Thanks, that really helped. I've been practicing on a DJI FPV drone, but now want to get more into FPV flying. Will start with Cinewhoop as you suggested!
Gotta start flying in parking lots - I've broken more than a few arms - truth be told fly over grass and stuff and you'll be just fine with the Nazgul5 Me I upgraded to the Titan with the Xing2 motors and really love it.
@@tomstrojnik I used some old school action cams for a second before I crashed them out....I couldn't imagine flying with a camera that costs more than my drone.
Hey Tom great content, sub'd! Do you think the new Evoque F5 V2 is a good choice? Looking to primarily chase RC Jets, EDF and Wings. I am torn between the 6" and 5" but seems like the 5" would spool up faster, change directions etc, what is your recommendation?
@@tomstrojnik I love the sound. Very distinct. As well as the smoothness of them. They balance much better then a tri blade 7 inch. Which makes less resonance in the arms, which makes the FC happier. And a overall better flying quad.
Hey Tom, would you recommend a 5 inch or a 6 inch FPV drone when doing car chase scenes? Near me, however, there are almost only streets with many trees. So you would have to dodge a lot. An answer would help me alot thanks!
I use my nazgul 5 inch and babyhawk II 3.5 inch as my go-tos. I also own a protek 35 but it’s SOO loud that I hate flying it anywhere that you’d want to have a cinewhoop.
Thanks Mark. I have 4 months old daughter and a lot of filmmaking client work.. So super busy atm, but I will try to upload more videos in the following months! :)
Hey man… this is an amazingly informative video!! And you seem to be the right person to ask: I really want to buy my first 5 inch quad and I think it’s going to be the nazgul evoque. I can not decide between the x frame and the dead cat though… it really looks like the dc version is kinda slow and while a great looking video is my first priority I also want to be able to do flips, sharp turn and descents etc. but don’t want to have the props in my GoPro shots. What would your recommendation be?
I started with and only have a Chimera7. I don’t really care for FPV freestyle coming from another RC hobby (helis, flown LoS), so I just want cinematic shots with small amounts of freestyle around large and vast objects.
Good picks, Tom. I would agree with your picks and own 3/4 of the ones you chose. I use the Squirt V2 and the Cinelog25 for my whoops. I love all my quads for different reasons, precision flying with cinewhoops (also most used for work), Longrange mountain surfing with the 7" to capture natures beauty, the cinelifter for best final resulting shot. But I still LOVE freestyle flying. I got into this as a hobby flying freestyle, and it has led to a whole new world of opportunities. Nothing beats going out on a nice day and smashing around the 5 inch.
I recommend getting a nice set of goggles and transmitter and then getting a small drone like EMAX tinyhawk 2. Learn too fly that and then get a true x or squashed x 5 inch drone like Nazgul Evoque. If you start with a full 5 inch quad it will be too much for a beginner.
@@ashok-lx3os get the BNF Nazgul5 - I'd say titan but it's a bit more expensive. Just take it slow in real life and you'll be fine....big fields for days always helps. I made the mistake of getting frames that were too skinny and light...always breaking them
@@tomstrojnik No doubt! Question for you Tom..do you think something like the Protek 35/Cinelog 35 would handle those types of shots following the snowmobile or would that be a bit of a stretch and would need the 5 inch? Just trying to see what my next size up will be and how much utility I can get out of it. These types of shots are definitely something I want to be getting come next winter!
@@robwiensmedia Nope, you need a 5-inch for that! Because this snowmobile was driving between 80-100 km/h :) Protek35 is ideal for filming slower activities
