@@CreativeFox750 While that would be kinda cool, theres no real proof of multiple timelines at all. The only thing in Mario, that I'm aware of, that hints to more than one timeline is in Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2. Where in 2 at the start of the game it says something along the lines of "Imagine the events of Super Mario Galaxy 1 never happened". And even then, most people seem to ignore that. Plus I can't imagine Nintendo wanting to have another case of overcomplicated timelines like they do with Legend of Zelda. Would just be a bunch of unnecessary hassle for them and fans.

Jack Devereux I thought he got another one in luigis mansion 2 at the end or something like that. He could have sold the old one to someone else or something like that since I thought I remembered the ending of game 2 mentioning he’d get a new one doesn’t he get a new one after game 2 since he beats king boo so he could either upgrade to bigger mansion somehow if he needs to/wants to.

@@Megz1794 Nah Luigi never gets a second mansion at the end of Dark Moon, he just goes back to his old one with Polterpup. You see it all in the ending of Dark Moon, no new mansion, just the old one he already has with Polterpup.

I do think the D Mansion is Canon I don’t know why they didn’t go to the A one that would’ve made more sense

The mansion was an illusion, but the ghosts weren't. E Gadd captured the portrait ghosts when he was younger. King Boo was the one who freed the portrait ghosts.

Anderson Zeis most people usually hate dark moon because the second one is just mainly full of possessor ghosts and not much else and also the journey for dark moon isn’t as scary as the first one. But then again so people can have whatever opinions on it they want.

Michiel De Kegel it’s a theory it depends on what happened to it by LM3 so the theory might or might not be wrong since In LM3 we kind of don’t see it again anywhere in the LM3 storyline.

D or E rank I don't care. Besides I play games for fun and not to break my head about the game. So I actually don't care about the theory. Unless I feel like that it literally makes no sense to me.

True the mansion that you see in the begin isn't real because it only appears in the night. But the mansion that luigi builds which the money and gold from the mansion (which are real) is real. And he lives in it.

Alyssa star it either moved or got upgraded something like that according to the end of Dark Moon(LM2) since it’s shown at the start and End of LM 2 somehow in different ways but by LM 3 it could either be the hotel or something like that. It depends on what happened to it by LM3

I liked it, but it was (like the other people said) really sort and the boolasus fight was hell thanks to the weird controls. But I did liked area 1 and 4 and the fight with bogmire and king boo were fantastic. The inclusion of gooigi was fine I never used him, but I can see other people use it. All and all it was a good game. 😑👍

Michiel De Kegel actually you need Gooigi in LM 3 for some locations it’s just not for all locations but he is handy

Megan McKnight but we know what happened to it after LM2 as it’s still seen in the ending of LM2. There’s no reason to believe that the Rank D Mansion was changed. Luigi and the Polterpup need a place to live, after all.

No. Mario’s Universe doesn’t work on a timeline split system. Changing the past overwrites the current present. The Last Resort is clearly not Luigi’s Mansion.

@@seandwalsh3 Well... Of course, that's the logical solution and it's was I thought as well. But then I realized that if E Gadd sent Gooigi to the events of Luigi's Mansion 1 during the events of Luigi's Mansion 2 (or Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon), what you can notice because there are 3 collected Dark Moon pieces in the screen, and not the whole moon, that would've changed the present. However, In Luigi's Mansion 3, Luigi knows nothing about Gooigi, he understands it as E Gadd's new invention, although he should know it from before. That's why I think the only feasible way that would make sense is that the time travel didn't affect the present at all, and the Luigi that sees Gooigi for the first time in The Last Resort isn't the same Luigi that saw him in the original mansion, therefore creating a timeline split system. Note: If something isn't written very well, that's because I'm Spanish.

David Fuentes Reyes your English is fine! However, I don’t see any indication that Luigi doesn’t know who Gooigi is. Luigi has no reaction to meeting Gooigi’s in Luigi’s Mansion 3, which to me tells me that it’s nothing new to him. He likely accepts that it’s E. Gadd’s “new invention” because he realises that this is around the point in time that Gooigi was created in. Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time and Super Mario Galaxy prove definitively that there are no timeline splits in Mario.

@@seandwalsh3 But E Gadd says (at least in the Spanish version) that someone (referring to the Luigi of the past) helped him to test Gooigi's prototype. If what you're saying were true, there would be no need to hide the identity of the helper.

David Fuentes Reyes he doesn’t hide the identity of the person who helped, he just cheekily chooses to omit who, likely in the hopes that Luigi will remember and pick up on his little joke. It’d be much weirder if he said “I got help from you in the past”. If he had said that it would indicate that Luigi didn’t know that already, but he didn’t

Oj Gamer90s I think it’s because daisy isn’t originally in Luigis mansion in any of the games it’s usually just Defientely Mario, sometimes Peach, defientely Luigi&The Toads. I think daisy mainly isn’t in the storyline of luigis mansion since she wasn’t introduced right away as a Mario related character And Luigis mansion storyline could be before daisy joined the group despite the game coming out in 2001. There’s probably a certain order for the franchise for the storyline maybe daisy doesn’t just doesn’t exist yet in the luigis mansion storyline. Daisy wasn’t created until super Mario land and Luigis mansion storyline wise could be before daisy was a member of the group.

Well daisy been around since super Mario land and appeard in her 1st multiplayer Game on Mario tennis 64 so there should be no excuse

GAMEBomb123 I have played Luigi’s Mansion 3DS, and nothing in that game indicates a timeline split. The Mario Universe runs on a retcon-line, meaning that if the past is changed, it overwrites what was originally there rather than creating a branch. The original GameCube Luigi’s Mansion was overwritten by the 3DS Luigi’s Mansion due to Professor E. Gadd sending Luigi to the past.

GAMEBomb123 when does he ever indicate he doesn’t know who Gooigi is? Luigi has no real reaction to Gooigi, implying that he already knows of his existence prior to his introduction in 3.

No luigi still lives in it. That actually gets me thinking. Is that why we never see Luigi and Mario living in the same house after Luigi's mansion? With not including the remakes of the other Mario games.

Third but honestly don't care. Anyway, my theory is that Luigi here sold his mansion to Gravely, years down the line her love for King Boo goes haywire, she starts to organize everything and the rest is history. Though, what do you think about E. Gadd? He says loads of fishy stuff, gets into the oddest situation, and treats Luigi a test subject. Something isn't right.
