Space wolves are significantly smaller than the Black Templar As of 8th Edition, the Wolves are CONFIRMED to only have 1500 Battle Brothers with no succesors They did not increase in size due to the Primaris reinforcements and instead created Primaris succesors. Wheras the BT are at a minimum of 5k Astartes, true numners unkown due to only Helbrecht knowing thr truth of thr qauntity of crusader fleets

I never really took them that seriously to begin with, on account of the whole “emperor’s executioners” thing, and yet other than the rumor of the 2nd or 11th Primarch MAYBE having been killed by Leman Russ, he failed to get the job done in each of the 3 Primarch fights he’s had. Magnus got away, he wavered when he could have easily just had Angron shot to death, and then, of course, his fight with Horus during the heresy. That taught me that the Space Wolves talk a lot of shit but can’t really back it up all that much. That and the whole “our psykers don’t draw power from the warp, it comes from the spirit of Fenris,” bullshit. I’m no fan of the thousand sons, or psykers in general, as I am an Iron Hands fan. But the wolves breaking the edict of Nikea even as they slaughtered everyone on Prospero for doing the same, and not facing any pushback from the Imperium? Nah. The wolves got some serious Mary-Sue energy. Except Bjorn. Bjorn’s cool as fuck.

That sounds about right. While the Imperial Guard and Commissars obey the Inquisition no matter what, even they're smart enough to know messing with a Primarch is a bad idea since opposing the loyalist Primarchs is like opposing the God Emperor.

@@nikik5567 1st founding have too much of a religious/martial significance and the other power in the imperium wouldn't stand idly by if the inquisition tries to mess with the 1st founding. Plus the inquisition is far from united, if one inquisitor tries to mess with the 1st founding many other rival inquisitor would be happy to take advantage by siding with the said chapter and gain a favour from a 1st founding chapter

Are you kidding? The Emperor (nor indeed the entire Imperium) is NOT good. The whole thing is meant to be a mega-fascist hell-scape of nightmarish bureaucracy and savagery. The Inquisition are more pragmatic than the Space Marines. While another Astartes chapter might take their word for it that Chaos had been cleansed from a world, the Inquisition had to deal with the harsh reality that it is highly likely that some small speck of Chaos insurgency remained. Better a world lost to Exterminatus than a sector lost to Chaos.
