0:00:00 - Welcome, channel preview
2:11 - Who is Michelle Papa?
2:39 - Who is Todd Whitaker?
5:35 - Why did Todd write 'What Great Principals Do Differently' and how did the book come about?
8:34 - "You're only as strong as your strongest link."
10:49 - "If the principal sneezes, everyone catches a cold." Great principals are always role models, and so are poor ones.
13:41 - It's about people, not programs. The variable is always the teacher.
16:48 - Effective school leaders treat everyone as if they're good.
20:07 - What should the return to school after COVID look like?
23:58 - Effective school leaders expect loyalty to students and loyalty to the mission over loyalty to themselves. We need teachers who will stand up against leaders on behalf of students.
27:13 - Why do teachers sometimes resist change or self-improvement?
32:55 - What are your recommendations for first-year school leaders?
36:11 - How can we create a culture of 'cool to care' in our schools?
38:11 - What would you recommend for educators looking to learn from What Great Principals Do Differently as a book study?
43:23 - How can teachers expand their influence and take the next step into educational leadership?
47:09 - Final words from Michelle Papa and thanks to Todd Whitaker for joining us.

I wonder if Tim has ever taught in a high violence high school!

I have not. It's been a while since this conversation. Can you point me to the timestamp that you're referring to?

What is a "high violence" high school? Additionally, Tim's entire conversation/teaching is about people, relationships, modeling, and investment in what you want to see. How does that conflict with what helps schools get better?
