He’s that important to the nfl and he helps us (well those who want to be in the nfl) to do the RIGHT things in each category Mentally Physically Emotionally Financially Verbally
I'll never forget watching Ryan Broyles get the news of the severity of his collegiate injury & see him break down in tears. Made me tear up, too, especially knowing what a special talent he was. I went to high school with him, a couple grades down, & my few personal interactions with him made me an even bigger fan of his. Glad to see him persevere & overcome such obstacles.
As a Lions fan I was excited when I saw his highlights and thought he would be great and was always believing in him through the injuries. Unfortunately he couldn't share those college injuries
Heard he used to be a bit of a knucklehead when he was younger. But Coach Stoops I’m sure helped wisen him up quickly lmao! He’s definitely nothing but a solid role model since his time at OU!
Bruhhhhh, Ryan really got the short end of it in the pros. Was really looking forward to seeing him after his games against the longhorns. Glad to see him doing well!
I highly recommend reading Rich Dad, Poor Dad. That book changed my family’s life for the better. WAY BETTER Also Richest Man in Babylon, Tax free wealth and the magic of thinking big
I remember feeling bad for him because he just couldn't stay healthy and wasn't the same player after all those major injuries but it's really nice to hear he's doing so well!!
Beginning of his career he said: Fuck you watch me do it End of career he said: Fuck you watch me not do it. Always liked him more than Flacco. He is the better version of him in just every way
@@masonpiatt-villasenor686 really? Na Flacco was perfect in that playoff run u cant put his 11 tds to 0 picks on his talented defense. I'm a Steelers fan btw
as a oklahoma fan i remember ryan broyles balling out breaking the ncaa record but he was injury prone after those knee injuries in college ... i remember his best stint in the nfl was the year ppl claimed the madden curse hit calvin johnson n he had the most yards but broyles had the most receiving tds on the lions... i wish i could've gotten to see broyles, mikel leshoure and jahvid best all at their best potential on the lions cause that team would've been a problem.
That’s actually a good point. There should be a personal finance class mandatory in high school. There is so much material to teach a young person. I wonder if some schools already have this? I’m a Gen Xer, I can guarantee you we never had anything like that back in my day.
@Hans Grubers Goatee most schools don't. I have a plan at least for the HS I graduated from. Been helping add something new since I was there. My newest idea? A legit finance class. Paying Bills, how to do taxes, HANDLING COLLEGE EXPENSES etc. Yk what my school had? An incoming summer program with us spending 4 weeks writing a damn check. Literally, 20 days!! Our college readiness project? Doing one GROUP project on random shit. Schools come far in 5 though. I plan to keep helping evolve it even if support comes from my own pockets over time.
This shouldn't be a requirement in school though. This should come from home, from your parents. Your/our parents are the ones responsible to sending us into the world with all the tools necessary to succeed but unfortunately they don't. It's the same with respect, teachers aren't supposed to be teaching respect, hygiene, or anything of the sorts, it all starts at home. Home is where all this is supposed to be taught, not school
He was offered a contract to play for Dallas fxl team but ultimately decided against it because he was grinding hear in Norman and okc. Not only is he super into real estate but he just opened up a bar in Norman last year.
Do a story on Michael Vick - the man who couldn't be tackled in the open field. I heard that he invested in hair products & made good money doing that. The reason I picked Vick is that he was a prime candidate for that death spiral you've described in so many of your bios.
Great vid man... I actually just started investing in the stockmarket I put in about 60 and now my buying power is at like 100 bucks... And I started May 2nd...im actually pretty proud of that 😂😂
I know you get a whole ton of these, but how about a “What happened to Domanick Williams”? He won the inaugural Pepsi Rookie Player of the Year Award with the Texans in ‘03 and then vanished after a year. I very fondly remember playing ESPN NFL 2K5 (one of the greatest sports games I’ve ever played) and noticing how there was this RB from the Texans was nearly impossible to tackle and then I never heard of the dude again. That was a while back though so it may or may not be difficult catch up with the man’s story, which I’m sure would a very good one.
Good to hear he has done well...As a Lions fan, he was one I was excited for when they drafted him...VERY happy to see him doing well! Shout out to Ryan.
He used to visit my mother in law at a restaurant in Belleville michigan called Mike’s kitchen. She used to wait on him and said how much of a humble man he was, she had no clue who he was but i about shit my pants when i heard she waited for him every time he came in. I loved him when he played for the Lions and I am glad to see he is doing well!
He was a starter from the day he signed in Tennessee and only hit the bench last season after breaking his arm against the Chiefs. He had a rough start but had a very good second half of the season before getting hurt. I'm a Titans fan so I know not many people actually watch our games. Hope that changes this year.
He's not a bench player. Had one of the highest grades as a cover corner last year before breaking his arm. 2nd half of 2018 he was elite and 2019 started the same.
@@jonathanspeing933 I'll admit, i didn't watch much to any of their games either, no offense, but I just feel like his story would be a good one to address because of his career arc. Edit: I apologize for the errors, I'm mostly living in the year he lead the league in touchdowns allowed 💀😂.
I'm so pumped up flem picked this. As an OU fan, his story has been inspiring to follow. Really humble guy and one that's easy to root for, it's a shame his injuries cut his NFL career
Rich Dad Poor Dad is a GREAT read. Offers a lot of perspective on financial awareness and comprehension. The effectiveness of offering two perspectives on everything makes you not just learn, but understand why ypur previous thoughts were possibly flawed.
Lol I remember using this dude in Madden. I ended up drafting him in a league. Kept him around too he was a stud in madden once you worked on him a bit
Thanks for this one Flem, as a lifelong Detroit Lions fan I always wondered what happened to Broyles. One of the biggest what ifs as a Lions fan is what if Calvin Johnson and a healthy Ryan Broyles seen the field together for 3-5 years? Glad to see he is doing alright 🙏 would love to see what happened to my boy Joey Harrington though!
Aye FlemLo! I met Ryan in Detroit a few years ago and the brother is as down to earth and humble as I’ve ever met a former pro athlete. He has the playbook on how to keep getting the bread even after retirement. It’ll be nice to see other athletes do the same thing that he’s doing. Loving the content!
Thanks for sharing Ryan’s story Flem. He is indeed a great example for people to follow. People focus on the negative when it comes to these players so it’s always welcome to see someone actually highlight the them doing well. I’m glad to see Ryan turn that injury and his finances around ✊🏿
as a die hard Lions fan, i was extremely happy when we drafted him. but then came those knee injuries. dude was a baller and the real deal when healthy. i can’t stress the word healthy enough. guy could catch any pass thrown his way but couldn’t catch a break. heal the knee, blow it out again. heal the knee, blow out his knee again. i’m writing this comment before watching the video so i apologize if my memory isn’t 100% accurate. i believe it was ACL tears that derailed his career. thankfully he was smart with his money and put himself in a good spot. great video as always Flemlo
Fantastic video, it's always nice when the "what happened to" is a positive. I've been wanting to learn more about the stock market and this video inspires me even more to buy some stocks and invest, but the entire market is messed up due to corona
What a great dude. He just wants to show that not all nfl players go broke and wants to help players become successful off the field. *On a side note i never heard of him until now. Props to him for being in spotlight for positive reason!
Damn cool af that people want videos on them personally asking and shit love ur vids always learning sumthing new from you wanna go pro just so this dude can do a video on me
This is an amazing story. The dude got dealt a bad hand because of the injury sustained during his Senior year, but he very definitely made the absolute best of it. I remember wanting my Steelers to pick him up in the draft. I'm glad he is doing well.
Ryan is the GOAT and a true hero for my son and I. Thanks for taking time on that sunny afternoon. He's a great dad with a passion to extend the winning legacy for he's family!
Man I listen to the Author of Rich dad Poor dad on RU-vid all the time. That dude drops knowledge his dad was an educator and his friend's dad was an Entrepreneur who made it big in real estate. I wish wealth and prosperity for everyone. Props on the video Flemlo and I'm glad to see Broyles doing well.
On the cool flemo. I always see a manscape sponsor by my favorite youtubers but i might just cop bc of you. And yea $100 most definitely couldve filled the tank😂😂
This is awesome. Grew up a Sooners fan and watched him, Bradford, and Peterson a lot as a kid. Never knew what happened to him after that injury. Really good to see he didn't let it get him down.
I was at the OU game when Broyles got hurt in college. His girlfriend at the time (I dont know if that's the girl he married) helped me get to my seat because I was on crutches at the time. I remember she was pretty distraught when he got injured. Anyway, whatever girl that was seemed to care about him a lot and she helped me to my seat so shout out to that girl. Major thanks to that woman if shes sees this.
"Your Balls will thank you" ranks right up there with "Next thing you know you have a colony of crabs" lmaoo...Great Work FlemLo Raps...The content is excellent!!
Man I loved watching him during my first two years at OU. I had such high hopes for him but those injuries were too much. He would have been great in the league!
Ive only just found out about this cat from NCAA Football 12, which never initially released here in Australia, (region locked on Xbox 360). Yea read about the larceny/attempted theft of gasoline charge and thought it was funny, but hearing the backstory and context, it now makes sense. I got nothing but respect for his hustle at such a young age.
I’m a long time Sooner fan. I know all about Broyles, the issue that happened that caused him to redshirt, then all through the glory as an upperclassman, and then the struggles in Detroit. I thought he might play in the XFL, but he decided to call it off. I knew when he was talking about how he handled his money in his rookie year, I knew he’d be incredibly successful after football. I hope every player follows his example.
Flemlo, it's crazy how small the world is. I've been watching your videos for a couple of years now. Trolling video after video while working night shift and this one caught my eye today. I did initial security consultation for Ray The Porch in Norman and provided them security teams for quite a while. Figured it was finally time to make a post with this video hitting so close to home.
Great job. I know you will not read this but it is refreshing to see a young man on television that is professional and positive. Thank you sir and keep up the great work
What a great story. The man has a plan and is dominating. Hopefully the NFL brings him back as a speaker at the rookie symposium to teach these young bucks how to make their money work for them.
man sometimes i take it as a blessing that i didnt make it big because i would have never learned to survive being broke or never would have discovered that fire burning inside to keep pushing
I remember watching him play and he was a star. He just found ways to get open. I was watching the game when he got hurt, I could feel his pain. Still a great player and awesome to hear his story only got better.
GREAT JOB!! AN INTELLIGENT, HARD WORKING, HUSTLER ON & OFF THE FIELD. I'm looking forward to MORE POSITIVE SUCCESS STORIES. We need to see a BALANCE of these Uplifting Real Truths. Thank You.
Man, I live in Europe and barely watch American football except for the Superbowl. I have to say I have gained way more interest in the sport after coming across your channel. I can tell this your channel is about way more than sports but about life as well.
I told my brother "I've gotten into sports history because I came across a channel with a really good storyteller. So here I am listening to the guy talking about college football players I've never heard of from from years ago"
Dopest vid in my opinion, bro. I am so glad to see a brotha out there taking care of his bread and creating generational wealth as his legacy. Flemlo keep up the great storytelling bro! Your work is liberating.
As an old white guy who did not take care of his wealth, I got to appreciate your message. I hope more than football fans watch this and learn the hard lesson without going through my pain.
So crazy cool that he got in contact to give you some insight into his thought processes/decisions. Awesome vid and and even more awesome story! Keep up the great work man.
