Hi,what books do you recommend for new IR nurses??

Hello! Great question, there isn’t many good IR books specific for nurses out there. However, one good book to learn about IR is called the IR playbook, however it is quite technical and much of the information is more procedurally focused. Nevertheless, it’s a good book overall!

Do you advance the cath? Or are these what the MD/pa are doing?
@theguidewirerntomd

Hello! The MD doing the procedure is responsible for advancing, placing, and manipulating the catheters. Hope this helps!

@@theguidewirerntomd thanks... also what is phase 2 ? Post procedure?
@theguidewirerntomd
@theguidewirerntomd Год назад
@@Katie-vy5rd Yes, there are different stages of recovery, phase 2 is the second part of the post procedure recovery period. Depending on your workplace, many have a recovery room / unit the patient goes to after post procedure and those nurses take care of the recovery process.

Do you stand the entire shift?
@theguidewirerntomd

Hello! Great question, most of my shift I am standing, moving, or walking. My shifts are 10hours long typically, unless I am on call and have to stay late to finish the day. Hope this helps!
