I have wanted to discuss what happened to the other provinces during the oblivion crisis for quite a while now and I think I have done as much research as I could in discovering what did happen to each province during the oblivion crisis #maiqtheliar
I try to bring decent lore content that all my viewers can enjoy!If you ever have a suggestion do feel free to leave it, I will jot it down on my list and get around to it eventually I always do!
Every single Image and piece of art I use belongs to their respectful owners, I would never claim them as my own, bar it is my own, but they are not :) if you do a simple search for the image I am using, I am sure you will find it on google images :)
I hope I please all who come across my channel. I am grateful for every single view. like and subscriber I have and get for the future(if your reading this in the future).Thank you everyone!I love you like I love my lemonade!
If your feeling generous and want to support the channel and I genuinely mean it, donations go to giveaways and other crap, the feel free to send it to my paypal through this link. Anybody who does will always get extra votes in a future giveaway(Not sure when they will start) but I will put you in twice. Either or your amazing for it and you have helped push this channel further and you have my sincerest thank you!

For anyone interested this is a little more in depth of what happened to Black Marsh. The argonians worship a race of ancient sentient trees known as the hist. Some time before any oblivion gates where opened, the hist trees telepathically let all the argonians across every province of Tamriel know that they had to return to Black Marsh and defend their homelands. There was a great migration as argonians answered the call to come home and prepare the defense. Waiting in the swamps they consumed the sap of the hist trees, the hist sap tremendously enhances nearly all physical attributes of argonians. When Dagon opened his oblivion gates in Black Marsh the argonians were more than ready. They destroyed the first waves and rushed the oblivion gates, surprising the dedra forces now in their realm with such great numbers and ferocity, that Dagon closed his gates, and was basically forced out of Black Marsh.

and as a little added fun fact: According to the Hist, they were created by Sithis prior to the creation of Nirn by Lorkhan and the Aedra. The Hist hive-minded tree thus still worship Sithis, and since the Hists created the Argonian race, the Argonians of Black Marsh also have a cult for Sithis. Heck, all Argonians born under the sign of the Shadow are raised in the Black Brotherhood, or at least they were prior to the Skyrim game(since the Black Brotherhood lost much of its influence). Those Argonians were known as Shadowscales, and the ones who survive and who are in Black Marsh are also acting as assassins and spies for Argonia(the Argonian country in Black Marsh). As such, now with so little contact with the Black Brotherhood, the ones born under the sign of the Shadow are likely just trained by the remaining Shadowscales who work for the Argonian government, and they likely just contribute to that work too once they are trained.

The Thalmor came into power because they saved the Altmeri refugees from the Crystal Tower right after it collapse and then made a campaign to fight off the daedra and close the gates. They actually saved Summerset from worse destruction. With the instability after words they started taking control of everything and even killed the current Monarchy so they could rule. Don't hate the high elves hate the Thalmor. Many high elves hate them because they kill their own people. I think 40 years after the crisis a bunch of high elf dissidents fled to Northern Hammerfell and were assassinated by Thalmor bounty hunters
@stevengreen9536

@jahmerry h Yes the Thalmor are extremists.Even going as far as to commit the occasional purge of any bosmer clan or faction that does not subscribe to their policies of elven unification or supremacy.But you must remember not all high elves think the way they do.Chancellor Ocato who was part of the imperial government during the Oblivion Crisis.Did not agree with what the Thalmor were doing back in his homeland.He ended up getting exiled back to Cyrodiil.Along with other high elves seeking amnesty within the empire.
@willowhicks8952

Steven Green for all way know 60% of the Altmer could hate their government just like America and her president, but the High Elves live in fear of interrogation, torture and even death if they speak out.

alex fxll I feel they definitely try to put the story in, but don't bother going in depth or explaining in any way other than superficially. Or it just seems like they have a complete blank spot in their memory to major plots in previous games that would have massive ramifications that if it were a real scenario, would be talked of for centuries. Slaying of an Ayleid? Eh, the oblivion crisis that threatened to end the world as it was known? Oblivion crisis? Irene Parkin I read somewhere that Valenwood thought of unleashing the Wild Hunt and turning every Bosmer within the province into bloodthirsty shape shifting monsters to kill the Daedra. If you have the dawnguard dlc, there’s a tattered mythic dawn banner in Lord Horkan? I can’t remember his name. But the banner is hanging in the castle, implying a, this vampire clan has been around for centuries, and b, that the oblivion crisis bled into Skyrim at least slightly. This isn’t definitive, just something worth noting.

@wintertrooper7918 5 лет назад
Chelsie yeah that mythic dawn banner is a real head scratcher eh? But considering molag bal and Mehrunes Dagon are about as chummy as the empire and the stormcloaks it’s safe to assume that banner is likely one of Harmon’s spoils of war

For some reason I often think the Oblivion Crisis took place in Cyrodiil alone. Then I remember Mehrunes Dagon tried to take over ALL of Tamriel. It would only stand to reason that other provinces would be affected in some way or another. In that case, though, there ARE mods you can add that will put Oblivion gates in Skyrim, so there's that if you want your game to be more lore-friendly (there strangely seem to be none in the vanilla game, but with structures like Oblivion gates, whether shut or not, you'd think you could still find remnants of them 200 years or however long later).

@stevengreen9536
@stevengreen9536 6 лет назад
@The Mad Hattress You would think their would be Oblivion Gates still around two hundred years later.However i think their are at least two factors to consider.First within the empire i believe religious authorities would have gotten the government to tear most if not all of them down.As a " just in case " measure and to make sure they do not become gathering places for daedric worship.( especially for followers of Dagon ) If the empire missed any the Vigilants of Stendaar would have surely been keeping an eye out for any in their travels.Then wasted no time in tearing them down themselves once they got enough men and the necessary tools at the site.The rest may have suffered erosion due to various climate conditions and the weather.Then collapsed on their own.I am sure the other provinces may have torn down their's as well for the same reasons.But it is possible their might be some left in Tamriel and possibly even Akavir as well.

Also they for the most part always have a strong military

The Maormer don't have the Hist backing them. The Hist are the only reason the Argonians turned back the invasion: the Hist knew that it was coming, altered Argonians to make them more powerful and more aggressive, and had these beefed up Argonians mass in the locations where the Hist knew the Oblivion Gates would appear. They made the Argonians ready for the invasion.

These are interesting questions so I'll answer them from my view! 1. I didn't kill cicero because he was just trying to help. The night mother to him is like his actual mother, and hearing everyone in the brotherhood pretty much say "She shouldn't be here" made cicero angry. I think he was reasonably correct in what he did, especially considering the times that he is in (Where people could kill for a sweetroll) 2. Because he is meant to end the kalpa. Not much you can do, so you may as well enjoy what you've got. 3. Hahaha no. 4. Can't remember lel 5. There was a theory about the emperor hiring the brotherhood himself, you should check it out! 6. From my least favourite to most favourite: Morrowind is a 1/10 for me. Oblivion is a 7/10 and skyrim is a 9/10 (I enjoy good graphics and open world) 7. I'd love to know that myself. 8. Personally, the college of winterhold. I enjoy the magical aspect of the elder scrolls series. I loved the design and lore of winterhold, because it really is mysterious! I'll expand on why I didn't choose the others: Companions: They were my 2nd favourite but I love magic too much haha Thieves Guild: This is my 3rd favourite because I loved the abilities you get from this, and it's also fine to use my magic (Illusion) Dark brotherhood: They had like one amazing quest (My fave quest in the game too) but not much else. Idk, this dark brotherhood didn't have the charm of the oblivion one. ---- DLC ----- Dawnguard: It was amazing and mystical but I hated the characters. Lord Harkons court: My least favourite, I don't like vampires. 9. Uhhhhhh 10. That's called Lordbound, and I'm super hyped for it.

If you go to the Arcane University in the Imperial City, you can sometimes here the scholars discussing what is happening everywhere else. I can't remember exactly, but I'm pretty sure one of them said something about House Redoran being in ruin, and some province being under siege by the Nords, who seem to have taken advantage of the Dunmers weakened state. Also, in the Sommerset Isles, they say it had become a very dangerous place, with an ever increasing prevalence of Daedra worship.

On the Summerset end, we also know Crystal-Like Law (AKA the Crystal Tower) was taken and toppled by the Daedra. Honestly, knowing what little we know about the other provinces, it feels like Oblivion *seriously* downplays the effects of the Oblivion Crisis on Cyrodiil, probably for gameplay/engine purposes. If there were literal piles of dead in the Summerset Isles, can you even begin to imagine what Kvatch would have realistically looked like during and after the siege? It must have turned into a slaughterhouse. And how many people were killed during the siege on the Imperial City which ended with Martin dead, considering we know that lore-wise the Imperial City's population is MASSIVE? Not to mention how it left the Empire in shambles. The Oblivion Crisis might as well have been the most catastrophic event in the history of Tamriel. The Mythic Dawn probably single-handedly caused more destruction than everyone and everything else in history, even the Dragons and the Red Year.

In Skyrim, the Dawnstar Museum is run by a man who is part of the Church of the Mythic Dawn - they helped Mehrunes Dagon and are basically the Church of Scientologists - who sends you on a quest to retrieve parts of an ancient sword called the Mythic Razor, which has enough power to suck the lifeforce out of any mortal (if it was activated). You then go on a quest with him to give the sword to Dagon at a shrine. Afterwards Dagon will command you to kill him - there are two choices. 1st: kill museum manager and gain the influence and affection of Dagon or; 2nd: don’t kill him, Dagon will then proceed to summon two Deadra to kill you. There is no way to obtain the Mythic Razor as you must retrieve the parts and the sword cannot be built. You must give the parts to the manager who then keeps it to give to Dagon.

Mankar Camoran is supposed to be a wood elf, but I imagine the devs thought they looked just too unthreatening to be the main anthagonist. There's a theory that he undid his bosmer changes with Mehunes razor and became an Aldmer (as opposed to altmer).

It was never explicitly said how events unfold, but many books casually mention Skyrim holds were in ruins which probably means Nords fared very poorly during the Daedra invasion. The fact Windhelm and Blacklight were waging war probably didn't help. As for Morrowind, Irodil and Dres were ineffective since fall of Tribinal (Irodil) and abolitionists (Dres) weaken those houses. Talvani individually tried their best to stop it, but since they weren't a united force, they were mostly ineffective except on local scale. One Talvani wizard tried to recover Mehrumes Razor, but we fucked him up. Redoran was the one who took the charge and organized Dunmer into the effective fighting force. We don't know how good they were, but since Mournhold and Blacklight stood ground, it is safe to say they were decent.

I can't agree with you about the Argonians. Yes, they defeated the daedra(with lots of help from the Hist trees), but they couldn't easily over run the Dunmer of Morrowind after they took massive casualties from the Oblivion crisis and the entire island of Vvardenfell becoming a wasteland after the Red Mountain Eruption. For a race that had to rely on their sacred Hist trees to empower them to defeat the Daedra, the Argonians, without Hist magic, could not defeat the already dysfunctional Dunmer of Morrowind that barely had a leg to stand on.
