So I Uber in my Clarity so I do a lot of driving in hybrid mode. I have noticed the importance of having a squishy battery - especially in the winter. If your battery is full the motor will have no place to dump the energy. In fact, in the winter, in Michigan, the engine and the battery will get into an energy fight and bad smells will come from the car. It is so painful, for me, to waste battery miles on the highway but in the morning it must be done to insure hybrid performance and prevent power system damage.
This is great content! I’m not a statistician but I followed right along. Lots of effort you put in. Subscribed. I’m looking for a used one on Carvana right now. I’m in Michigan but have free charging at work and can plug in at home too. I’m debating Touring vs base. Curious if it is true about the touring that you can use the app to start climate control as long as it has cell coverage. I would be plugged into level 1 120 volts.
Hi Sean thanks so much for subscribing! I have a touring and charge 99% of the time at home on a 120V with no issues, takes about 11-12 hours when depleted. I have had mixed results with remote climate, likely due to spotty cellular coverage but honestly I think both versions have this capability. If you don't care about leather, the nav pales in comparison to carplay so I'd still recommend that. Either way, both trims are a great buy.
