I'm 60 years old just realizing the truth behind the mindsets you are talking about. My doctor wanted me to get bariatric surgery. So my problem is my stomach is too large? That's what caused me to get over 450 lbs? A CPAP machine, a chiropracter who could help me fix my back pain, access to a swimming pool, and long term nutritional counseling has helped me to so far lose over 60 lbs., go for longer walks without stopping, deadlift 315 lbs., and wake up rested. This has helped me change from feeling like a huge blob to feeling like a regular guy with too much fat hanging on me. As you so accurately pointed out, Ethan, it's a chronic condition that can be reversed over time, not an acute condition that can be instantly fixed. Great message!
