More like Rob Zombie presents COPIES of Rob Zombie playing multiple Halloween roles (take a shot every time someone has long matty hair, long facial hair, or talks with a southern accent DESPITE IT BEING ILLINOIS.)
I had a few issues with Rob Zombie's Halloween remake, but it was pretty good. My problems with it were; 1) Too much cussing 2) don't like the explanation of why Michael is a killer. The things I liked were the orange mask he wore as he escaped the asylum and the time spent on his younger years in the asylum.
It was an action movie more then Horror. Zombie trued reinventing the wheel here and wasn’t close to being a great film . What made the originals great is you didn’t see to much of Myers and when you did it was at the right time ,stories are best revolving around the supporting cast , Myers was like an action hero in Robs movies .
Sure you could look at it from that perspective but stuff like this happens in real life all the time how many stories are out there about psychopaths having tragic upbringings? To me that's scary.
Rob Zombie. That was what happened. Liking Horror and being good at writing it are two different things. His movies looked and sounded like they were made by a middle schooler.
I really liked the first Rob Zombie film, but thought he took it way too far with the sequel. My favorite version of his first fil is the workprint that was leaked. I think it had the best of the theatrical and unrated versions in it, though I did prefer the prolonged chase with Laurie in the unrated version.
I absolutely hated the child actor that played Michael. I can’t get the scene out of my head where he’s in the school office, the main theme starts playing I believe for the first time, and it’s just him getting up and running very awkwardly down the school hallway. Unfortunately, that’s the first thing that pops in my head when I think of this movie.
It was watchable but I always say it's not scary that Michael becomes a product of his environment. A kid snapping because he got bullied at home and school and started killing animals that gradually turned into murdering people isn't as scary as a kid with a normal life snapping
I've been going through Zombie"s filmography over the last few weeks, and the weird thing is I distinctly remember the cinematography being better than it is. Upon recent rewatch, his movies look like absolute shit especially this one.
At least he tried and took a swing. For what it is. I love it. Fuck it. Why hate it when you can choose to watch or not watch. I will always love the empty pool scene. So tense.
I still want the original vision of Rob Zombie. Taking Shape, a must read for all Halloween fans, only gave small samples of the endless terror Zombie wanted to unleash and how shocked studio execs were. They even 🤮 over and over again. That original script would brought the series into the brutal and raw horror shores of the 70s where no rules were set and horror was free from mainstream.
IMHO thought the work print was the superior version, gave heart to the film & song usage was better, shame it never got released as a supplementary feature when released
His version of Michael Myers being a beast is exactly what Myers should of been originally. I grew up watching the big 4 (Kruger, Jason, Myers, and chucky) so I'm always down to see different takes on these horror icons. Well, except that child's play remake lol
It made no sense if Michael Myers is human and you can identify with him the you miss the whole point of the original movie, Michael was scary because he has no background like joker, besides the facts with his family Michael Myers is a walking demon the sister thing happened in Halloween 2 but to me the original had it best Laurie didn't know who Michael Myers was so it added to the psychopath effect and homicide maniac chase everyone around but again no one in the town thought Michael has a sister and to me changing the story for the sequel took away from the sequels later on.
First movie really wasn't bad. I liked it. The second movie wasn't bad neither. Just the white horse thing kind of weighed it down. But they were both decent.
I still feel goosebumps when he kills the only guy that actually treated him okay (Danny Trejos character). Just knowing this version of Michael was just a straight up evil bastard
This movie has alot of funny lines. My mom always says “Judith we’re gonna be laaatteeee” just for shits whenever we’re running late 🤣 til this day she does
@@iHaveTheDocuments Scraping for content. No new ideas, nor anything exciting in the world of movies, which also applies for this channel and pretty much all of RU-vid.
I once saw one of the work prints of part II (Zombie) sue me I like them, where Laurie kills both Loomis and Micheal I want to know which work print that was it seemed a better version
Tbh i really like his Halloween. It isn’t perfect but I did enjoy it a lot. Not so much the sequel 💀 house of 1000 corpses is in my top 5 of all time but rob has been making stinkers since the devils rejects tbh
It's so weird how I have to skip the 1st like hour of RZ Halloween (obviously gotta watch the Ronnie scenes) but then the last half is one of the scarier Halloweens
So, in terms of floating ideas for the Halloween franchise, you're saying that Preparations A through G failed, but the one everyone agreed on was Preparation H.
he did a remake, focused too much on Michael's backstory. followed it up with a sequel. Instead of DOING A SEQUEL OR SOMETHING ORIGINAL IN THE 1ST PLACE, we got... something BETTER than Blumhouse's trilogy. Halloween asylum, well Rob's adapted that essentially
The Rob Zombie apolgists in this comment section just proves that all you have to do is make a shittier Halloween in order to make a shitty Halloween "actually pretty good if you stop and think about it". Halloween 6 comes out. "Actually, Halloween 5 wasn't that bad." Halloween Resurrection comes out. "Actually, Curse is not THAT bad..." Halloween 2007 comes out. "Halloween Resurrection has a 'special' place in my heart..." Halloween II comes out. "The FIRST movie was actually better. This killed the franchise." Halloween 2018 comes out. "This is perfect." Halloween Kills comes out. "2018 was the GOAT yerrrr" Halloween Ends comes out. "Rob Zombie was better." NEXT HALLOWEEN. "Halloween Ends is actually a masterpiece but you guys just don't see it bec-
*Halloween 6 comes out* Fans: Halloween 5 wasn't bad! I mean, it's way better than this modern 90s MTV generation crap! Why is he part of a stupid cult now? Also, what's up with goddamn flashing strobe lights? *Halloween Resurrection comes out* Fans: Halloween 6 is underrated and actually quite good and doesn't deserve the hate it gets. Who the fuck is this Busta Rhymes? *Rob Zombie's Halloween II comes out* Fans: The first one was not that bad! This one is just godawful! WTF is up with these stupid white horses? What is this, The Never(Fucking)Ending Story? *Halloween Kills comes out* Fans: Just awful cringe! The 2018 requel was actually good and they should've just stopped there. The whole damn "Evil Dies Tonight" shit got so fucking old and they were trying too hard to remake Halloween II and failed. *Halloween Ends comes out* Fan: Wow, this fucking awful! Nobody gives a shit about this Cory character. We apologize for calling Kills "awful cringe". It's actually a great throwback to Halloween II! *Whenever Halloween is rebooted again* Fans: Wow, this is worse than that Rob Zombie crap from 25 years ago. We were way too harsh on Ends, years ago. I actually think Ends is a very underrated and misunderstood cult classic. WTF is this shit!? Micheal shouldn't be talking like a special needs kid!
My best friend used to say his take was that the original Halloween was the legend of Michael Myers, while Zombie’s version is more like what actually happened. It always made sense to me in that way.
That's actually a great way to look at it. I think Zombie's version of Micheal Myers is a little too much of a stereotypical psychopath, but looking at his Halloween as the truth behind the myth might even be what RZ was going for
I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. I felt let down by it. I swear, but this movie oh my God. The nonsensical arguing back and forth was obnoxious. I could never watch this movie all the way through I've tried a few times just for the hell of it and I just still can't. The choice of making Michael Myers this Giant hulk guy is just silly to me. How are you going to sneak and hide and stop people if you are the size of a light pole? It's just way out of character IMO.
The remake isn't unwatchable but he made 2 crucial errors imo. He humanized Michael, made him sympathetic, and gave him a reason for being this way, and his version of Loomis is a miscarriage. H2 is worse than a 2nd Trump presidency
@HoraceTheLion I agree not all of his films. But House people hated it, Devils Rejects people hated it as well as Lords of Salem but now people are looking at them completely different now. I will say 3 From Hell wasn't that great and 31 was an ok at best slasher for me.
Watched it twice, Halloween 2 once...can't get into them... Though I'm not gonna deny it has seemed to gain quite the cult status in the last decade. Just not my style when it comes to Halloween films...
This remake was pretty good. The majority of the cast were great, especially Malcolm McDowell. The opening scene of the Myers childhood home is still hard to watch.
Me too. I actually like the second one even more. In fact I think I've watched RZ Halloween 2 more times than any other film in the franchise. And the fact that it makes people mad, makes me like it even more.
I’m 22 so hw2018 was the first I got to see in theaters I like robz version it’s definitely not for everybody he’s not I also enjoy his house of 1000 corpses/devils rejects
I watched both Rob Zombie films and they were terrible in terms of story and overall entertainment. They looked cool but thats about the most I can say.
Some scenes are cool like the ending with Michael going nuts but man the acting is so cringe from the rest of the cast William forsythe is funny as hell though.
@@uhoh7541 I was the same way I just never understood the hate towards his version, I think a lot of it is because they didn’t like the origin story part and the gruesome killing I guess but I personally think it was awesome
Very unpopular opinion, Halloween 2007 Rob Zombie is the best in the entire franchise, I love the origin story for Michael Myers, and all the recreated scenes from the original.
I actually prefer rz h2 because of the grind house like gore and look. 1st one just felt like annoying take on the og. Some cool scenes but the family is disgusting and the over explanation is obnoxious.
Over time, the Zombie movies have lost favor, and I think it's justified. However, I think the Zombie movies are what the franchise needed at the time. It helped future installments find a proper balance in what works and what doesn't in a decent Halloween movie
The fact he thought in origin story for Michael Myers would be a good idea demonstrates that Rob Zombie is not the horror aficionado he is thought to be. All he did was make Michael Myers yet another trailer trash loser mad at the world instead of a soulless killing machine from a middle-class family that had no reason to turn evil
