Jake Locker was 1st round pick in the NFL draft. He retired early and its not why you think. MY 2ND CHANNEL: / @flemlorapsrm INSTAGRAM: / flemloraps TWITTER: / flemloraps
Jake Locker ran away from all the bullshit and moved onto a quiet farm with his family. That’s basically every college student/mid life crisis adult’s dream. I can respect that.
I totally dig it too. So much so that a couple of years ago I did it myself. Lol halfway across the country from where I am from, where I didn't know a damn soul or a damn thing about the area and it turned out to be the best thing I ever did in my life. Lol.
You should do one on Phillip Lindsay, the ultimate underdog story from almost losing his scholarship from a torn ACL to star at CU to undrafted free agent to NFL starter
Jake Locker opened up a gym in his home town. I see him every morning when working out. Now I have some better knowledge on why Jake is done with football and focusing on his son's football games.
Steve McNair was a beast but he was lucky to have Eddie George to help him out. Jeff "qb killer" Fisher almost killed Sam Bradford, Vince Young, and Goff. Oh and Nick Foles
Brian T Case Keenum giving your boy anxiety issues. I’m a Broncos fan, been one my whole life, but up until 3 weeks ago, he was playin like trash and it was infuriating to watch. Throwing picks, scared to throw the long ball and holds onto the ball and got sacked. It was a struggle to watch, but he’s performing decent now, so we’ll see
@@ozlovescoffee5595 ain't no almost lol the rams destroyed Bradford career. He was fucking nasty coming out of Oklahoma. They also ran Steven jackson into oblivion lol
To be totally honest with you, I'm jealous of his life now. Much more peaceful, no bs, no CTE. The problem with a lot of people nowadays and why they're unhappy is because their lives are too complicated.
sharpemang damn right. Our toxic toxic, society that places INSANE unrealistic demands on people is to blame. The average person isn’t built to carry that.
He had absolutely no help in college. His team was ass. Still remember gruden and kiper getting into it over his completion percentage when he got drafted
I’m from Ferndale (Jakes hometown), I graduated from Ferndale high school last year. Jake was my coach for 3 years when he came home. He then bought my parents fitness center which was called “thrive community fitness” which he renamed “The Locker Room”, so I was able to develop a special bond with him over the years especially during my senior season. Speaking for me and my teammates, Jake is an amazing dude, everyone at home loves him and his high moral character give everyone so much respect for him. I’m still in contact with him where he’ll check in on me every now and then and see how I’m doing as I’m sure he does with some of my former teammates and friends. He wrote each a Senior a letter, which he gave out at our banquet. Talking about his experience and relationships with each of us among other things, that gesture describes Jake as a person. Just wanted to express my personal experience. Nothing but Love and Respect for Jake.
I work out at Locker Room going on 3 years now. Being from Blaine and Army Veteran, Jake not only is a good motivator in the early morning gym, but he gives out the best discount for Veterans and than "Thanks" each of us for serving. I've NEVER had a millionaire shake my hand to thank me. I was more "star struck" and almost speechless at his being human. Yall sold family fitness to the best person and keeping it strong.
As a Titans fan I remember being excited to have both Jake Locker and Bishop Sankey lmao. Definitely a love hate relationship but I'm glad he has found true happiness. Great video Flem!
Most def! While it was frustrating to see him go down frequently, it’s still nice to reminisce on his game winning td to Justin Hunter against the Chargers
He wasn't great with the Saints. He had a few splash plays, but he wasn't as effective as Sproles and Bush had been while he was touted as an upgrade to both. Kamara is everything those three were supposed to be. As much as I loved Bush and Sproles, Kamara is a different beast entirely.
Reminds me of the great Barry Sanders quote: “My desire to exit the game is greater than my desire to remain in it. I have searched my heart through and through and feel comfortable with this decision”.
Thanks for making a video on our local legend. He didn't have the best career (or O-Line), but he came home and has done a lot to better our community. BTW, love your vids. Keep up that grind
Plus the NFL couldn't give a rats ass about their former players, those greedy scumbags want all the money they can get from them and repeat the cycle for the next generation
Nebula actually, Campbell broke a collarbone in the 2011 season. After that, hue Jackson thought it’d be a great idea to trade 2 1st round picks to the bengals for Carson Palmer. Campbell then got released after the season.
I love and appreciate all that you do man. You really give us a whole different perspective on people's lives and careers. I love the fact also that you really hamper on us to find our true happiness. Always focus on what truly makes us happy and makes our lives easier. Thank you for this!!
He has an amazing life now and he's rich also has a cute gf and was overall a good football player and still had offers so that must feel good knowing that u still had it. Overall great story happy 4 him
The amount of time and effort you put into these are amazing and awesome. All the vids are so carefully crafted exactly like an essay you would have to write for school. I love watching these. Keep it up
Has already happened some to Mariota hate to say it but its not over and hopefully he can still be great. Coming from a titans fan who loved to see him play even at Oregon
@@mackbjizzle8273 What can you say about the Titans O line then especially the interior even Ben Jones is meh. After that Jacksonville game its pretty apparent.
*"Family stressed hard work"* maaaaan everybody say that! (01:11) ooh shit nvrmind that haircut tells me all i need to know about how he was raised. ol Hank Hill line up head ahh
He’s lives about 20 miles away from me I’m from Bellingham. Has came to some of my football games (When we play against ferndale) and hosted a basketball tourney I played in. We won and got to meet him a really good guy
Wow!!! Saying this dude was the going to be the "Savior of Husky football........." is a complete understatement. We hear about Jake as a high schooler and all through the off season coming into his freshman year. For a once proud program like UW at the time, we were searching for anyone to get behind after the horrific seasons leading up to him. The pressure he felt probably would have crushed anyone else, but he lived up to the hype for the most part and restored some excitement and pride for us Dawgs. I'm glad to see he's happy and content.
I've watched many videos of yours and I sent this video to my buddy that played with locker his whole college career, is still in contact with him and said everything is all true so thats mad respect you have all the facts for your videos. Keep killing bro!
I remember when he played at University of Washington. Then he got drafted by the titans and played the Seahawks in the preseason, and and everyone in the stadium yelled Jake!
Well done young man !! You mix very well done documentary, with humor and alot of great life philosophy! These are entertaining and informative to watch but also sadden!! Should be played in high school football locker rooms all across the country!
Damn, I didn't know Jake retired. That's why I subbed to this channel because it's so informative. Keep on doing a great job in the future and prosper.
That’s what Hayden Christensen did too. Say what you want about his acting abilities but he essentially took the money and ran. Married a smoking hot wife, bought a farm in rural Canada, and just sits on a fortune.
I just started following you. I’m amazed at your research, style, honesty, opinion, it’s awesome. I always watch the entire video. And this comes from a Steeler fan. I see the Bengal love. lol. Keep up the good work!
Damn. That’s one of the best videos yet. No idea why he’d think his dad would be disappointed. By giving up the game to focus on his family and health he did exactly what his dad advised him to by finishing what he started by starting a family. Good for him.
This is one of my favorite episodes FlemLo. Well researched and it's great to hear the real story. I honesty thought he retired due to injuries. Lovin' your channel man, max respect from Cape Town, South Africa.
Thanks for all you do; I find your videos enjoyable and more information than anything you can find on TV. Your hard work researching players and sharing is appreciated.
Always inspiring, FlemLo. Great message here. Some of us don’t “figure it out” so early in life as Jake Locker (or you). But even “better late than never” guys such as myself can lose our attachments to worldly ideas of success, and discover more authentic forms if it.
Good for Jake Locker he has his priorities straight and seems to be happy. So good for him standing up for his values and taking care of himself and his family
Your deep research, writing, and ability to tell the story. The glory, trials, and most of all how the players deal with what comes their way! Humanizing these guys with dignity!
Flemlo is the man - always enjoy his insight and amazed at how much info he gets into his videos in a short amount of time and can't stop watching them even though I no longer watch NFL
That's something the Boy Scouts teach. Trust me, the US Military does NOT leave stuff better than they found it; we are paid to "break stuff and kill people!" Huah.
17:15 So, I guess LaVar Ball was not his dad. Jake's dad did it right. A father's role is to help his child grow into an adult capable of making good, thoughtful decisions and taking responsibility for those decisions, which is about the opposite of attempting to manage the child's life.
My guy is so humble, it’s crazy. He seems like such a good dude. Instead of going “big time”, and getting a model wife, he got himself a not very/super good looking girl, and he’s living life how he wants. That’s so awesome. He deserves all of his success, and more. God bless the dude. ✊🏼👌🏼
I have so much respect for locker as a titans i watched all his games and he left it all out there and when he had none left to give he walked away. Hope Jake Locker finds his inner peace
As a Washington State fan I remember Jake Locker's time at UW very well and this video taught me so much about him I didn't know. Even though I hate the Huskies, I still respected the man a ton and now I respect him even more after watching this video. Keep up the good work FlemLo!
Locker was an amazing player who was put into a bad situation. Being on that dysfunctional Titans team with Jeff Fisher and the terrible offensive line around him destroyed his body and his career. Jeff Fisher is a terrible coach and the fact he had so many chances amazes me (Ole 8-8 Jeff.) Locker put everything he had into football even when he was getting murdered every single week. I'm glad he walked away. He made some money, lived his dream, and in my opinion he won't be remembered as a failure but a victim of Jeff Fisher.
people like to shit on Jeff Fisher but he built a powerhouse in the AFC from 1999-2003, he just wasn't good enough to beat some all-time teams in the ravens and patriots.
@@NYG5 Out of his 16 seasons, 10 were losing seasons, and from 99 - 03 in the middle they had a losing season. Dude was trash with an incredible roster he wasted.
I live 15min away from Jake. Actually seen him walk into pets mart a couple years ago with his wife. Also, my brother tackled him in high school he played for bellingham highschool.. (It was a shoe lace tackle but hey once he was in the nfl it was pretty cool for my brother lol) Jake also has his gym here in ferndale. I'm sure hes doing good tho.
Wentzipaul dude your a fucking moron, hes not acting like it is, he's just saying it's a little cool niche for his brother to have tackled a future NFL player, especially when your from an area where that's not a common thing, stop being a douche
Grew up in Washington, was at that USC upset game where we hit a last second FG to win. One of the most unforgettable moments of my life. On senior day i remember the whole stadium chanted "Jake" for 10 minutes straight
How he hell are you only a hair north of 300k subscribers? This is the best channel for this type of content. I can’t image all the research you do for these videos. Then gettin the video done then the never fun editing. Great video as always,
I only lived a few miles from him growing up. Great kid, he was really sensitive to others and deeply cared about his community. He truly was Washington’s rocky!
I’ll always thought Jake Locker was a DOG. I honesty thought he was the truth but sadly injuries and the lack of love for the game didn’t allow us to see his full potential he had.
