The 10 Northern Tribes are not Jews. The first time the Bible uses the term Jews is when the Southern Kingdom of Judah, the Jews, is at war with the Northern Kingdom of Israel.
Judah (Jews) is the constellation Leo which is depicted as the Head of Israel in Isaiah 9.14-15. The tail of Israel is depicted as the lying scorpion (Scorpio). The term Jew never meant just the tribe of Judah even though it was short for Judah. The tribe of Benjamin was part of Judah originally. Yes we are! I think the term “lost” refers to their tribes becoming no longer the name of their kingdom. For example, all those who descended from Judah lived in that kingdom. All those who descended from Joseph, in the Kingdom of Ephraim. And so on with the rest. When the Assyrians came, they wiped out those governments, and perhaps people died, fled, or were taken as slaves. When they came back to Judah, they could have been from Naphtali or Gad, etc. but assimilated into the kingdom of Judah. The house of Israel was what they called it when they all had their land inheritances divided out. When only Judah and Benjamin’s land survived, the remnants may have assimilated there or in Europe, England, North America, and all over the world.
This is a shallow explanation, the Ten Tribes were really scattered as prophesied but God will called them out from all four corners of the world to worship him at end times. The refugees who went to Judea when Assyrians conquered the Northern Kingdom does not mean that the Ten Tribes were reunited with Judea, no, the entire population were driven out of the land and take to Nineveh and were scattered throughout the empire. Only God knows who His people are and He will gather them back as He promised at His own time so that His people will know He is their God. For us gentiles it is through our belief that Jesus died and He rose again and He is the Son of God, we are grafted into Abraham's family and will be called children of God. It was because of the Jewish stubbornness of not accepting their Messiah that the Gospel was preached to our forefathers and now we are beneficiaries of God's Covenant to Abraham. Otherwise we will be left out of God's plan of Salvation because that alone was meant for His chosen people, the Twelve Tribes of Israel and nobody else. There may have been small remnants that went and joined Judah but as a whole they never reunited. Ezra and Nehemiah are clear that it was the sons of Judah, Benjamin and Levi (I.e. the “house of Judah”) that returned from Babylon to build the temple and wall of Jerusalem. The prophecies are pretty clear in numerous places, especially Hosea, that the house of Israel was scattered among the nations and mixed with the nations, and made not God’s people, effectively becoming one with the nations or “Gentiles”. They were divorced by God (Jeremiah 3). This is why Paul in Romans 9 quotes Hosea when referring to the Gentile believers because it’s the fulfillment of Ezekiel 37 when the two sticks will reunite. Ephraim, the lead tribe, in Genesis was prophesied to become the “melo hagoyim” or “fullness of the nations.” Most modern translations say something like “multitude of nations” but it’s really the phrase Paul quotes in Romans 11, “fullness of the Gentiles.” The remnants of Ephraim are being called out from among all the nations from the four corners of the earth to which they were scattered. And they’re bringing a mixed multitude with them.

One big problem … You’re forgetting about the massive archaeological find in Nineveh Syria back in the mid-1800s where they discovered thousands of Assyrian cuneiform tablets. Israelite was a demonym in the biblical times to refer to all the collective descendants of Jacob(Israel). Jew is simply another more modern demonym to refer to those of the tribe of Judah (Judea), technically still an Israelite..
