Did you know that the youngest amber gems are still at least 1.7 million years older than the Homo Sapiens species?
Post-Postem videos are going to occur a week after all regular reviews as a way to address comments, mistakes, and unaddressed points in the corresponding video as well as touch on some OT talking points.

@@axledog7297 :) If anyone's curious, the FAASOR bit was my contribution to the gamma. When discussing how to decouple variables, Jack came up with the switch at the back. The FAASOR was based on the fix I did for the NT. The m3s/+ are simple mostly-balanced (with a slight forward bias) bolt design with a totally unique valve.

Just glad you're back. The lifecycle of a RU-vid creator seems to have a burn out phase & 'life gets in the way' period. Just gotta work on creating a sustainable pace for yourself. The viewers will understand and appreciate the effort.

It's 100% about finding a way to make it work without it taking a part from you as a creator. I think RU-vid video making, like most creative mediums, relies on a healthy creator; without that it's destined to crash and burn.

Glad you're back! One thing to mention re: that comment about how DLX has the operating pressure lower. While it is often a goal for engineers designing bolt systems to have low operating pressure, this idea that if the number is lower, that by definition = better performance is simply not correct. The fact that the DLX Gamma copy operates at -10psi v. a Gamma core (or whatever the number is) is not an objective measure of the how good or not the systems are. Hell, it isn't even an indicator of how 'soft' the shot is. The Empire Vanquish has what many would call the softest shot in paintball, and it runs at around 175psi. The point is that in general, low is good. But, it is not a true statement that 'lower=better' because that number doesn't live in a vacuum (ycwidt?). Welcome back!

Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Planet Eclipse copy the design of the stacked tube poppet intimidator?
@JustCantGetRight
@JustCantGetRight 3 года назад
This is a good question. I'll do my best to explain it, but I am by no means a classic gun expert, so my claims are certainly refutable by someone who knows their history (they should document it too because paintball history is not kept track of well). But basically, If Jack Wood was not a part of the development of Angels sometime before the release of the Intimidator, this point would be comparable, RedHairedTrev made some pretty cool videos about the Eclipse Angels that I 100% recommend. The Intimidator was very revolutionary in how it packaged a paintball gun and what electro-pneumatic principles it put together as well as being really damn good and high above everyone else for the time, despite not being revolutionary in terms of introducing these principles; loosely like bluray, it didn't invent HD video, but it innovated in how everyone could get HD. By the time the Ego was created, the innovative layout standard set by the intimidator layout was already being implemented by many others in the industry in a similar way that hoseless designs have been implemented in every single design in the present. That's different from implementing the unique decoupled FAASOR firing mechanism we see in the Gamma part for part. That's more like the Springfield armory imitating the Mauser 1898 pattern for the 1903 Springfield. At the end of the day, the intimidator made every other future marker better by setting the standard and we can expect a similar result here... the Gamma core in the Shocker AMP is just an obvious thing to point out and roll your eyes to because it's uninspired, unethical (I think it would have been ethical if they were open about where they drew their inspiration with all that said, not to claim full ownership), and sets a bad precedent for innovation.
@atracin
@atracin 3 года назад
I laugh at anyone who thinks SP/DLX used the same engineer (John Chambers). They stole the designs straight up and after 2 iterations both their engines still have problems. DLX/Smart Parts fan boys be butt hurt their favorite company can't come up with good ideas on their own 🤣 Anyways I'd watch any bushcraft videos. Especially if you had your comedic flair to it, it would be very reminiscent to the old AlfieAestheics' videos before he also took his hiatus.
@JustCantGetRight
@JustCantGetRight 3 года назад
Yeah, I don't know who started that lie but a lot of people seem to believe it. I don't entirely blame the people who believe it, in a way, I think they feel like they're defending themselves because if they are SP consumers, that lie would exempt them from feeling like they've supported dirty business. With that said, believing something doesn't make it true. Bushcraft is fun, man! I'll check that channel out. So far it's pretty entertaining and fun.
@axledog7297
@axledog7297 3 года назад
One must set aside loyalty and bias, and embrace objectivity if you want to accurately judge the merits of designs and, ultimately, entire markers. If you can do that successfully, you'll have a very tough time arriving at a conclusion in which DLX/SP manufacture a superior product to PE. A lot of consumers in this market have a very tough time doing that, hence most of the discussions that occur in the cesspool that is Facebook.
@atracin

@@axledog7297 Facebook's cesspool of "information" can be appalling. It's hard to actually get any type of discussion or requests for help. In all fairness didn't Eclipse and other companies copy what ever company that designed the electro pneumatic poppet valve? I dont hate those company's for doing it because players benefited from it and it pushed for more change and innovation in the guns
@axledog7297
@axledog7297 3 года назад
While it's fair to bring up, the situation just isn't the same. The knock-open poppet valve was around long before paintball was a thing, and it was a very intuitive operational layout for paintball markers. The same goes for spool valves - they were around long before paintball was even a thought. However, the Gamma Core arrangement is functionally unique to any other paintball-based spool system around. The fact is that DLX/SP did not organically arrive at the "conclusion" of their X/TM40/AMP systems - they took PE markers, reverse engineered them and built their own system around the exact same principles. That's the issue. Miguel made a great point about John designing the ARC system - while it uses a couple Gamma principles, it's not a copy and has enough functional differences to not be considered as such....and if anyone had a free pass at copying a design he himself helped to design, it's him. That's the difference between real engineering and understanding vs. copying an existing, unique design.

Dude it’s fine to like PE and it’s fine to like Sp you being caught up with the they copied bs like who cares. Guess what fuel injection was a copied principal at some point so was the head light and the seat belt. If you don’t patent a thing you have no claim to it. This tells me either pe didn’t think what they built was unique enough to stand or that there are only so many ways to make a spool style marker. Like all things we are actually starting to see real differences come out in regards to this style spool. Look at the adrenaline luxe. And even if the engines as it were are identical people still prefer a particular brand for other features and reasons.
@JustCantGetRight
@JustCantGetRight 3 года назад
I think it's as consequential as the Springfield Armory copying the Mauser action for the 1903 Springfield. It's going to establish the dominance decoupled firing mechanisms of this style for quite some time. Why are we talking about it? Well because it's such a blatant thing to point out and talk about. I don't disagree that people still have other elements to look at in markers, but when it comes to making an observation about the core (no pun intended) features of a marker, this talking point simply cannot be avoided, especially since breaking down drivetrains is something I do pretty much in every gun video.
