Luke Kuechly is one of the great NFL Line Backers of our time. Here's a look back at his career. My Music/Vlog Channel: / @flemlogames INSTAGRAM: / flemloraps TWITTER: / flemloraps
He learned from the example of Patrick Willis. He's made his money, accomplished a lot, but knew that to keep playing would cost him his health. I'd rather see him retire now than be a broken shell of a man in 15-20 years time.
@joseph drummond bro I am not ready for that. Wentz getting his contract with over 100+ million guaranteed basically indicates he knows he is an injury away from retirement and the guy is only 27 years old. :(
That makes total sense, untill you figure out that he genuinely loved the game. He wanted to play 15+ years. Theres a huge difference between people/players who see it as an end to a mean, and players who love the game.
Well he did take a lot of big shots to the head in his short time in the league so idk if his health outlook for the distant future is that certain. Hopefully he'll be okay though, he seems like a really good guy.
Went to the same high school as Luke, and one day I was lifting in our high school gym, and some giant guy stands over while I’m bench pressing and says “you need a spotter? . It was Luke Kuechly. I was a scrawny freshman kid who liked like he had never been in the gym and luke treated me like we had been friends forever. I’ll never forget moments like that. Great video.

Damn man. That’s something you will always remember for the rest of your life
After the video of him visibly confused and crying on the back of the cart I genuinely worried for him most times I watched the panthers afterwards. I’m actually glad he’s retired full of health
Jay I’m not a natural NFL fan, I’m Scottish so I was probably still quite new to the sport when I seen it. Was shook. That and Shazier injuries both caught me different
I've been watching football essentially since I was capable, and that was, bar none, the most concerning concussion I ever saw. Usually you'll see a player disoriented, but frustrated, over a concussion. With that one, we saw the disorientation, but it was combined with genuine fear and confusion. That is a tough man, by any standard, so imagine what's going on in his brain to break down on national television. I'm a N.E. fan living in Charlotte, and to see even his own fans making fun of him, and calling him less than masculine names, was beyond disgusting.
@@MongoLikeBeer I'm not a Panthers fan but definitely a Luke fan! He is a super tough dude & as much as he still wants to play I'm glad he walked away with no further complications! Would've been horrible to see another Shazier injury or another concussion could do God knows what to his brain. Just curious, u still gonna be a Patriots fan when Bellachick & Brady are gone & they are this years equivalent of the Bengals or Redskins?!
@@Mandy_39 I'm also a Luke fan, he's one of the greatest linebackers we'll ever see. And of course I would, I'm not fair weather. Grew up in New England, was a fan before Brady, before Belichick. Obviously no plans of changing afterward.
It's okay bro we can always get somebody else but we can never get another Luke Kuechly. I love the fact that he's walking off into the sunset he's a good man I'm from Charlotte and trust me he's a damn good man not just football player. Respect
dw. Isaiah Simmons (best linebacker in the country, probably gonna run in the 4.3s) will probably be around at 7th overall for yall to replace Luke with. No one will ever play the game like Luke did, but i would love to see what the Panthers could do with a player like Simmons at linebacker.
@@panthersfan8751 shaq wasn't a backup this year someone gotta fill in his spot he just moving to his real position. Honestly I say fuck defense in 2020 get some heat on offense and let cmc and cam loose
Made a grown man cry, seeing him leave is like watching superman die.. still hurts talking about this seeing of my favorite panther players leave due to his body saying he can't do it anymore.
Wtf did his team win? 8 years don't get you in HOF. He had a good career, he is not a hall of Famer, he is a quitter. he couldn't cut what he took to be a hof player. That's the bottom line
@@colevanboceg5399 great player man it's just a fact, 8 years does not qualify you for hall of fame especially when your team was subpar. He took his $ and ran, that's enough for him. Next man up.
I will never forget his performance in the Cowboys vs Panthers Thanksgiving game. Back to back interceptions and tackles all over the field. It was beautiful and I will always ALWAYS remember that game. I am so lucky to have been able to watch him in his prime. I’m so glad he’s going to scout for us, and even if he doesn’t end up in the Hall of Fame, he’ll always be a Hall of Fame player in the Carolina Panthers franchise.
Played some football, went to a Super Bowl, had some fun. Now he wants to travel, do all the things he wanted to do when he was young, and now he has time to do it. Good for Kuechly.
Ken Fulton {Baby Elder} ain’t that the truth. It’s hard as a fan but as a fan you should support the players priorities. I’d hate to see my favorite athletes get honored 20 years down the line needing a walker just because they decided to play an extra 5 years on a cellar dweller of a team (sorry panthers fans). I’d wanna see my franchise LB who helped lead a SB run be able to walk to midfield and be able to appreciate the recognition from the fans
No particular standout memory. But I remember everytime I watched him play I was amazed at how he was always near the ball. Sideline to sideline had an insane motor and never took a play off. Rare combo of talent , effort and knowledge. Hes a once in a generation type player . Should be a hall of famer.
Its not crying. Its a system overload in the brain. His brain was damaged and stunned. So he was unable to even think right at the monent. He wasnt crying. It was random communications being fired off by damaged brain receptors. Look at his face he looks like a child. This is why.
@@bradkirchhoff3751 he's talking about the scene where luke was discussing his decision to retire, he starts to choke up talking about it. The concussion scene you are right although he might have been crying too as you are still "cognizant" when concussed, the messages are just delayed and don't always get across. I've been concussed and I compare it to an LSD trip plus a headache. You don't get the high or visuals that comes with LSD but it scrambles information in your brain in a similar way, and unlike LSD you can't rely on it to end within 10 hours or so, so it's much scarier. You constantly feel lost, and for a grown ass man that is a scary enough feeling to illicit tears.
I’ll never forget Luke’s back to back interceptions of Tony Romo on Thanksgiving day ‘15. Greatest reader of the offense EVER and is worthy of the HoF. No linebacker was more impactful while he was in the league.
That clip of him getting carted off the field even showed players from the other team coming over and giving him props. That just proved how much respect that players had for him.
His legacy will live on a long time and you gotta respect him for being in the league for as long as he could because being a LB isn’t easy because ur constantly taking hits. RESPECT TO LUKE KUECHLY ✊
Yeah he only really was because he knew it would plague his playing again. And when you have such a love and passion for a sport, nobody should blame him
Met him in person at our church. He and his girlfriend are genuinely two of the kindest and most humble people we have ever met. I know it is sad for him, but, I’m glad he is out of the brutal beating of his body. Stay well, Luuuke!
Something that wasn’t mentioned that I feel like shows how truly good Luke’s character was, is that despite he was the greatest linebacker of his time, he restructured his contract on more than one occasion in order to free up cap space for the team to spend. My favorite defensive player of all time 🖤💙
I’m a saints fan, and boy am I not gonna kiss playing him on sundays. I will however miss watching him play other teams. This man was a rock solid monster, and I have nothing but eternal respect for him.
I'm actually from Matthews, NC outskirts of Charlotte. I agree with everything that was said, very well played! Luke was fantastic at his position but, his health is greater than a sport. Thank you! Tremendously Luke & live well🙏
Kelz Supreme hmm let’s see Patrick Willis dick Butkus maybe Jessie tuggle Bobby wagner willie Lanier and more just saying that I’m a falcons fan but definitely top 25
I’m a huge Dolphins fan and he reminded me so much of Zach Thomas. I loved watching Luke play. Good for him for doing the best thing for him though! You only live once and play football is just a small fraction of your life.
Man when Luke was drafted in 2011 and we got Tannehill me and my friends weren't on the "suck for Luck" train we were all about the "lose weekly for Kuechly." Great player! Wish him the best
I legit teared up when I heard he was retiring and saw his video. One of the all time greats in such a short time frame. He needs to come back as a coach ASAP
Loved this guy cause the way he played. He will do well in anything he try’s. I personally would like to see him get into coaching...damn he would be great at that too!!!!!
My favorite game of his was when he played the cowboys and made 2 insane picks and took one back for a TD and completely dominated a declining Tony Romo
As a kickboxer of 15 years dealing with symptoms of CTE at the same time, Luke 100% helped me accept my own reality to pull back training, and find a new passion in coaching. Much respect.
I’m a panthers fan. This was a great video. Brought back tons of memories. Man I cried so hard when Luke retired. That man was a beast. He laid his whole body on the line everyday.
Flemlo should have more followers; he's a great presenter; knowledgeable, does intense research and delivers in with impartiality. Give me this over Steven a hole or shit Bayliss anyday.
My favorite Luke Keuckly memory was when he destroyed the rams cunningham Jr. At the line of srimmange and the whole RAMS crowd was chanting LUUUUUUUUUKKEE
When I attended 2015 training camp and he out of many other panthers signed my football and I’ll never forget the moment when he gave it back and patted me on the head
That rookie hazing story made me smile. I like the fact that his hazing was something wholesome and probably helped him build bonds with his teammates, rather than a lot of other rookie hazing stories where it's just mean spirited stuff like "lol we just stuck you with an insanely huge dinner bill, which could actually mess up your financial future hahaha"
I think he'll be right on the cusp of making it in. I say that because the only linebacker I saw in the HOF with 8 seasons in the NFL was Dick Butkus. Most linebackers in had double digit years in the league. Due to how many All Pro and Pro Bowl seasons Luke had though, not to mention his stats. I think he should get in.
Considering all the talent that doesn’t make it into the HOF..it’s kinda wack of a thing. It’d be better if the HOF was voted by the entire league instead of a bunch of ol’heads
@matthew baker Sterling Sharpe was my favorite player as a kid actually. For a school project in second grade I even wrote him a letter telling him he was my favorite. He played 7 years, put up huge numbers, and did get inducted. I was just looking at linebackers who've got in and in terms of NFL seasons Kuechly could get snubbed. Marshawn Lynch will likely run into same issue when it comes to getting inducted due to his overall stats, not years played. With Terrell Davis just getting in, Marshawn probably will eventually but each position group seems to have different HOF criteria. There's a lot of garbage politics that go into it as well. I think Kuechly will make it and should, I just think it could take some time.
The hype was real with this young man. He was my favorite MLB second only to Patrick Willis. They were both monsters. Hope he lives a long and healthy life!
I’m lucky enough to get to see him play in person he was a amazing player. And I grew up in his neiborhood my family knows him because my mom babysat him. When he was a kid.
Best memory of Kuechly, vs. Cowboys in 2015 when he intercepted Romo and stiff-armed him as he ran in for the Pick-6. Best LB in the business, humble and hardworking. Love and Respect.
And just like that, another one of my childhood players I've known about has been taken from me. Although I'm not a Panthers fan, it sucks to see him go, but all respect for the man. He has truly accomplished a lot.
Luke was amazing and his stats are incredible...which makes you realize how great London Fletcher was to have put up the same type of numbers (or better) for 15 years straight without missing a game.
Luke Kuechly will always be one of my all time favorite LineBackers even when he would be destroying players on my favorite team. Much respect to the man, hope he lives a great rest of his life! He’s gonna go down in the history books, that’s for sure!
Seeing him get upset genuinely made me upset, as a Saints fan i know Luke is a humble guy. He was an amazing opponent to go against, and he was always near the ball.
I don't know how folks thumbs down your posts. Man, you're on fire. I found your channel about 6 months ago and you are consistently brilliant. You're a Bengals fan and I am a Browns fan, but you get nothing but love from me, slick. Respect
Bruh. Your video was suggested and I am 110% happy it was. Your explanation gave me insight that I didn’t know about Luke. AWESOME VIDEO MAN!!! This was the most thorough explanation I’ve ever seen. BTW. I went to the Panther Broncos game a few weeks ago. I took my brother that’s a huge Panther fan. Thank you sir.
Brah these segments are always on point, none bias and extremely informative. Your research game is 2nd to none my boy!!! I’m honestly shocked and appalled that you don’t have over a million subscribers already…….
The beginning of Luke’s story reminds me of how my nephew complains about his coach putting him as guard rather than mostly defensive end like he loves
My fifth grade teacher used to personally know him and when I lived in Charlotte, you couldn’t go anywhere in public without seeing someone run his jersey
I would love to see this guy come back as a coach somewhere. He had that mindset at a young age, he can do big things while still being involved in the game he loves.
Thanks for making this video. I loved everything that he did for the Panthers. However it was awesome to see him play versus the Texans this 2019 season. It was remarkable to see him play in person. Also McCaffrey, Watt, Watson, and more players on both teams.
Born and raised Panther fan here and all I have to say is Luuuuuuke is the greatest Panther there ever was and ever will be. He is not only the epitome of what every NFL player should try to be but he also set the standard for us as a society. You have to remain humble and disciplined if you want to succeed in anything and that man Luke Keuchly is a prime example of that testament. I’d love to see Luke get a Gold Jacket. That’s my favorite memory Flemlo!!!
Favorite Luke memory is probably being at BOA stadium watching my Bengals vs Panthers. Hearing the "LUUUUUUUUUKE" from the crowd in person is chilling, no matter who you root for.
@7:58 When your talking defense, and a sentence starts with "The only other guy in the history of the league to do that"....be ready for some LT knowledge.
1 of my Favorite and best Linebacker especially those Carolina Panthers 2015 with MVP Cam.. The Team was fun to watch from Offense to Defense... Love and Respect Lukee!!!!!
@@wellyesbutactuallyno3366 I dont ever remember him killing the Falcons in the past 4 years, in fact Julio made Luke his son. One of the best LBs to ever play though, dont get me wrong, but in recent memory I dont remember him destroying the Falcons nearly as much as the Bucs...
