7th year. Their are radicals in every religious practice and in christianity unfortunately.

I do not understand why the man in the video didn't advocate for Biblical truth. God's word is explicitly clear. Women are not to have spiritual and teaching authority over men. The lady in the video is making incidental and nonsensical arguments to condridict God's word. She is openly denying God's word and the man is claiming we don't have to be divided over issues and we can agree to have different Biblical interpretations of God's explicit word that only men are qualified as pastors in the church. Their actions in this video clearly violate God's will.

Mary Magdalene was ORDERED by Jesus to preach of His resurrection to men. The resurrection of Jesus is a key part of the gospel. But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised. For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied. -excerpt 1 Corinthians 15 When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, and yet she did not know that it was Jesus. Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?” Thinking that He was the gardener, she said to Him, “Sir, if you have carried Him away, tell me where you put Him, and I will take Him away.” Jesus said to her, “Mary!” She turned and said to Him in Hebrew, “Rabboni!”. Jesus said to her, “Stop clinging to Me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to My brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and My God and your God.’” Mary Magdalene came and announced to the disciples, “I have seen the Lord,” and that He had said these things to her. -excerpt John 20

I definitely understand why Christians have different views on the women pastor issue. There's many Christians who think it's a sin for women to be pastors, and there's many Christians who think it's not a sin for women to be pastors. Most women pastors that I know aren't intentionally trying to rebel against what the Bible says. It's not sexist to be against women pastors. I believe that men and women should be treated fairly, and I believe that men and women shouldn't be wrongfully discriminated against, but at the same time, men and women are different from one another, and sometimes the differences between men and women need to be taken into consideration in some circumstances which is why there's nothing wrong with boys and girls being separated for Sex Ed classes in schools since there's questions boys might ask that would be embarrassing with girls in the class, there's nothing wrong with Men's Retreat events, Women's Retreat events since men need events with other men without women being around due to the differences between men and women, women need events with other women without men being around due to the differences between men and women, etc. Priscilla, Aquilla, Phoebe, etc in the Bible were ministry leaders; they weren't pastors of churches. I can't find any specific examples of women pastors in the Bible. Some people think it's a sin for women to be pastors due to 1 Timothy 3 mentioning how pastors need to be the "husband of one wife". Some people think "husband of one wife" means pastors have to be men since women can't be the "husband of one wife". The thing is "husband of one wife" isn't meant to be taken literally. The Greek word for "husband of one wife" in 1 Timothy 3 is “Mias gunaikos andra” which means one woman man, someone who's not a player, someone who doesn't struggle with adultery, etc. When the Bible says that pastors need to be the "husband of one wife", it means that pastors need to be people who don't struggle with adultery, who aren't players, who aren't womanizers, etc. If "husband of one wife" was meant to be taken literally, that would mean single people can't be pastors since husband implies being married, but it's not a sin for single people to be pastors. Paul, Timothy, and Titus were pastors of churches, and they were never married, and God approved of them being pastors. Some people think it's a sin for women to be pastors because the Bible says in 1 Timothy 3 that "He must manage his household well, be gentle, be honest, be able to teach", etc. Some people think since the word he is used, it implies that only men can be pastors, but the thing there's all kinds of examples of masculine words being used in the Bible where the situation applies to both men and women. When the Bible says in Matthew 10:37 that "he that loveth a mother or father is not worthy of me", the situation applies to both men and women even though the word he is used in that verse. When Matthew 5:28 says "Whosever looks at a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery in his heart", the situation applies to both men and women even though the word his is used. 1 Timothy 2 is a difficult passage of scripture to interpret, which is why there's varying opinions among Christians on the women pastor issue. 1 Timothy 2 says "I do not permit a woman to have spiritual authority over a man for Adam was formed first; it was not Eve was not deceived; women will be saved through childbearing if they continue in faith". It's very hard to tell whether 1 Timothy 2 is a universal principle of Timothy restricting women in general from being pastors or a cultural specific situation of Timothy restricting the women in Ephesus that are false prophets from teaching false doctrine to people. The whole context of 1 Timothy is Timothy ministering to people in Ephesus. 1 Timothy is about women in Ephesus teaching false doctrine to people, false doctrine being addressed, and Timothy ministering to the people in Ephesus. There's a lot of strong evidence that Gnosticism was one of the false doctrines being taught in Ephesus since Gnostics believed Eve was created first, women are better than men, Eve wasn't tricked by Satan in the Garden of Eden, childbearing can send women to hell, etc. If 1 Timothy 2 is a cultural specific situation of Timothy restricting the women in Ephesus that are false prophets teaching false doctrine from pastoring, that means it's not a sin for women to be pastors. If 1 Timothy 2 is a universal situation of Timothy restricting all women for being pastors of churches, that means women shouldn't be pastors.

She was a pastor, according to the scriptures. This is how the Judges are described in Chronicles by God. A woman could only be given the authority by God to execute a man for his sin, if women are spiritually equal to men. A Judge could judge homicide cases according to Deuteronomy. Therefore a Judge could execute a man. Any doctrine that is in opposition to what God actually did is a false doctrine, and must be rejected.

But it came about, when the judge died, that they would turn back and act more corruptly than their fathers, in following other gods to serve them and bow down to them; they did not abandon their practices or their obstinate ways. -excerpt Judges 2 From earlier today to someone else: A Judge had the authority to judge murder cases. Premeditated murder was a sin. That sin demanded the death penalty. This is spiritual authority to the highest degree. This was during the Old Covenant. There are no 'roles' now that are gender specific. There was no gender requirement in being a Judge over Israel. @user-iz8np3vv4i Год назад
@@deanfry879 Complementarianism That false and confusing teaching, that states Christian women are less than Christian men in a spiritual way, but they really aren't, but they really are. The complementarian teaching prohibits a Christian woman from holding certain positions in a church. They can't be elders neither can they teach men. So why is that? The false teaching makes it clear that the priesthood of the New Covenant is tiered. There is a hierarchy. Those that are higher, the men, can be in leadership positions, like elder. They can teach other men. Those in the lower tier can not be in leadership positions, like elder. They are prohibited from teaching men, because the men are in the higher tier. It wouldn't make any sense. A new believer is automatically assigned their level, higher or lower, at the moment of salvation, as a birthright. Their gender determines their tier. A Christian can not move to a higher or lower tier. A Christian that is in the lower tier (woman) is not allowed to complain of the tier she was placed in. That would be sin, because God made her a woman by His choice. She should accept and also embrace her position in the lower tier. A church, is either a group of Christian men or a group of Christian men and women. A church can never be a group of Christian women, because it would be a group of only those in the lower tier. It would have no elders. But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; for you once were not a people, but now you are the people of God; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. -excerpt 1 Peter 2 Since the teaching states that women are spiritually inferior to men, but they aren't, but they are, when did that start? But I do not allow a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet. For it was Adam who was first created, and then Eve. And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a wrongdoer. -excerpt 1 Timothy 2 It started with the first woman. She was deceived, and sinned because of it. So we have a teaching that accepts that men and women are fallen beings. Both genders are sinful by nature. However women are different. They are lacking the ability that men have to judge if some situation, some concept or teaching is sinful. This inability was passed down from Eve to all women. It remains to this day. A woman in our time was 'lacking' from birth, even from the womb. So what can be done? Nothing according to Complementarianism. That is because an anointing of that powerful masculine being called the Holy Spirit, is just not sufficient. Even the Holy Spirit can not elevate even one Christian woman to the spiritually superior level of a Christian man.

Since a woman could be a pastor in the Old Covenant, a woman can be a pastor in the New Covenant. Simple really. I suggest my short and free essay on Deborah. Men and women are perfectly equal spiritually. She was a pastor, according to the scriptures. This is how the Judges are described in Chronicles, by God. In all places where I have walked with all Israel, have I spoken a word with any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to shepherd My people, saying, ‘Why have you not built Me a house of cedar?’ -excerpt 1 Chronicles 17 verse 6 NASB translation A woman could only be given the authority by God to execute a man for his sin, if women are spiritually equal to men. A Judge could judge homicide cases according to Deuteronomy. Therefore Deborah, as a Judge, could execute a man for his sin. A Judge's verdict could not be altered or appealed. A Judge was cleared to teach from scripture as he/she gave a verdict, according to Deuteronomy. Since in Judges 4, men went to Deborah to be judged, a woman could teach men, even in the Old Covenant in a public setting. A Judge was REQUIRED in scripture to judge only the hardest of cases. If your beliefs can't explain all this, they must be false.

I suggest my short and free essay on Deborah. Men and women are perfectly equal spiritually. She was a pastor, according to the scriptures. This is how the Judges are described in Chronicles, by God. A woman could only be given the authority by God to execute a man for his sin, if women are spiritually equal to men. A Judge could judge homicide cases according to Deuteronomy. Therefore Deborah, as a Judge, could execute a man for his sin. Complementarianism is a false doctrine that is in opposition to what God actually did. God appointed a woman as a Judge over Israel. There was no gender qualification to be a Judge, in the scriptures.

I was a little confused. Of course women can teach. Where in the passage does it say that they can't? I didn't follow why they spent so much time speaking about that. Clearly the passage is not speaking about if a woman can teach or not; it's speaking about God's established order of creation. Of course a man can learn from a woman. Succinctly, the passage is speaking of the OFFICE of ELDER, that can only be filled by men. That's it. Don't know why the podcast is speaking so much about what the passage is not referring to?????? The first Adam is not preeminent in the Christian faith, but the Jesus, the second, or final Adam. Col 1:18 ESV - 18 And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. Regarding Eve being deceived, please remember that the fall occurred as Adam ate the fruit, not Eve. The reason being God's established order in creation: man was created first, then woman (so in that sense, Adam is preeminent). That's the point. God's established order of creation put man over woman in a sense of responsibility, to protect, as he is stronger. The established order is of a military sense, as a higher ranking officer is "over" a lower ranking. It doesn't mean "better". God created man and woman to compliment one another, not for one to lord it over the other. Man and woman are of equal value, but have different roles that compliment each other. Working together, with Christ as the head brings God the glory. Going out of His established order or creation does not yield positive results.

Complementarianism is a false teaching. At its center it supports a two-tiered priesthood based on birthright. @@russs3001 Complementarianism That false and confusing teaching, that states Christian women are less than Christian men in a spiritual way, but they really aren't, but they really are.

The Bible has to be interpreted within the context of the period of time in which it was written. The Bible is replete with biased passages subordinating women. Men wrote scripture and interpreted scripture. So, how much is the actual word of God and how much reflects flawed theology and bias. How much is literal and how much is just a story. Adam was just as deceived as Eve. In fact, Eve, if one wants to take the story of Creation literally, fell to the power of a very powerful supernatural being, the devil, but Adam fell to a fellow human being. So, who was weaker? Be careful about literal interpretations of Scripture. Not all is the unadulterated word of God.

Just like many false teachers and is actually promoted to do so, is add into Scriptures the wisdom of man. Gramatics is of no influence on the Word from the Lord, maybe in the letter but not in the spiritual. Women, were saved in child bearing. First women, in the context of child bearing, weren't all women in Eve? Therefore, the Holy Spirit, not Paul, as the spirit understands spirit, is saying that Eve amd all women were saved in child bearing, that is to say a woman was to give births and this is why God did not destroy her then and there. Just as in verse 4, all men, that is that all men were in Adam, shall be saved to come to the knowledge of the truth. Meaning that He also had a purpose and plan for the man, just as He does women. The second part is this, "If they should stay in the faith and charity and holiness with sobriety. That is faith in Jesus, THE seed of the woman. God used the female body of man as a whole, to bring about His glory and plan, as afore predestined to be accomplish.

I can’t stand when the argument of women prophets come up. What does prophecy have to do with teaching in the sense of what teaching actually is? Yes, Paul’s other letters mention women prophesying and yes, Joel mentions sons and daughters prophesying and speaking in tongues. And even Paul says in Titus that older women SHOULD TEACH younger women. So, yes, women can prophecy and even teach. But the point in 1 Timothy is that women should not teach or exercise authority over a man. And this is rooted in the timeless principle of the order of creation, Adam first then Eve (man first then woman). Paul is setting order to types of behavior the Lord desires from His children (men and women). The context of women teaching in this sense is teaching and exercising authority OVER A MAN. That’s the key. That is why women have such trouble with this passage. God said that Eve’s desire will be for her husband but that he will rule over her. This is the consequence of sin and disobedience. So now, women and even some men wrestle with this passage even though it is clear.

18:45 I actually think that's the strongest point made in this entire video. Paul gives different instructions to different churches. I think there's too much speculation that can be taken from your other points but this point may be crucial. I'm split on the whole thing. I've always been taught that women shouldn't be pastors and the text clearly states that and yet with things other than sin, Paul at times, makes different rules apply for different churches. Some people make the point that every church that has a woman leading it has fallen into apostasy and yet thats every church they've seen. Not every church in existence and let's face it. a lot of churches have fallen into apostasy. Men led and women led so to say its all because a woman was pastoring, do we know that? I'm one to stick by the scriptures as much as possible so to prove that is correct you have to go to other churches and see if Paul stated the same or different. As you stated in other churches there were women leading (i e. Priscilla). I don't want to be wrong on this so I'm going to pray because more important than anything I want to be right with God but I'm sensing in my heart that this is right.

Something to add. If it is addressed to specific churches, then it would be addressed to churches where the women want to dominate the men. That being the case, if you have a church where the women are being assertive and keeping men down in the congregation I believe that would then apply. If indeed it is given to a specific set of churches it would apply to the feminist type churches where women do everything.

1 tim 2 and 1 cor 14;35 in 1 tim paul talks about ONE woman who was not allowed to teach ONE man because she usurped authority over the man. no believer has the right to usurp the authority over the other. nor man nor a woman. paul used singular form in that passage and spoke about one specific woman. not to women in general. especially that just a few verses earlier paul was addressing the issue of modesty and spoke about women in general, in PLURAL form. God does know the difference between plural and singular. in 1 cor 14;35 where it says that women are not allowed to speak in church paul meant that women were not supposed to CHAT (disturb by talking, chatting) in the church. a few verses earlier in that same chapter paul was saying in verse 26 paul says "How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying." - that means that each, whether a man or a woman is supposed to share a teaching, a revelation, or any other thing they receive from God in order to edify the church. col 3;16 "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord." - again, the same paul says here that we all are to TEACH and ADMONISH one another when we gather together. also in 1 cor 11 paul (3 chapters earlier) paul talks about women praying and prophesying in church - so he could not mean in 1 cor 14;35 that women cannot speak. most teaching on the subject of family and women's role are based on man's traditions and ignorance and pride, not on the Word of God. which is very sad. additionally, pastor is not a position of authority not a title. it is a role and a function. being a pastor means you take care of the sheep, of other believers, help them in whatever they need you to do. you dont even have to teach others. you are a care giver. also, in 1 tim 2;5 we read that there is only One Mediator between God and men. when you accept another person, another human being as your head, authority or a priest/pastor then you make that person an antichrist because they stand in the PLACE of Christ. the Lord Yeshu Hamashiyah said in mat 23;10 "Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ." there is only ONE AUTHORITY over us and that is only Lord Yeshu Hamashiyah. the Bible says that husband and wife are one flesh so they are one head and they are both submitted to the only Headship of the Lord Yeshu Hamashiyah and they are to be submitted one to another (eph 5;21). when you look at people through their gender you look at them through their flesh... that is being carnally minded.

To believe that Jesus would strongly disapprove of a woman being an elder in the New Covenant, makes no sense whatsoever. This is all Paul. He was very much a man of his time and his pride. Paul gave himself the title of 'father', since he couldn't meet the qualifications of elder that he himself put forward. The title of 'father' was expressly forbidden by Jesus. @@user-iz8np3vv4i Thank you for writing. It is SO very sad how many people just do NOT know the Word of God by the Holy Spirit. Paul did not write his words, views or opinions, because the Holy Spirit wrote the Word by men inspired by his voice. 2 Peter 1:20-21. Paul was not a man of his time, nor was filled with Pride. Paul was a humble servant of God, an Elder in the faith, as Peter was, I Peter 5:1-4. Paul absolutely fulfilled all and even when Peter finished his last epistle in 2 Peter 3, preparing saints for judgment day, he mentioned Paul and shared ALL who are UNLEARNED and wrest with Paul's writings, meaning uneducated and ignorant, will be bring damnation to themselves. WOW. Your reasoning about Paul calling himself a "father", all the Apostles were spiritual fathers, I Cor. 4. We all have natural fathers and we call them such, so your statement makes no sense spiritually. What Jesus said in Mt.23, after rebuking RELIGIOUS men, the Pharisees to damnation, he told his disciples call NO MAN "father" on this earth, meaning in the ministry sense. Meaning NO believer is to ever call MEN like the Catholics call the Pope PAPA or father. You have ONE Father in heaven. The Bible says in Heb.13:7-9, that Jesus is the SAME yesterday, today and forever more. Jesus was the WORD made flesh, Jn.1:1-14. So nothing changes. In Judges, if you were talking about Deborah, PLEASE read your Word. Othniel was first appointed by God and then Ehud after Othniel died. Both appointed BY the Lord God. BUT, read ch.4, it says And Deborah judged Israel at that time. It does NOT say the Lord ordained her, appointed her, and she did a good work, BUT it was Barak God called and he refused and even Deborah addressed him for his lack of faith. In the Old Testament, there were NO women Elders, NO women overseeing the ministry of the Tabernacle. In the New Covenant by Jesus, he never chose ONE woman, never ordained ONE woman, NEVER appointed one woman into ministry. He chose 12 MEN to start. No woman ever wrote or penned a book in the Bible. In the Book of Acts, in all Epistles, NO woman was ever permitted to set ORDER IN THE KINGDOM authority of the Government of God. As THEN, so NOW. The Bible says what it does and means what is said. YOU are called to PROVE all things by scripture. SO find ONE woman in the Ascension gifts of Jesus. Be blessed and encouraged.

@@newcovenantworldoutreach-v3909 Since a woman could be a pastor in the Old Covenant, a woman can be a pastor in the New Covenant. Simple really. I suggest my short and free essay on Deborah. Men and women are perfectly equal spiritually. She was a pastor, according to the scriptures. This is how the Judges are described in Chronicles, by God. A woman could only be given the authority by God to execute a man for his sin, if women are spiritually equal to men. A Judge could judge homicide cases according to Deuteronomy. Therefore Deborah, as a Judge, could execute a man for his sin. A Judge was cleared to teach from scripture as he/she gave a verdict, according to Deuteronomy. Since in Judges 4, men went to Deborah to be judged, a woman could teach men, even in the Old Covenant in a public setting. This setting in Deborah's case was under a palm tree. She used to sit under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim; and the sons of Israel went up to her for judgment. -excerpt Judges 4 Full read time: 12 minutes, free ____________________________________________________ Were Deborah AND Barak Judges? Was Barak a Judge? Was Deborah a Judge? And when the Lord raised up judges for them, the Lord was with the judge and saved them from the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge; for the Lord was moved to pity by their groaning because of those who tormented and oppressed them. -excerpt Judges 2 Now Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lappidoth, was judging Israel at that time. She used to sit under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim; and the sons of Israel went up to her for judgment. -excerpt Judges 4 The peasantry came to an end, they came to an end in Israel, Until I, Deborah, arose, Until I arose, a mother in Israel. -excerpt Judges 5 Tola and Jair were also Judges. ..., rose up to save Israel... Now after Abimelech died, Tola the son of Puah, the son of Dodo, a man of Issachar, rose up to save Israel; and he lived in Shamir in the hill country of Ephraim. He judged Israel for twenty-three years. Then he died and was buried in Shamir. ...rose up and judged Israel... After him, Jair the Gileadite rose up and judged Israel for twenty-two years. And he had thirty sons who rode on thirty donkeys, and they had thirty cities in the land of Gilead that are called Havvoth-jair to this day. And Jair died and was buried in Kamon. -excerpt Judges 10 The same phrasing is used regarding Deborah, Tola and Jair. They were all Judges. Deborah: Until I, Deborah, arose, Until I arose... Tola: "...rose up..." Jair: "...rose up..." Barak is never referred to as a Judge. He was commander of the army. Deborah was the Judge over Israel at this time. She knew it, and so did Barak. Now she sent word and summoned Barak... -excerpt Judges 4 (above) Deborah summoning Barak. She gave the order for the battle to begin that Israel won. Then Deborah said to Barak, “Arise! For this is the day on which the Lord has handed Sisera over to you... -excerpt Judges 4 (above) Deborah ordering Barak. CONCLUSION Deborah was a Judge. Barak was not a Judge.

@@newcovenantworldoutreach-v3909 PAUL HIS FALSE, CONTRADICTORY, AND CONFUSING TEACHINGS (Revised December 2023 to include/add Part 13) INTRODUCTION Some believe Paul was a false apostle. The scriptures below are used as the beginning of their argument. Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, To the saints who are at Ephesus... -excerpt Ephesians 1 (the very beginning of the letter) “To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: The One who holds the seven stars in His right hand, the One who walks among the seven golden lampstands, says this: ‘I know your deeds and your labor and perseverance, and that you cannot tolerate evil people, and you have put those who call themselves apostles to the test, and they are not, and you found them to be false;... -excerpt Revelation 2 I don't believe Paul was a false apostle or a false teacher. But it's extremely close. This essay gives several examples of Paul teaching falsely. (This essay will not address Paul's possible questionable financial matters. That would go to his character, but are not teachings.) Part 10 PAUL REFERS TO HIMSELF AS A SPIRITUAL FATHER THE MOST SERIOUS FALSE TEACHING OF PAUL And do not call anyone on earth your father; for only One is your Father, He who is in heaven. -excerpt Matthew 23 -words of Jesus They love the best places at feasts, the best seats in the synagogues, greetings in the marketplaces, and to be called by men, ‘Rabbi, Rabbi.’ But you, do not be called ‘Rabbi’; for One is your Teacher, the Christ, and you are all brethren. -excerpt Matthew 23 -words of Jesus Jesus knew that if any man gave himself the title of 'father' that man would regard brothers and sisters in Christ as his children. That is what Paul did a number of times. Paul NEEDED this type of respect. It also shows he was either ignorant of this teaching of Jesus, or thought that since he was an apostle (something he mentions in most of his letters) he had the authority to set aside the words of Jesus. Paul states that he gave birth, in a spiritual way, to the Christians in Galatia. But it is good to be zealously affected always in a good thing, and not only when I am present with you. My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you, I desire to be present with you now, and to change my voice; for I stand in doubt of you. -excerpt Galatians 4 KJV -words of Paul Yet to all who received Him, He gave the power to become sons of God, to those who believed in His name, who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. -excerpt John 1 MEV We see in John 1 (above) that we become sons and daughters of God, by God. Not any man. Not even by Paul. So when Paul writes: I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you... Paul is speaking a falsehood to the Galatians. Paul, again, below, regards himself as a father. He referred to himself as a parent loving his children. Behold, the third time I am ready to come to you; and I will not be burdensome to you: for I seek not yours but you: for the children ought not to lay up for the parents, but the parents for the children. And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I be loved. -excerpt 2 Corinthians 12 I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you. For though ye have ten thousand instructers in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel. Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me. For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church. -excerpt 1 Corinthians 4 KJV -words of Paul Paul writes: For this reason I have sent to you Timothy, who is my beloved and faithful child in the Lord... Paul played no part in leading this man to Jesus. So, sort of strange from that perspective. The wording would indicate to anyone that Paul led this man to Jesus. Now Paul also came to Derbe and to Lystra. And a disciple was there, named Timothy, the son of a Jewish woman who was a believer,... -excerpt Acts 16 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, according to the promise of life in Christ Jesus, To Timothy, my beloved son... -excerpt 2 Timothy 1 -words of Paul You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. -excerpt 2 Timothy 2 -words of Paul to Timothy To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour. -excerpt Titus 1 -words of Paul I appeal to you for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten while in my chains, who once was unprofitable to you, but now is profitable to you and to me. -excerpt Philemon 1 -words of Paul A father in real life is over his children. There is no equality. The father must be respected according to scripture. “Honor your father and your mother... -excerpt Exodus 20 Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction, And do not ignore your mother’s teaching;... -excerpt Proverbs 1 Paul calls himself a 'father' in a spiritual sense. This goes against the teaching of Jesus. Also, since Paul calls himself a father, he conveniently bypasses the requirements of being an elder, which he states, partially, as a married man that has children. For this reason I left you in Crete, that you would set in order what remains and appoint elders in every city as I directed you, namely, if any man is beyond reproach, the husband of one wife, having children who believe, not accused of indecent behavior or rebellion. -excerpt Titus 1 -words of Paul As Paul says, he wasn't married: But I say to the unmarried and to widows that it is good for them if they remain even as I. -excerpt 1 Corinthians 7 Two requirements set by Paul to be an elder were to be a married man that had children. Paul could not meet these requirements so he gave himself the title of 'father'. A father being a man above churches and the elders in them. I robbed other churches by taking wages from them to serve you;... Apart from such external things, there is the daily pressure on me of concern for all the churches. -excerpts 2 Corinthians 11 -words of Paul Paul believed he had the authority to discipline as a father does. Do not withhold discipline from a child; Though you strike him with the rod, he will not die. -excerpt Proverbs 23 For if you were to have countless tutors in Christ, yet you would not have many fathers... But I will come to you soon, if the Lord wills, and I shall find out, not the words of those who are arrogant, but their power. For the kingdom of God is not in words, but in power. What do you desire? That I come to you with a rod, or with love and a spirit of gentleness? -excerpt 1 Corinthians 4 Paul believed his authority to discipline extended even to the ability to execute a man. Paul believed he could make this judgement from afar, as God could. ...for I indeed, as being absent as to the body, and present as to the spirit, have already judged, as being present, him who so wrought this thing:in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ -- ye being gathered together, also my spirit -- with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,to deliver up such a one to the Adversary for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. -excerpt 1 Corinthians 5 YLT For I, on my part, though absent in body but present in spirit, have already judged him who has so committed this, as though I were present. In the name of our Lord Jesus, when you are assembled, and I with you in spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus, I have decided to turn such a person over to Satan for the destruction of his body, so that his spirit may be saved on the day of the Lord. -NASB version An example of real power is part of the story from Acts 5 below. Here we see God performing the execution with an apostle present. The apostle prophecies death, and death comes. In contrast to Paul ordering an execution from afar to be performed by men. Now an interval of about three hours elapsed, and his wife came in, not knowing what had happened. And Peter responded to her, “Tell me whether you sold the land for this price?” And she said, “Yes, for that price.” Then Peter said to her, “Why is it that you have agreed together to put the Spirit of the Lord to the test? Behold, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out as well.” And immediately she collapsed at his feet and died; and the young men came in and found her dead, and they carried her out and buried her beside her husband. And great fear came over the whole church, and over all who heard about these things. -excerpt Acts 5 NASB

Lol women on the alter, not in a real church.A Texas church usually will put it right on the front page or not if they allow women on the alter. I'm a 100% sure Dearborn Michigan would never alow a female.
