The issue isn’t just Caitlin Clark being knocked around it’s the number of BWs (race hustlers), complaining about her getting more endowment deals because of her race and sexuality. Also, a few highlight of WNBA players being physical doesn’t make up for the many highlights of the level of play being far below the standard of what basketball fans expect from professionals.
The "Great White Hope" must be protected at all costs. That's the message I am getting from all of this Caitlin Clark business. Preferential treatment for her is what I see.
People with these perverted psychological issues DO NOT, CANNOT CHANGE. Its how they get their thrill and they ALWAYS want that same thrill, just like an addict, though addicts to drink and drugs CAN change. The perv is a different addiction altogether. 😡
You sound like you're making excuses for the poor behavior by jealous players. -The cheap shot she got was hate fueled and not a basketball play at all. -People don't call the NBA soft because of dirty non bball plays like that, it's because the refs constantly blow the whistle on minimal contact on actual basketball plays. -These WNBA players are very clearly bitter and jealous only because CC is a white girl that's getting attention. They've made that obvious it's an issue for them. If she was black this would not be happening. -They should realize that CC whether they like it or not is good for the league and them. She's already brought new eyes to the league and increased their attendance and brought media attention to the league. That helps everyone in the league get more notoriety. Them showing bad character is terrible marketing for themselves. I get it, there are better players in the league that feel they deserve the attention CC is getting, but that's not the way it works. Tim Duncan is the PF GOAT and never got the Fandom and spotlight. It's not all about skill when it comes to these things. -Some of these bitter players are calling her fanbase racist, misogynistic and say she needs to call them out. That is insane, like you said, she just wants to play basketball and has been classy thru this all. The WNBA is going to lose all their momentum unless they start acting their age. Things aren't going to change overnight. It's a process. Getting eyes on the sport is step one. CC brought more eyes with her. Pushing the person helping grow the leagues popularity away by treating her poorly looks so bad on the league. Gotta put egos aside and let the league grow. Or continue operating at a loss and remain a niche sport forever because egos could not be set aside for the betterment of the league.
Thank you, Flem, for stating the obvious. It's getting annoying to me, too. They are acting like ALL rookies and straight women do not get this treatment in the WNBA.
I really appreciate your take on this. It just goes to show that the "haves" will always take advantage of the desperation of the have-nots. But, through it all, the Gladiators made the best of what they could with what they had.
The physicality is overblown, I agree. Although the other stuff isn’t. The way the other players downplay her records is what tells me they thoroughly dislike her. New all-time scoring leader, oh but I don’t consider it the record because she used a different ball than when I got the record. That’s something the previous record holder said right before giving her the award, like wtf? Just look up what ex and active WNBA players have been saying about her achievements, it’s pretty wack.

Gold is actually a 2nd cousin of mine, once removed, or something like that. I never got a chance to meet her. I used to watch American Gladiators occasionally when I was babysitting on Saturday nights. The way the athletes were treated makes me really sad and angry. That tour schedule was brutal. I can't imagine being dependent on steroids and pain pills while trying to perform physically. I have been on both for many years due to chronic health issues. As more and more dirt comes out about the entertainment industry from my childhood to my kids' childhoods, it is crazy how you always find out how unethical many of the owners and producers of these shows were, and how poorly they treated their best assets, the actors and athletes. The moment I hear American Gladiators I think of Nitro, Lace, Gemini and Zap. They were the standouts to me and were the show's identity. To think it could be a success without recurring faces that the audience roots for is to have zero grasp on what made the show popular.
The girl friend is evil, & I pity any man that goes out with her, she lied about being slammed to the ground which was a total lie, she attack Travis on his doorstep the CCTV showed she lied one of the trugs had a gun under his top at the front door & because the turned up at midnight that clearly states they not turned up for dinner, NO they turned up to shoot the place up & they came unstuck. the carry on shooting at the car I'd say was to make sure they didn.t think to turn round & come back away's let your Threat retreat out of sight. Those in the car learn the hard way dont go into battle if you dont know the truth. because the girlfriend lied about everything.
Easy solution. Keep entire staff and move the show to RU-vid. Everyone on the cast has enough money to float the show a few seasons if necessary. If it doesn't work out at least you tried
I have been playing BBall since I was like 12 and now at 78 I think I have a fair idea what BBall should look like if it's played as the science and sporting artform it truly was designed to be. Not this ghettto, jailbird nonsense I see in the WNBA. Hey I get it this is a physical game that requires strenght, speed and finesse. All I see from these women is a lot trash talk, hard knocks and very little help for each other. No wonder I never watched this nonsense. And now that they have someone with real cache like CC they don't like it....let;'s beat up the kid and make her pay. I get it rookies need to know their place right. Yep keep beating up the cash cow and see what that will get you.
The NBA changed the rules for Jordan and eventually all players that they deem superstars. The NFL did the same thing for QBs & WRs. This is where we are in sports. The athletes get paid so much now it’s just good business to protect those assets as much as possible.
When you were talking about the first two seasons of a show being great then watching the 3rd season thinking all the writers were fired made me think of Danny Phantom. However, the main writer wasn't fired on that show, he just left. Point is that the creator/producer of shows like Danny Phantom just want to prove what they did is the reason a show is great. They forget it is mostly about the cast/voice actors that make a show great.
Huh. I watched this video because I was interested in the gladiators. But now, I am thoroughly impressed with the creator of this video. The combination of insight, intelligence, vocabulary, and down to earth relatability is fantastic. You got a new fan right here
