Harvard brain scientist Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor awoke the morning of December 10, 1996 to the alarming signs of a stroke. Through the eyes of a brain scientist, she watched her mind slowly deteriorate. Fortunately she lived to tell the story, but it was clear that the person she was before died that morning. It took her eight years to fully
recover.
With a second chance at life, Taylor shares her insight on how she lives a more fulfilling life by stimulating both her left and right side of the brain.

I discovered this remarkable woman while recovering from a stroke at age 46. I was re-learning how to use my computer-didn't know ((remember) what youtube was- was just discovering it and her TEDTalk was one of the first things to pop up as a recommendation. I hung on every single word. I listened to it again and again. I couldn't quite verbalize it at the time, but her story- her experience -resonated with me to the core of my being. That was several years ago, hadn't thought about her in awhile, but her story still gives me goosebumps and inspires me. I still hang on every word, it seems.

I bought A stroke of Insight 10 years ago. It appeared interesting. Life passed by quickly, I had major health issues and have finally recovered enough to find me again. I picked that book off the shelf yesterday! I had to learn more about this amazing woman and here I am! I Love this dynamic woman. I have been doing creative things lately and her suggestion to do that affirms that I will be alright! Utmost respect for Jill.🤗

I remember going to hear this woman speak at a speaker series about 10 years ago & was fascinated with her experience. 2 weeks ago I rediscovered her after having a stroke of my own. Thank you! 🙏❤

Hi Jill, sometime ago I had encephalitis that nearly wiped me off the map, where at that stage, my life flash before my eyes as if i was watching a video in fast motion. There was more that i did not understand, but after some 30 odd years i have and still have glimpses of the future. I am still leaning to be normal, but it is hard because i have to hide this from those closest to me as they think I am mad. I now see the world in such a clearer light.

Jill i personally find your videos inspiring, but i never found a photo of yours during your so called stroke. I am a male who now is 51 years. In 2017 february 9th a had a stroke. A brainstem stroke. I had a headache since october 2016. At the Maasstad hospital Rotterdam, they made 2 mri scans and they could not find anything. In late january 2017, they found (after a 2 color ct scan) that in my brain the blood flows in one certain vein, both side. During that time my bp and blood sugar was always oke. Still my bp and blood sugar is oke. But now i am paralyzed on my right side and i have difficulties with my speech too. Every day i work on my own and every week i get physiotherapy of one hour at home.

@Gopal. Sriniwasan if their was a ayurvewdic alternativ medicine, it would be all over the world known. Also it would be in a medical journal as wel. I do not believe this kind of mumbo jumbo. But thanks for the advice.

Love Jill❤ Jill made me understand the real teaching of the Bible. I will be sitting on the right side of my father ( pineal gland conscious mind awareness of being that I am). Cast all your fish net to the right side of the boat. Could it be that the Bible is a anatomy book about 2 consciousness, the left side which is Lucifer and the right side which is Jesus. I hope that people will understand the book one day.

Indeed! How I see it the Ego (the voice over in the left side of the brain) is Lucifer, self-consciousness was born in the garden of Eden and the first dualism was experienced, resulting in shame, guild, etc. Consciousness is all there is and this is "God" - Brahman. Ego is in Atman and can be seen as Lucifer I agree. And Atman = Brahman, after this realization you are back home as your true self = consciousness = All. So all appears in you=Consciousness=god.

@@anupamanarayanan5864 Thank you for your response. I have had a physical caused mental experience 6 years ago which resulted in immediate zelf realisation. After a few years of recearch within the tradition of Advaita vedanta (a "flower" from the Hinduism) I came back home and Found the knowledge/path which fits for me with the physical experience off all being one I have had experienced. I wish you all the very best.
