Maze pin has matured over the course of the season, but you really can’t say his pace is equal or close to Mick. Mick somehow put that horrible HAAS into Q2 at least once.
Thats true, Mazepin came as close as 1 tenth in qualy once and thats it. The gap usually is between 0,5 and 1,5 seconds. Plus Mick put the Haas into Q2 twice this year and im confident that if Haas is able to put together a midfield car, Mick will get his first podium
@@thelord1525 do you really think that the billionaire mazepkn pretty much almost bought an entire f1 team for his son but didnt buy him a simulator aswell ?
I hate to burst your bubble guys but Mick has not been appearing in Q2 by raw pace. The Haas is incapable of doing that. It is always by circumstance. Luck. I'm not saying he's slow though. We'll see next year.
@@samwelagwata3845 so why didn’t Mazipin get to q2 as well if he is as good as mick? Oh yea. He was 3 seconds behind mick and about a second from p19 coming in last.
I never heard a driver put blame on the car so much. Getting into a better factory car may improve times but will not make you a better driver. The silver lining for not having a good driver is that the team worked their balls off to make the car better. Enter Magnussen saying thank you very much. They will still play from the back but hopefully HAAS now has a car to challenge the mid pack.
Mazepin must be so gutted right now. His fathers money built this new competitive car and he never had the chance to race it. He’s basically just a kid after all
Yeah he’s good enough to be a pro but not to be competitive as a pro. As much as I think he sucks I wanna see him in a proper car that we know is fast. I wanna know how much slower would he be driving in say a red bull car or Mercedes I bet the gap would be a lot less
He only a better driver than you because he had money thrown at him, i had a passion to race but I had no money thrown at me not a penny, but if I did I be a better driver than mazepin and I bet you would be as well.
@@luckyd77 I mean, I don't know how capable you are but I think you're being a bit harsh here. Your point is that anyone could be as good as Mazepin with enough money, right? Nikita raced in karting, along with many many other kids who also had money. Nowadays every kid going for a racing career is rich, that's just the way it is. It's a fact that Mazepin was among the elite drivers of that "rich kid category". He came runner up to Lando Norris in the karting world championship. Do you really think anyone would've been able to achieve that given the right money? That is simply not true. I agree that Mazepin is not quite F1 material, but let's not forget that F1 already is the elite within the elite. Everyone and their mother wants to get there, and you better believe you're going to get tested along the way. Pay driver or not, he earned the right to be considered a capable driver at least. Well above what you're suggesting here.
Same as claiming Mazepin gr0ped the girl, she herself debunked that, but y'all don't care about that, huh. It's cool to trash someone as long as it's not you, right?
Now that Magnussen is back and really doing well in the first race I don't think we will see Mazepin back in F1. I think he matured a lot, but doubt he could've broken into the top 10 like Magnussen, or done any better than Mick. Hopefully he has success elsewhere and see where that takes him.
i think he came into F1 arrogant and immature but over the duration of the season he has learned and matured, I didn't like him very much at first but as the seasons gone on hes earned my respect.
I had a friend who's father was all in his basketball career, he would come to all the trainings, push him to run extra, work with him on the school court etc. but in the end he didn't make it as a pro. It was just not in him. So, no matter how big push you have from your parents, if you don't have that push from within yourself, it ain't gonna happen.
@@karsonbeauregard6721 He’s driving a tractor that can only challenge the other Haas. So unfair to judge him on only being last. You dont judge an elephant by it’s ability to climb trees.
I mean he came from 17th with arguably one of the best team (ART) to finished 5th even almost finished 3rd with newcomer team who had less experience (Hitech). It's definitely an achievement, but definitely his behavior overshadowed it
He is talented, he is fast. And he definately deserves to be a professional racing driver. You don't win races in F2 for no reason. But he does not belong into Formula 1. It's a bit like all theese drivers in the Caterham and Marussias some years ago. Despite Jules Bianchi at the time none of them was proper F1 material but that does not make them bad racing drivers in general.
@@mikkihintikka7273 But Mick was that much faster. That's why we know that Mazepin is by far the worst performing driver in F1. First his numerous spins and second he was ~1.5s/lap slower than Mick. Nobody, I mean nobody in F1 is 1.5s/lap slower than his team mate. And everybody also knows that Max or Ham would beat Mick by ~1s/lap. That means that Max would beat Mazepin by more than 2.5s/lap. Which means about 2 laps in a race.
It wasn't his tires where gone. The two Toyota cars stayed out on slicks and got caught out by the rain coming sooner than expected. Glock was a sitting duck to the field.
Glock did not intentionally let Hamilton pass. Glock was on slicks, in fact both Toyotas were on slicks. Glock did what he could to bring the car home. Furthermore, you showed a picture of a HAAS car with Mazepin, and it had Mick's #47 on it. Btw, he also received the criticism not for F3 but F2 where he nearly crashed to competitors intentionally. If you're going to do videos, make sure you have your content correct.
As a Yank I've only 1 team to root for in HAAS - Worst pair of cars on the grid, smallest budget, least employable engineers and technicians and 2 rookie drivers for which we all know why are in the seat. I don't think it's fair to judge either driver without this proper context. Of course it's easy to throw mud at such an obvious target but yet, I believe, something good will come from it. I'm hanging in there to see what HAAS has for 2022 since they've saved 2 years of development budget just for it. If you want to really dig in consider that these 2 rookies have been less costly than 2 veterans who were capable of scoring points in midfield cars yet more intent in taking each other out while riding in scoring positions - so there is that. My hope all year was to see both cars make Q2, just once - that would have been worth cracking open champagne as well as any podium....besides, who doesn't love an underdog - Mick is generally not far behind Russell so, it's the car just as GR is in a turd for a couple more races anyway and he will have a year to prove if he can block for Lewis and let him pass like a good little boy or not.
Also a yank. I agree it’s a tough break but if any Haas makes Q2 for the remainder it will be Mick. Mazepin has an interesting trait of not being a particularly good qualifier but also a poor wheel to wheel racer. Look at that, just did a whole sentence without calling Nikita explicitly trash at his job. In all reality, the Haas’ are shit but plenty of other guys would deserve a seat before he joins a competitive team
@@aaronhoekstra6452 Agreed. This is what Nikita deserves since he's paid for it but Mick deserves better if for nothing more than respect of his genetics. End of the day regardless of who's gripping the wheel, it's a shit job but someone is going to do it and there's no glory to be had. It boils down to 22'
To compare to other pay drivers or dad bought the team drivers. In Strolls case I think he has or should get more respect now since I think he has shown he belongs in F1. First season was questionable but recent seasons he has podiums, placed and qualified higher than Seb on numerous occasions that I think deserves the respect and shows he deserves to be there. But sure you can always question his path to F1 but you have to have money to get into F1 there is no way around that. So where the money comes from in his case don't really matter, IMO. Latifi I think is starting to show some pace with car he has and is learning from his mistakes. Mazepin isn't learning anything he does the same mistakes over and over.
I agree that they are improving so far. Although i dont really accept that cash is king especially when drivers who have a lot of money backing them will end up taking a spot from someone else that truly deserves the spot (but they dont have the connections or the money to do so). Like the newest driver coming in next year for example. IMO, piastri deserved that seat instead of him.
@@syanazli2330 Yeah totally agree I have mixed feelings about paydrivers. I can accept it if the quality don't drop too much. Regardless of how much money they bring to the table I think they should have some form of criteria or merits to show to be allowed to get an F1 seat like you have to have finished in top 3 in GP2 or something. As in Mazepins case he finished 5th if I remember correct and that, imo, shouldn't give you a seat in F1 even with the money. The best thing for the sport would be if they had a clear ladder to climb. Say three minor series and after a season you have a draft like in NHL or something so you have somewhat the best talent on the grid. But unfortunately paydrivers are a necessary evil for some teams so we just have to sadly accept. But one can hope the F1 organisation realise the problem and do at least something about it because I think everyone, fan or not, wants to see the best drivers compete either they drive for Haas or Mercedes.🙂
@@lilnotmaster6094 I agree the market isn't fair. And for sure many more deserving drivers has been without a seat in favor of someone with big backing. But if it comes down to a teams survival or not I can accept paydrivers for the time being. The sport has gone too far in terms of money so paydrivers unfortunately won't go away no matter how you see or spin it or like it, imo. I think we can just hope that the paydrivers don't lower the overall standard too much.
If the other F1 drivers don't think Mazepin is a F1 level driver, then he most likely not an F1 level driver. Simple as that and I respect the F1 drivers as a group.
In all honesty, he has matured some and even Mick has had more damage overall on the car than Mazarin. Plus Yuki has even spun more than him, (at least between qualifying and during races). I would say Yuki has even been the biggest overall letdown this year, even in comparison to Mazipin.
He seemed arrogant when he came in and I'm glad he realized that he needed to straighten up or he could lose more than we think. He's matured and I'm happy he went the route of doing what's needed to pursue his career and not let it go out of control.
I don't have a particular fondness for Nikita at the moment, but I am willing to respect his driving ability. He has certainly improved over the course of his career and I think he can compete with Mick at some point.
Max : In Netherlands we drive right side of the road Hamilton : In UK we drive left side of the road. Mazepin & Kyvat : In Russia , road is road drive where you want road is safe 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Just kidding
Marzipan is out now, and Magnusson landed Haas a P5 today, so I don't think to many will miss him. Oh, and the oligarch-money would hurt more than help now.
@@shepherdrm8486 he is driving in the worst possible car, his team decided to focus everything on the 22’ car and not even bother trying to develop the 21’ car. The car by its self will always get beat by any other team.
I suppose Marzipan must have some talent, after all he has managed to get a super-licence. Unfortunately his behaviour and performance is anything but good, has he got any penalty points on his licence yet? If he stays hopefully he will learn how not to take out his team-mate!
Honestly speaking, I have no problems with Mazepin. Not 1 Formula 1 driver can get into a F1 car without massive financial backing and sponsorship. Maz has the leg up with a dad who can sponsor the entire team. Russians in general get a bad stigma about them because of political reasons, but that should not have any bearing on Maz, because he too came up thru the various karting ranks and did well, and thru the junior leagues like F3 and F2. Hey, if I had a dad with money like that, I would ask him to buy me a team, also. No shame in the motorsport money spending game. In fact, Mazepin and his whole family have my respect just on sheer interest and willing to put their money where their mouth is. No one can honestly degrade that amount of commitment in F1.
I think you’re speaking about the wrong guy😅. Max never went to f2 and his does not have the money to sponsor Red Bull. You’re probably thinking about latifi stroll or Norris.
Small reminder that he was up to p16 before being overtaken. Timing charts showed him 1 lap ahead of mick, before nikita lost time and was a lap down himself, behind mick
I personally think we shouldn’t just give them a second chance, he’s not good enough for F1. Face it, we have so many people trying their hardest to hopefully make it there one day, and we have this fucking numb skull on the grid.
Mika Salo, how could you say Mazepin is closer and closer to Mick? I thought it was opposite. In last few races of 2021, Mick was few seconds faster than Nikita in qualifying. Actually the gap between Mick and Nikita was bigger than gap between Lewis and Mick.
He is improving despite all the negativity around him. Meesa say keep on trucking and steady mr M stay the course and when you have a good car you will prosper. Its time for positivity!!!
I used to DESPISE Mazepin, but now I'm actually starting to like the guy. He's changed for the better A LOT lately. The F1 community just needs to give him a chance
@@lilnotmaster6094 well if u were havin fun wid your girl and then you woke up the next day to it being posted on the internet...wouldnt saying "Don't drink with idiots" make sense to say? lol
Go back to his last two races in f2 he purposely drove people of the track to avoid being passed even though it was inevitable that’s when he came into my radar …who is this dick an how is he not punished for driving like a dick then I learned of his character with the young girl find out about other indiscretions…dad money. go away now let alone the whole Russian problem
Yeah I doubt he will get any more opportunities in F1. With Magnussen literally leading Haas in the midfield now, he will be forgotten even more like you said. Nobody will really miss him.
Glock didn't let Hamilton by. He gambled on staying on slicks for the final laps while rain started pouring down harder and harder. Straight up ignorance
Honestly his maturity and passion has shown this season. When he was breaking down because he wasn’t good enough shows he has the passion to win. Just not for everyone and that isn’t to disrespect him. I certainly don’t think he doesn’t take things seriously.
I think he will either make it or brake it. He getting backlash for the things he does is one thing. But people being nasty and borderline evil towards him like in interviews and such is sad and unnecessary. He deserves to be cut some slack, and get a chance to improve himself. The fact is that he will be there next year, and we should hope for him to improve so he can be competitive and create proper racing entertainment for us viewers.
For me Nikita was the bad guy from the start. I wanted to see Illot in the hass with Mick but he got the seat instead. Then with the groping incident he completely lost my respect and I still believe he should have been kicked out of the seat the moment that was posted on his insta. It doesnt matter if you are slightly improving if your a bad person overall. Thank god he lost his seat.

@@raphaelcunha1690 Hamilton's only won the last 2 races and that's because the tracks have favoured Mercedes. Its hardly complete domination. I don't punish Mazepin because its fun. I do it because he deserves to be punished for groping a young woman who only claimed she forgave him because she was being threatened by his family. You cannot possibly put Nikita and Kimi in the same basket as if their personalities are somehow similar to each other. Gachot was arrested for assault and that gave Schumacher is debut but he was going to make it to F1 regardless and would have still proved how good he was whoever he ended up driving for.
Lmao I'm no HAM fan but please do your research, Timo Glock did not 'let Hamilton past' on the last lap - he was super slow due to stasying out in the rain on slicks (similar to Lando this last season)
Even tho he improved and isn't that aggresive and arrogant (which i really appreciate) you still can't ignore the fact that he assaulted a woman, puched another driver in the face, and almost injured tsunoda by crashing into a sign that almost hit him. but still, calling any driver -spin -crash is just a sign that you are mentally ill, most f1 fans are... Also the way his dad manipulated haas (livery with russian flag, financial bond for a seat) is just wrong. Mistakes are there to be made and teach you how to do better next time, but some mistakes can't be forgiven, not that i hate him and disrespect him by typing sh-t like mazespin or mazecrash but i don't want to see people llike him in a world class motorsport. Still, i respect his effort, but sh-t you do in the past will punish you hard.
Go read the court case. She defended him then turned. She got clout and abused it. Ontop of that what about cardi b who drugged ppl. And all of the other rappers out there that have done far worse things.
The biggest problem in F1 is the question of paided drivers and if they have a right to be in the sport. For years F1 has had paided drivers and some were at the top of their game but others were out of their league and should never have been allowed to drive, when it comes to money matters F1 should be checking if the money is lajit and not dodgie money and that should include sponsorship as well as paided drivers and daddy's bank account .
He is not the embarrassment on the radio latifi is. Bitching about strategy always has some suggestion does not realize everyone on the other teams can listen to him if they wish to. Attitude wise Nikkita is mature in comparison.
Rewatch the races. Nikita is actually not that bad. In fact, he's become obscure as hell. After his first few shunts, he slowly disappeared from the TV broadcasting because he didn't get into trouble as much as other rookies. Mick is a much faster driver overall, but he's also prone to accidents. Mazepin sometimes won against Mick because the German unnecessarily broke his car.
@@chrishopkins4252 Mick actually won the F2 series. And don't forgot Callum Illot was up for a seat before Mazespins dad bought it for him. Callum is a much better driver than Nikita in almost every respect.
Mazepin is not a great driver, but his car is terrible so it's not as if he's coming last on purpose. Him and Mick have made a lot of progress this year and will hopefully be more competitive next season.
every f1 driver's father or mother is one of the reasons they are all in f1. to say mazepin is in f1 because of his father is partially true yes... or even mostly true, but the fact is that every f1 driver's parent was the main reason they drive in f1. very rarely did an f1 driver fully got financed by himself or by a "very generous" team or organization or driving academy.
Ohhh but I meant HE IS in f1 because of his father. But you also have good point there. I guess it's internal connection thing. Like still can't wrap my mind around why Piastri snd Dyvries aren't yet signed.
At the start of the 2021 I acknowledged how much he matured and I was almost looking forward to see him drive until he got kicked out by f1 then haas kept getting p5 and into q3 so I’ll just leave it at that
Thank you, and furthermore none of these people watched the Glock and Massa interview at the Brazilian, excuse me, Sao Paulo GP where Glock spoke to both Toyota cars were on slicks and by the time they wanted to change pit lane had closed due to preparing for the celebration and trophy presentation
Glock was at Brazil standing next to Massa explaining what happened. Glock couldn't pit because the pit lane was closed and he was on the completely wrong tire. A very casual comment from the presenter.
Because they are stupid, taking whatever they see on screen and out of context as the truth. There are also people who believe whatever the hell they want just because they don't like Hamilton.

Actually, Tsunoda has spun a lot more and more consistent doing so. Mazepin just spun first races and his car is literally trash. Even tho is he lackin in speed. He still has have a very impressive career before F1.
I think, Mazepin is arrogant but not quite bad as a driver actually. For example, Yuki Tsunoda is very overrated. He scored 32 pts in a solid car. We see how fast the Tauris are in qualifications but he often makes mistakes and loses places. Sometimes, he suffers from poor strategy, due to the fact it's RB's second team and they make some experiments. Still, Yuki missed out on many opportunities.
He has some growing up to do,but so do other drivers…look what happened this year three times between Max and Lewis. Finally the drivers challenged the FIA about the track limits and treatment of Max although no one will air the dirty laundry, it is clear they are doing something. And so it goes for Nikita. I for one hope he gets his head on straight and shows us all how much he has grown as a man. If he doesn’t it’s his loss not mine.
Is this really needed--to further any the criticism of this young man? Eventually, he will either get it together with a car that is not in the basement (like his current car).
