Love the design of the Astons! Just gorgeous classy cars!🥰😍🤩 Just like all aging luxury cars they will cost a fortune in upkeep if you dont have any DIY skills...
I bought the car in NC and drove it back to TX. Was getting it towed to the dealer to get a key made. Was damaged by the tow company in transport. I had almost $5k in work right before the accident
Love your videos Magic Mike. One thing, could you somehow turn up the volume some? I have a hard time hearing you even with my speakers on max volume. Cool to see Daniel helping you.
The reason you will be getting the tyre warning light on is because they're the wrong wheels fitted. They're from the earlier 4.3 and use a different tyre sensor system. The early cars used a Smartire system, the later cars then used a different system and the sensors aren't compatible (unless they've swapped them out in the wheels themselves), but I'd imagine they're still the older sensors. To replace the clutch on a SportShift, you will need the AMDS system to reset the clutch values and would recommend getting rid of that nasty single plate clutch in favour of a twin plate clutch from VelocityAP (prices are no more costly but transform the way the car drives). Whilst the transmission is down for clutch replacement, replace the return hoses - a common failure point; they crack and you'll lose all the fluid and not be able to shift. The Graziano gearboxes are pretty robust, I can't imagine it's that itself. I'd imagine if anything is faulty with it, it would be the TCM. The clutch error could be that it hasn't been through its clutch-learn (something you do from a cold-start) which you can do with no tools, simply start the engine from cold and keep your foot depressed on the brake peddle until you hear a 'click' come from the rear of the car. Once you hear that, the current kiss-point has been re-learned.
An '08 or '09 4.7 Vantage would still be equipped with the older Smartire TPMS system. The newer style Beru TPMS system came sometime in 2010. I was able to fit generic sensors to my '09 car by cloning the original Smartire sensors. And yes, early 4.7 cars usually came as standard with the either the 20 spoke wheels or the 10 spoke sport pack ones. The 7 spoke wheels from the 4.3 cars were also available as an accessory for early 4.7 cars. A popular choice for those who needed a second set for the winter.
You and Daniel San should merge your talents, alongside Grimes. Car wizard lives an extravagant lifestyle, collection of supercars, boats, cruises, which suggests he isnt paying that well 😅😅😅😅 either that or he's making a mint from RU-vid.
Mike, enjoy your videos.. When you have an exotic like the Aston Martin Vantage, you should BEGIN by telling us how old is. Which year was it made in? That is an important detail you should put into your title and introduction Imo. Especially in Auto Repair videos . Thanks and best wishes . PS I see much later, in your video, you say it is a 2009 model... putting that in your title would have been nice
Nice to here your music choice has improved ! You touched on installing heat. Are you going to do one of those DIY mini splits ? Diesel Creek just did one on a video , seems relatively inexpensive and they seem to really work well. And of course you'll have air conditioning for the summer in the large oven you work in ! Good luck !😊
This is my car. Unfortunately I couldn’t really touch it while the lawsuit was going on. This accident happened over 2 year ago, and we finally settled the case.
I tell you man, you've got excellent video presence.....IMO way better than the wizard. To me, he's really knowledgeable but man, his constant trying to be witty is just painful to watch.
It got damaged getting unloaded. The tow truck driver let the car get away from him. It ended up about 40 feet into a field. This happened over two years ago
Great video Mike ! I've been daily driving one of those for the last three years. They are great cars. However, that particular one is no longer great, neither can it be described as a car. It's simply a wreck. The things we see are certainly only the top of the iceberg. I reckon that the owner would save a ton of money by selling it for parts and starting over with a good used one.
I probably should. It’s Only 1 of 3 in the US made in that color combo / options for that year. The accident happened over two years ago. I’ll have about $25k into repair and refinish
@@Dan-jn1gm Nothing wrong with dumping money into the car if you have some kind of emotional attachment to it, as long as you know what you are getting into. I was thinking more like 35k. But that will all depend how resourceful Magic Mike will be in procuring the parts and what level of bodywork finish you are expecting. The glass key alone can set you back between 1k and 2.5k, depending where you get it from. In any case, I'm looking forward to following this project on this channel and seeing a beautiful Aston back on the road.
Aston Martin gets such a bad rap from all these sh#tbox neglected vehicles out there... A Ferrari is this condition is still something to lust after. An AS like this one...not so much.
