The ash and fallout is a serious problem. We are still cleaning it out here in western Sydney from the huge fires a few years ago. At the time, the pool turned black.
That’s crazy to see. How far from your actual abode did the fire come, proximity-wise? I can’t imagine the ash and other blaze-related dust that must have accumulated on your cars and property. I remember the solid dusting of ash we got from Mt. St. Helens in 1980, when I was 13 years old. The volcano was ~180 km away from my home town.
