Would give so much to have more teachers like you. I know how important it is to have teachers who listen to you, I spent a lot of my years in school confiding to teachers because I had nobody else, I know if I attended MSD I would’ve talked to you too, because you’re so kind and caring towards your students. You’re such a vital part of your students lives, thank you for what you do!

This video could not have come at a better time! I start my first day as a first year teacher, teaching 9th and 10th grade English. I am terrified, so this video was very helpful! I’m so worried I’m not going to be prepared or be on the same track as the other teachers. You inspire me though, so thank you for giving me the motivation to do my best as a teacher! 💕💕

Be humble, plan ahead, pinterest calenders, write the month out, google docs for lesson plans, be organized, time management, where to manage paper, use a file cabinet, in/out folder, strict consistent rules (gum, water drinking, food eating, etc), know your classroom management, messages on board for what to do (list of to do's on board), writing agenda, having a warm up, cell phone policy, find out what excited them and put it in the lesson plan, whats relevant to them, research and reflect, build relationships with students, what can I do better with that lesson, why did I do that lesson, talk to veteran teachers, adapt what they are doing, follow teachers on line, conferences, connect with teachers, self care so you feel your best...even though I have heard most of this in other teacher tip videos, its good to hear it said again. I like how its very condensed, sort of an outline of teaching.

I just want to let you know, whether you see this comment or not, that you inspire me everyday. I have been following you for awhile and you truly what I love about this profession. This is my first year teaching and it has been so hard for me. I actually broke down crying watching this video. I have constantly felt as if I have failed my students and made more mistakes than accomplishments. I want to be better for my students but it’s challenging when I feel alone, upset, and like I’m drowning in the one thing I truly love. My favorite part of my day is being at school and with my students, but I feel like I could be doing more to make an impact in their day. Thank you for just continuously spreading joy and encouragement-a lot of teachers need that, especially those who don’t really have a good support system. I am thankful for you ❤️ Keep being a light in this world!

My school does this thing where in the last quarter of school they let seniors do an internship, and I’m going to be working with a high school English teacher for mine. Hi Brittany! I found your channel a couple days ago, and I love that you find time to be a teacher and make youtube videos! I'm in school right now to be an elementary school teacher, and I'm actually in the process of applying to get into the education program. Everything is due in about a month, some of it even earlier in about two weeks, and I'm feeling a little overwhelmed. It encourages me so much to see that other people have done this before me, and that you can go straight from college to teaching and be successful at it! Thank you so much for making videos.

I have felt lately that I am not the best for my students in resources and materials. I have all of these fun ideas, but honestly, finding a good theatre curriculum to teach is hard in Texas.Being a new year I have so many new ideas and things I want to improve on. Thank you for making videos like these. You never know what will happen in the first year until you are in that room with the door shut by yourself with those students. I teach 11th grade English. Having a routine, expectations, and rules is so important. My students do bell work every day and I come around and stamp their bell work log. They know if their work isn’t done, they don’t get a stamp and they lose points. I have been doing that since the first week of school and I don’t get complaints.

I love you and your channel so much! You are such an inspiration! I’m currently in a Master of School Library Science program to become a teacher librarian certified for k-12th grade. Currently I work as a learning support assistant and am gaining so much valuable experience already in all the classrooms and grades I work with. Watching your videos provides a lot of insight from an educators perspective as well your positivity! I enjoy elementary age but I noticed as well that I work very well with older grades perhaps even middle school. My hope is to become a school librarian for the future and or also become certified as an English teacher as well for middle school since I love reading and teaching students literary elements and writing.

If you still happen to be watching the comments (or if anyone else wants to chime in), I have a question about one of your tips! I did find this video really helpful; I'm working as a English teaching assistant in Japan with no prior experience (I have an English writing/editing degree but never took any teaching-track courses), so any extra info I can find online is super helpful. My question is this: you say to be yourself in the classroom, which I totally agree is a more authentic experience, but I'm personally really reserved, shy, and calm. In this case, is there even a benefit to being myself in the classroom? I've tried to be more outgoing but it usually just comes off as awkward, I think, because I really don't know how to do it lmao. If anyone has advice or perhaps teaches successfully with a similar personality, I would love to hear from you! Thank you for the helpful video!!

Since I was 7 I knew I wanted to be a teacher. last 3 years I spent working alongside amazing teachers in 7 schools and 5 countries. In August of 2018 I started my journey to be a qualified teacher and I can't tell you how much I have learned already! I am only 19 but like I said I have had a dream of being a teacher but more specifically opening a non-profit for the poor and disabled in Pakistan since I was 7 years old. I have gotten A LOT of hate for wanting so strongly to be a teacher esp from teachers but there are teachers like you that encourage me to pursue my dream.

I love your channel so much!! I’m currently student teaching in an autism support classroom and a 10th grade world history room. Yesterday my mentor teacher was out for the day and the sub made a comment about thinking I was a 14 year old. Safe to say I was a little offended considering I’m almost 23 years old. I’m short and tiny just like you and although I love my high schoolers and see our closeness in age as a positive thing, I’m so tired of being mistaken for one of my students by other staff!
