The DiRT franchise of games is beloved by racing fans for it's depiction of Rally and Offroad racing, but it seems to have fallen off lately, why is that? Today we take a look all the way back to 2007 to go from start to finish, and see What Happened to DiRT?

I have only ever played Dirt Showdown and that game is the definition of hype. Watching this video I think Dirt 2 and 3 would just blow my mind

i literally just got DiRT Rally 2.0 and am having a lot of fun and then this popped up on my recommended. my only question, why does this only have 500 views and 62 likes dude? 10/10 vid ngl, def gonna take some notes for my own editing lol.

I have Dirt 3 and Dirt Showdown on 360 and I remember it completely reigniting that love for Offroad racing that Gran Turismo 3 first gave me when I was like 4 years old.

I'm one of those guys that grew up with DiRT 2 as well and frankly speaking it's one of the greatest games I've ever played. Adopting that gritty and vibrant style that Rally Racing had found with new mass appeal from the states at the time was probably the greatest decision Codemasters could've made. Not to mention bringing in the pioneer drivers of American Rally Racing. I could gush over this game for hours on end it really deserves all the love

playing DiRT 2 is just sad to me now... Hearing Ken Block welcomes you to the game really hit different. Colin, Dave, Ken, you guys will be remembered

Ngl even as a brit I never knew that the CBE meant Commanders of the British Empire. Also, Dirt 5's handling model reminds me of Onrush. It has that vague unpredictable feeling. But in Onrush the tracks are wide enough to account for that. In D5 no such luck

Nice work on this! I've been enjoying DIRT 4 lately. It strikes a nice balance of realism and fun, while still being challenging. I have zero interest in buying 5, and honestly it's messed up that people can't even buy 4 now!

Dirt Showdown was my first Dirt game in PS3 in 2015 then later In Jan 2023 I had to bought the steam key online to replay it. Always Love the soundtrack since I do listen along with other racing games ost. Dirt 5 Was My recent one in May 2021. At least playing it with my little sister did enjoy it.

After not playing dirt 4 for about a full year now I went to download it on my pc only to find, oh, I can only get dirt 5 or rally 2.0. I downloaded dirt 5 expecting more of dirt 4 with just a different presentation. I played it for the first time today, uninstalled the game after the FIRST race and then found this vid. The fact that EA couldn't be bothered to at least keep dirt 4 should be a crime punishable by forcing EA execs to spend 2 hours on twitter

Dirt 2 was so legendary for me. i loved playing that game, i wish i can play this and tdu2 again Dirt 3 was absolutely amazing too. I played that game alot more. both games were A-MA-Z-ING!!

I just ended Dirt 3. And you know what? I want to start it again. And Dirt 2 too. There are no other offroad racing games which gives so much joy for playing them. I wish someone would make a sort of a clone of Dirt2/3, but better than Dirt 5 😂.

(btw dirt 3 and showdown are on xbox store) I kinda remember dirt 2 but I only played that with my brother off and off I grew up with Dirt 3 showdown was a mix bag but I really enjoyed it and 4 I digged a little bit after that I just got turned off from playing. 5 was boring as hell
