@@ghost-user559 not quite starving. Been to rural parts of China for vacations, I noticed they ate well with fresh meat+vegetables cooked from scratch, no processed food nonsense like the West. Yes, a lot of ppl living in rural China were starving 20/30 years ago, but now, I highly doubt that food is a major problem in China rural areas. Thanks to technology+farming technique China now has an over production of fresh produce, a lot of fresh produce in China are selling for cheap. But, having excess of food doesn’t mean you’re rich. China’s problem now is not food, they’ve already tackled the food shortage problem . Now China’s problem is wealth equality. A farmer in rural China can eat one of the best quality food you can imagine, free range chickens, wild caught fish from the rivers, fresh greens, fresh fruits, grass fed beef/mutton, but, they’re still poor. I’m ethnically Chinese, but, I’m not from China. What I’ve noticed through my travels in China now is that food is not a problem in China now. Toxic food/fake food is a problem in China, but, shortage of food isn’t. Sure, there are still very poor ppl in the rural areas In China who doesn’t have much access to a wide variety of fresh food due to their geography (eg: those who lived deep in the mountains/grasslands), but still they’re not starving, they’re just eating the usual food that you would expect nomads/tribes ppl would eat.

The biggest problem is that she didn’t own her name, her brand, even her RU-vid channel! That’s why she can’t post bcs that’s all under her company(agent) ownership. She didn’t get all the money and she thought her company was taking advantage of her. That’s why she funded a new company under her own name (Li Jiajia) in 2019. And that’s when the war started between her and her company. She even posted few comments at the beginning implying her company was doing something bad behind her. I believe she was under some lawsuits right now so let’s see what happened next. For the record she made it clear many times on Weibo that she had a team help her make videos and she didn’t try to say that rural life is perfect. The point is to make everybody feel calm and relax while watching her video after a long hard-working day.

My mother grew up in a very small ranching community (plus oil) in West Texas and my dad lived on a dairy farm in Vermont. My colleague showed me her videos and was saying that she's making money from her man-made decorative sewing and making millions. But then I just watched her build a bamboo hut with her bare hands. So I'm like, if she's building everything by hand and cooking her own food and everything, how is she keeping her hands from going course? Like, if you ever stroked your hand down a silk blanket, you can tell immediately how damaged your hand is and ruining the silk at the same time. So if she's doing all that hard work by hand (wearing NO gloves for protection), how the hell can she keep her hands from NOT ruining her sewing? That basically shut my colleague up.

I love Liziqi! But certainly I don’t think she farms all of that land herself and does all of those things herself. Just the weeding alone would be multiple people’s full time job. But I love how she shares unique Chinese ingredients, plants, cooking, handicrafts. The fantasy is delightful. But it’s clearly entertainment and she has a huge team of people working with her to create it. Again this is no shade at her she is amazing. I’m just saying I doubt she’s the sole farmer involved in the operation. I also don’t doubt she farms the small part by her house and a portion of her gardens. I don’t doubt she knows a lot about farming. But her hands just aren’t realistically full time farmer hands. Ocean floor dredging/decimation. Dog & cat torture. Ethnic superiority. Genocide. separatism. re-education. denialism. R*pe culture. Biological/chemical warfare. Authoritarianism. And all the best examples of such aren’t coming from the US, that’s for sure. And thank you for your scathing exposé, however youtube absolutely will and often does cancel anyone who dares sneeze funny. RU-vid censorship is rampant right now. IMHO, the slow-motion stick princess is potentially far more damaging with the ideology she represents. I’m sorry, but just as with child sacrifice and modern slavery, any culture that measures flavor in terms of pain and suffering is at best Evil. Your name is literally the Baker, you make pancakes and watch the super relax happy Chinese garden pixie… why Karen when you could just as easily be a dog at festival time? It not worth it. Plus, the young adults of today might honestly be the best generation humanity has produced thus far from what Ive seen and know. I was _never_ in the dark about her immense wealth, she’s obviously showing us a very luxurious rural experience, where you have to have money and a good estate already from which to operate. She inspired me in so many ways and is actually doing all of the work she shows us: building beds, harvesting wild mushrooms and from her garden and preparing grand meals, gathering stones from the woods in her basket and making a stone path; she works so hard even if she has nothing at all to do with the video editing, and I think THAT is what makes her such a good example and why the Chinese government thought of her as the ideal that people should be aspiring to. I would always go and work outside on my own property after watching one of her videos, and it’s been sad to lose access to her life. I wish she would just move to another country and show people that you can make that kind of life for yourself anywhere you go. 😊

I know she has a team recording and editing it, but the rest is assumption, we just don’t know, and assuming she doesn’t do hard work is insane when you consider how hard people (demonstrably the Chinese people) are capable of working… she has never done anything in her videos I didn’t think I could do if I wanted to. I do know the videos show her working plenty hard, she is clearly very capable. Also, most people online only film things they do once- ‘restocking’ videos are usually just people buying those products for the first time (or receiving them for free) and organising them aesthetically; people often film tasks nowadays because having an audience that responds to it is extra incentive (especially when you struggle with motivation, or demand avoidance, as many do), and especially when you can monetize the video as well, you suddenly have more reason to do this thing you might’ve otherwise paid to have someone else do or put off doing yourself as ‘technically unnecessary’, like when she went around gathering stones to make a stone path, she could have done without that path, but she chose to monetise a potential project by making a video about it. It’s very inspiring- even if she has help! Doesn’t everyone deserve to! But I’ve never felt I couldn’t do it alone.

You have no money for food and electricity because you paid the taxes. When I was 20 I lived on the streets for a year and a half busking with my guitar and traveling the country. It was so easy to survive in the city compared to the country. Free food and no need to work as long as you don't need much. Many other countries have better and more widespread high speed internet than the US does, out in rural areas. India and China STILL have higher smart phone adoption rates than the US. People may not have a computer or even running water but they sure as hell have a phone with high speed internet. Reminds me of when I moved to the US in 96 from GERMANY and people asked me if we had washing machines or if we lived in tree houses. Even the poorest countries on this planet have cities with all the amenities of a first world country. The difference between a developing country and the first world is, usually, How much the average person can afford and how many people make up that part of the population. The reason for this is that countries that developed later got the newer, better technologies for much less cost. Just like with a car or pc, the early adopter tax is very high on things like utilities while countries that skipped those legacy technologies and went straight to wireless internet, phone, etc. saved tons of money not having to lay copper/ cables to every home and business. Same goes for high speed rail, highways and bridges. Bigger equipment produced in modern factories has made things much cheaper. China used more concrete in roads and bridges in the last 3 years than the US has EVER used, in all of history.

I always find it so weird when they try really hard to make stuff specifically targeting an English speaking crowd that they don't bring in an actual English speaker to help them out. It's ALWAYS quite terrible English and sometimes it's so bad they wind up accidentally revealing the true motives behind those words because the translation is bad. You'd think an all powerful and mega rich propaganda machine would have such experts on their payroll to really refine it, but I guess it doesn't matter because a majority of people just believe things at face value these days, turrible!

Very interesting. We, my friends and I, have long admired the various skills she demonstrates and have named her the “Chinese Martha Stewart” now on that comparison I have to say Martha Stewart’s original shows, back before the whole prison thing (hmm? Talk about controlling an influencer) we’re extremely idyllic versions of “American Life”. Again, Martha became very wealthy as a result, became a target for powerful figures as well. That none the less didn’t take away from the fact that she was talented and successful by simply doing what she was traditional. Traditions that were fading away in the, then modern, culture. Despite the later turmoil Martha experienced her influence on women of a certain age ignited a renaissance of the home arts in America that continues to this day. If by showing the unique skill and practices of the rural Chinese life, idyllic or otherwise, Liqzi influence in my opinion can be nothing but positive no matter what the Chinese government attempts. Perhaps that seems naive to some but time will tell and when all is said and done I will still enjoy watching her work.

She has an immediate soothing quality which always calms and delights. She inspires and stimulates imagination. Her creations are full of wonder and are outside of the box. For me there is nothing wrong with it. What i really like on Li Ziqi's Channel, is to see the old traditional craftsmanship. I see it as a conservation, of a very old treasure of knowlege, that might be otherwise lost. And btw, you can clearly see that Li Ziqi has real craftsman skills, when she uses tools to work.
