About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.

As I watch you rebuild, reconstruct, remodel, I wonder what the people who originally built this building would say if they came back. I can at times almost visualize a horse drawn carriage approaching the building, or standing in the suite 400, or inspecting your work in the garden. I wonder what they would say to all of you. It is a grand and tender dance with the past and the present. That is a gift of the artist that can not stop giving in service of beauty.

Great save! So perfect that tiling the bathrooms has given you the needed flooring to repair the other rooms invisibly. Also very clever how you used the bits of salvageable paneling from the 400 bedroom to repair other rooms. Your family has been an amazing gift to the chateau!

Another ‘just’ job. Our inner critic has a very loud voice, that makes a task feel insurmountable. But with patience and perseverance that job is done. Ticked off the list, and it’s beautiful and so satisfying. Perfect match, looks just like original flooring. Great job! ❤🏰

What a magnificent job you've done on restoring the floor under that window Terry! Truly masterful! And Ash and Tracy haven't been shirking either. They're doing a superb job of sanding that panelling on those walls which is a tedious, very labour intensive job. Well done, all three of you! Can't wait to see those rooms finished!

PS Billy Petherick refinished a floor in his chateau this week and he used a plaster sander on the floor instead of industrial sander.

Dirt was used in all the old chateaux as there was no such product available! Many of chateau restorations I have watched have to deal with the same thing, getting rid of the dirt and putting modern products in 🙃
