Not always yes there are people who are just evil within, but a lot of people are brought up to be evil. But this man is a sociopath and is a monster and I think that he's been up to these stuff before.
What kind of stupid comment is this? It DOES matter how you are brought up. Exceptions don’t mean general truths aren’t…..generally true. That’s like saying, ‘I passed my test without studying, therefore it proves you don’t need to study to do well” lol.
When I first saw this I thought of “oh sh*t Darren Sharper one of the leagues hardest hitter” I never knew about his life after the nfl it’s sad that this man did what he did he deserves all 18 years
I remember the dude was on ESPN every week as an NFL analyst commentator too. He’s a smart guy who spoke very well in front of a camera. Sad to see him do such a crime.
As someone that lived in New Orleans as this came out I can say very confidently that this whole story sent absolute shockwaves through the city. We thought of him as one of us even though he only played for us for 2 years. He was beloved, and that made the betrayal hurt so much more. He deserves every minute of the 18 years he got.
Having met Darren and his Brother Jamie, it still blows my mind that Darren was such a monster. I never got that vibe from him, which still sickens me to this day
Ted Bundy seemed really charming and nice on the outside. It is their m.o. Some people are really good at charming people with their bullshit. Hell, look at politicians.
Unfortunately there can be no doubt that man is, on the whole, less good than he imagines himself or wants to be. Everyone carries a shadow, and the less it is embodied in the individual’s conscious life, the blacker and denser it is. -Carl Jung
1 Cor. 2:11 - "For what person perceives (knows and understands) what passes through a man’s thoughts except the man’s own spirit within him? Just so no one discerns (comes to know and comprehend) the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God."
Except that most people said he was an upstanding citizen with good character. Since there is zero proof that he was that way his whole life and plently of people vouching that he was a good guy, you can't make an absolutist statement like that. Yea, maybe the odds are that he was this way and wore a mask for the first 38 years of his life and fooled everyone...but you can't say that with certainty when the only "evidence" is to the contrary.
As someone who has been drugged and assaulted, thank you for bringing light to not only this story, but also the pathetic practice of some women claiming to be assaulted and spreading lies, making those of us with actual traumatic experiences struggle to find true help and compassion. It's so sad that the people in his life have to deal with the fact that although they did everything right, they provided a wonderful upbringing, he still chose to be absolute dirt.
Honestly, this is such an overwhelmingly small number of women that I can't help but to feel like the people who use it as a reason to call true victims liars are just grasping at straws. I could understand if it was something common, but it truly isn't, and people weaponize it against actual victims like it is. :/
You did an excellent job presenting an incredibly disturbing story with honesty & compassion for those negatively affected. Props to you for not dancing around this subject and for choosing to do this story in the first place. We will sometimes never know what goes on in a person's mind to think that doing these things is acceptable
Dude I’ve been watching your videos for a couple years and you’ve improved so much. You were already good now it’s just poetic the way you cruise through a video.
Darren sharper was one of my favorite safeties of all time. And I remember when the news came out I couldn't wrap my mind around why He would subject himself to this kind of behavior. Even till this day given his upbringing and the kind of person that we all believed he was NOBODY could've seen this coming. I'm absolutely devastated for the women who were affected by his monstrous actions. This reminds me of the television show Dexter... It appears no matter how much one tries to shelter their true nature... Their "Dark Passenger' can get the best of them. Just a very sad & unfortunate fall from grace. Great video brother
Great Job Bro. I don't want to blame this crap on CTE cuz he could've easily been doing it during his playing days he just had more time once he retired
I think Darren literally became a victim of his own financial/societal/sexual largesse. Jaw dropping incredibly beautiful women became so easy that he morphed into dark narcissism. No excuse of course but this oftentimes happens with the filthy rich people.
Sir, this is the absolute best telling of a story about a human that a human could possibly tell. You explored every.single.aspect of his life and you revealed information that is not in the immediate public arena. Great job, Sir!!!
I honestly feel for his daughter. I don’t know how she’ll ever be able to reconcile every thing her father has done. Your love for a parent is a hard thing to get past but in a case like this I don’t know how she’s going to deal with this going forward. I feel for her.
This is what boggles my mind about predators like Sharper: he has a daughter! Yet he had no problem doing these despicable things to someone else’s daughter! He shamed his daughter, his parents and his family. Sad indeed.
@@Bitter_Truth_Show Not just men. Humans in general. Some are just better than others. She has nothing to fear from him. Most serial (killers, rapist, etc....) don't treat their families in the same manner. In fact that compartment thing comes heavily into play
I know one of the women Sharper drugged and assaulted. She filed charges on September 23rd, 2013. She's actually someone I grew up with as she's my cousin. What he did changed her life and way of thinking of things. In court, he looked at her and said "I'm not a monster" after she called him one. Luckily, she's married and moved on from what he did as best she could, but it still haunts her. That man should never see the outside of a.prison.
I’m so glad you covered this and went over that beginning, cause so many people will say “oh but so and so is etc etc there’s no way” it creates this facade for abusers it’s so dangerous, and the bs of “I don’t know why I took this path” I feel like he was on this path just not as bold
This is hands down one of your best videos. This entire situation was bizarre, disturbing, and sad for all the victims involved. Who knows how many victims he had prior to the ones coming forward. Just tragic
It was a head scratcher when this broke. Dude was rich, famous, good looking, and suave with ladies. So this seems to be about POWER and CONTROL. Was the POS factor always there or did it develop? Doesn't really matter because it came out in full bloom. Hopefully his victims (revealed and hidden) have found peace and recovery.
It got him off, simple as that. Majority of offenders have gf/wives, or are "popular with women ". Same with Kellon Winslow Jr. Dude could have almost any hot chicc, but out here assaultin old ww
FlemLo it’s really great to see how you & your videos evolved over the years. You always had lots of talent but just like all pros you’ve really honed your craft & you should be proud. This video on Sharper is some of your best work.
I’m glad someone finally covered this dude. He kinda fell through the cracks from a media coverage angle when all this went down with him. I remember seeing a story here and there, but no one really got into how horrible his crimes were and everything that he was accused of. I don’t know how either, because he was a pretty well known player. I think he even worked at the NFL Network when this all went down.
He was very good on the NFL Network, fired his ass, now Nate Burleson's got the job, has his own morning NFL network show, and on CBS, all would've been Sharper's.
Yeah about four or five months ago the thought came through my head I wonder what's going on with the Darren sharper thing so I started searching RU-vid to try and find a special talking about how horrible his crimes were and there wasn't hardly anything said about it until I saw this video
That's exactly why you didn't hear much. NFL don't want bad press so they cover up anything involving them even something like this they want to keep it under wraps.
What a dark, dark, twisted soul underneath the handsome, charming articulate exterior. Prayers for healing to his victims known and unknown. Great job on such a very sensitive topic.
Whenever a dude compliments a famous woman in a RU-vid reply, and he says she is pretty, there is an angry upper-middle class Karen from Colorado (with a two-year-old son named Brooklyn Cody Vanderhorn) who gets her panties in a bunch. "What do her looks have to do with anything?! She's a talented artist, you disgusting man pig!" She claims it is OK for women to say a famous man or woman is attractive because women aren't rapists or sexists. Karen's a joke. She likes to lump every guy into that same category (except for Brad Pitt and Zac Efron, they're special). Karen's husband is an intelligent and handsome man with a great personality, but Karen's a cold fish and no amount of red wine is going to make her a good companion. I feel sorry that man. Wait, what was the question. This reply is not going against Lyn, she just gave me a springboard. I'm sure she's a lovely lady.
With two daughters of my own, this story hits differently. Knowing that I played football and the type of attention it can give you. He took full advantage what was given to him in the wrong way and won't be forgiven. Well done Flemlo.
You don't know the circumstances, so don't be to quick to judge, by the way I have two grown daughters and three grandkids, know the facts first before making a comment about someone that you don't know!
The same can be said about literally any profession. It's only magnified in this case because of his popularity and how fiercely football players are revered and loved by fanbases.
Flemlo, I just want to say thank you so much man. 4 years ago you got me started on reading by talking about the Audible. I was fresh out of college & honestly hated reading. Your recommendation gave me courage to go back into it for fun, and now I love reading and I have learned so much. I’m 25 & I run a business with employees under me now. I use lessons you talk about like empathy with them & with all of my clients now. Thank you so much, keep creating ❤️
Mr. Flemlo, I am always impressed by how good your videos are and how much work you put into them. You also take so much time to probe the humanity of the people involved and you display so much empathy which is lacking so much in this world. Thank you, sir. Keep making them, and lord knows, we will keep enthusiastically watching them. Thanks.
@@coreyferguson1341yea but that’s still a helluva of a deal that still comes to 2 years a victim they could have hit him with a plea bargain of 35 years and he probably would have took it cuz he was guilty and trial would have carried a very long time
Ah yes, because a rich dude getting the bare minimum punishment after being found guilty is umheard of. The US judicial system is known worldwide as paragon of true justice, and this is the first and only time money has ever swayed the verdict 😂 truly amazing 🤦
Born and raised in Baton Rouge, still live here. When I say this story rocked Louisiana, it was like a category 5 hurricane. Bro was a legend and then this came out and it’s like damn dude.
I accidentally found you and I am so happy that I did Young Man!! You tell a great story and you show great empathy. You've got a new follower here I agree, he didn't just start doing this, he's been doing this. Peace and love to all 💛
This is sad, being a victim of assault myself my mom always talked to me about being safe .never allow anyone to bring you a drink that you did not witness them pour or open yourself and never leave your drink sitting anywhere take it with you, please be safe out here 🙏 ❤
Thank you for keeping it so real on everything… my condolences to any women/men who have gone through SA & men who are falsely accused of such a horrendous crime. There needs to be more RU-vidrs like you.. but I don’t think anyone will ever compare .. happy new year!
Thanks for acknowledging the men who were assaulted. And It's horrible people go through such a thing, if you are the type of person that wants to force someone to have sex with you you need to be sentenced to life
I know people say it too much and blame anything on it, but I wonder if he has CTE after 14 years as an NFL safety. The way he went off the rails so quickly and basically did this over a year and a half. And that he kept doing it after knowing he was investigated, it seems like he almost had a compulsion and was completely out of control.
@@extragoogleaccount6061 could be. It affects the frontal lobe of the brain which is the part decision making, impulse control, and foresight are controlled. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a correlation. I don't think CTE can make someone a bad person but it can affect their judgement and impulse control
I have got to give credit where credit is due. You have been doing an excellent job bringing us stories from the NFL for years now. Every time the production is on point and excellent in every way. Congrats on your Bengals I know you have been a fan for many years. What a great job all around. I want to thank you for all your hard work please keep these coming. Thank you Flemish! 😍🤩💪🐜
Hell yeah Flemlo! I’m very excited for this video. You are the man. 😎 he was one of my favorite players to watch when I was young and it broke my heart to hear about the horrible things he was doing… he was a hell of a player. Just sucks.
What an amazing video, Flemo! Sometimes there are not enough words to really comment except the anger you feel towards him as a man. He's definitely being inducted into the HALL of SHAME 🤬
I love flemlo for covering stories like this and him explaining how some are afarid to go forward because that's who lie cast doubt on others who are actually assaulted. Respect my guy. Also I love how you say they should have a middle person for this stuff that has a background to see how they react to determine if their mad and it's a lie. You legit described SVU. Not all places have em but they should, my friend was taken advantage of and assaulted and our small town police station did nothing. 4 years later 7 more accusations again the same guy. The state police finally got involved and that's what it took for them to get him. When he was arrested in total 11 women came forward they believed their was more but small town means rumors travel and we all believe they were afarid too cause of the rumors going on about the 11 who did come forward
I appreciate how you edited this video! Sometime, as it happens with ESPN and the other big media companies, most of the piece glorifies the person's accomplishments and then at the end, and small part of the piece, they dwell on their transgressions. I think for them there's dissonance between the person they're talking about, what they're being accused of, and how their actions hurt their victims, those Media companies when presenting the athlete almost want to erase his transgression by glorifying his 'past career and his life' in most of the piece they're presenting and denigrating his transgression as a footnote at the end of the piece. When you say you're an advocate for women's safety, I believe it because your actions, how you presented this story, speak a whole lot louder than words.
You think feminine ass espn gonna have this on TV in 2022? Lol. No. They won’t even say the word rape. I mean I guess but the wording would be damn near annoying by the end of it.
@Andre Samuels Same thing with NFL Network. I recently had a chance to watch it for the 1st time in almost 10yrs. and they now have like 2 chicks and a guy hosting most of the programs. Wtf is that? Just like that Chinese chick on Espn.. Ain’t nobody want to see her annoying arse on TV. Get her outta here! They ruined sports TV.
@@Samuelfish2k 🤣 facts! ESPN WONT Ever do this type of crap! They sweep things under the rug and never mention it like it never happened rather then bring awareness!
I’m someone who followed his whole career. I’m from the same city as him and played football as well. I say that to say I looked up this guy when I growing up. My son currently goes to the same high school he went. What a way to disappoint all of the people who looked up to you. I was one of those kids who saw him make it out and that inspired me. Who knew he would turn out to be a low life creep
Damn man ngl thought you was never gonna cover this guy. He was a monster on the field. But hearing what he did damn man killed all the respect. Still don't like talking about him at all
Yeah this made me sick to my stomach. You have to be pure evil to do this sort of thing. He’s rich and good looking, he could get women without having to drug any of them or take advantage of them.. but he chose to do that instead.. to me, that just proves his evilness.
Love the correction “it doesn’t mean everything” that’s fantastic! I’m stealing that! 10 years teaching, 12 years coaching…. Never heard it! F’n love it!!!
As a Saints fan, it was so heartbreaking when we heard this. That SuperBowl team was so awesome and all the stuff they did off the field made them feel like family. Stuff just sucks man, hopefully the women found peace and weren’t traumatized.
your videos, whether it be uplifting/inspiring or touching on darker topics like this one, about the sport we all love never fail to both entertain me and teaching me something about life itself. keep it up bro 👍
This is a great video. A sad story about someone who was doing so well, instead of using his fame to help people he was hurting women. This type of stuff happens so much and no one intervenes to stop this behavior.
Completely. Flem is a real sports reporter. Espn or fox should hire him. Oh wait, they want bs artists like stephen smith. Anyway flem, you picked up a new subscriber.
836k subscribers (something like that). Bubba I know we have never met but I am super proud of you. This is how it is supposed to be someone makes incredibly good content should have this many subscribers as opposed to the people that put out garbage and have millions. Your s*** is top-notch my man keep putting out the good stuff I've always loved your channel!!!!
Sad story. I like how you do such a great job with your videos. You takes such a wide scope. The stories are about so much more than professional sports
Your work here was thoughtful, carefully phrased and intelligently thought through. I have come to expect no less of you, as you have demonstrated a superior capacity to provide an evenhanded, balanced presentation of the facts to help me to understand all aspects of the issue. Thank you for your fine work...
Me either! I jist remember him having a great year that ended up being the bounty gate scandal then i stopped hearing about him. Totally fell thru the cracks. Thanks to the creator of this video for shedding light. Super thorough and well narrated. I would have listened if this was 2 hours long.
Wasup big bro, you just read articles and videos about stories like this? I love what you do bro 🙏🏽 KEEP GOING, I’m new to the family but can’t wait to see more content!
Got a new follower out of me! Very well spoken and the way the video is set up it was easy to follow along and understand! Also love your outlook on things and the commentary!!!! Keep doing what your doing you are great at it!!!!
Darren Sharper was one of my favorite players growing up. I knew some of what he did but had no idea the full extent of his crimes. Great video as always and hope to see you get to a million subs in the next few months!
Damn bro, I appreciate you covering an extremely tough and sensitive topic like this in this manner and trying to do your best. I think you did it well but I also have never watched anything that made me physically sick to my stomach multiple times. I hope he rots in prison.
The sad thing about this story is that it is about power and control over another person. It is a shame that he has a daughter that will be traumatized by the fact that her father has committed these crimes. I agree with you that you cannot always blame CTE because that can cause a person to dementia like symptoms or depression which are two totally different issues. If he were to get out of prison he should not be allowed to be around situations that will trigger him to do the same thing .
FlemLo, your reporting is top notch. I really appreciate your efforts to bring forth a lot of factual information. I feel that I always get a deeper understanding of the people you report on. Excellent work.
Bro. I’m glad you did this story. I knew I could count on you to give an unbiased and factual account of what happened. No one does it better. It’s an ugly story, but it had to be told. Thank you for that.
His brother stands by him. It is not like he murdered them to him. Yes is embarrassed by his brother being a psycho. These women are bitches to these guys. The evidence that showed that he was sick is the fact that these women were going to give him ass anyway. Either later that night or the next time out for sure. Why and how do you think he was picking 2 and 3 women in his company? With probably more that would have joined. Common sense please! He was/is a very handsome man and success with that. He attracts women not woman. A man that actually it all: look, height, success, money, personality, commands the room, 15 out of 20 women in the room wants him, and drugs them for what he will get, he is a sick man and his true sickness is power will accept rejection, but that rejection is not a rejection. It is I will give it to you next time. But his is, you know who I am, I want now!
Agreed because In this situation I just don't believe it had anything to do with CTE this man had deep rooted issues. Some folks have a darkness they hiding.
This will definitely have to rake up there as one of those most bizarre off the field criminal cases from a former and even active NFL player. You just feel for all the victims who crossed this man’s path smh
