It isn't Union propaganda, it is the Writers desire to create animosity, to bait viewers, and generally cause they repeat stories rather than research for facts. Don't bite their bait ...
I talked to a history professor who researched this topic. He told me that it was simply distributed to Confederate soldiers for backpay. No mystery. Everything else just makes for a good story.
That history professor Steveolive9991 is probably partially right but I think many of us love the idea of Confederate gold buried out there and seekers of its treasure Best sunny greetings from 🇧🇲 Bermuda
Well it’s not just love of the idea. I think it’s probably safer to say this is 100% a mystery. There are a lot of smart men that have searched for this gold that came to their conclusion on research as well. I guess what I’m saying is if there was really a clear cut simple truth that was easy to figure out within the available research materials this story would have died a long time ago. That doesn’t make it true but it certainly disqualifies if from being 100% untrue as a fact.
I remember reading that Jefferson Davis was caught with only about twenty thousand Mexican pesos which was supposedly all that was left from the Confederate Treasury.
Hmmmm....I never think any agency would ever lie. All government agencies would give no response or present a well worded answer of confusing information if they don't want to give a truthful answer....🤔🤷🧐
