What this video doesn't mention in regards to 1984 is that the Pats signed Fryar THREE WEEKS BEFORE the draft, because they were worried that if they waited any longer, he would have joined Young, White and Walker in the USFL.

Billy Sims was a huge star back in the early 80s. He had a lot of talent and people expected him to be a hall of famer. Like many other running backs injury cut his career short though he was still really good in the pros as well as college.

It's kind of a good thing that running backs have become so devalued in recent years, since most have such a short shelf life that it now seems absurd how often they used to be drafted in the first round.

I remember there being a 30 for 30 short about John Tuggle who was the last pick in the 83 draft. He went on to be named special teams player of the year by his teammates after his rookie season, and even got a decent number of carries and receptions as starting fullback after injury sidelined the starter. Sadly, he was diagnosed with cancer and never played beyond his rookie season. He died just a couple years later in 1986.

Steve Emtman was one of the most dominating defensive lineman you'll ever see in college football. Try watching some of the 92 Rose Bowl game vs. Michigan. He dominated the line of scrimmage. Why didn’t they mention why Bo Jackson refused to play with Buccaneers for costing him college eligibility

Billy Sims was GREAT in Detroit. Lions had NO offense from time Sims retired until Barry Sanders got there ---- & Have had no offence since then.....

Billy Sims was gonna be a HOFer. Such a shame. Had his injury happened in today's game he might've returned the next season and been even better.

Bo Jackson is a super human. I saw him play against the Broncos and he was clearly the fastest player on the field.

Dru B was great, but his 1st quarter play equaled his 4th quarter, good or bad, he never elevated. TB came in, and his first 4 games 1-3 quarters were crap. Then every time his 4th quarter he snapped mentally into a freak. As a NE fan, we knew the future pointed to TB after game 4 of his first starting season.
