It’s honestly kinda Tragic. The boy who wanted to make a better world ended up losing himself in the process, making his goal tainted. I don’t like how everyone is assuming that Miquella has only ever manipulated people. I don’t think that’s the case, I think Malenia truly is in his service, as he wants to save her, I think that the creatures in the Haligtree do want him to succeed, because they believe in his goal, but no one knows exactly what he’s doing to achieve that

So despite wanted to remove himself from the golden order entirely he's probably the demigod who was the most similar to Marika anyway

Technically speaking we followed marika's footsteps. Marika dethroned the previous whatever god there was and put herself as ruler and now we, carrying her legacy, came to the land of shadow and did it to miquella who had ascended as a god. ​@@Himark89

On top of that, Miquella not only manipulates but has literally mind controlling (or better said, emotion controlling) abilities, like we see here, he doesn´t even need to fight, he can just make you his servant by talking.

I agree but I have a different view: Miquella is what TV Tropes calls a “Well-Intentioned Extremist”. He genuinely believes what he’s doing is for the greater good, that the ends justify the means. I don’t think Miquella is as selfish as his mother, but it is incredibly ironic how the demigod trying to make a better world free from the Golden Order’s prejudices uses the exact same methods as Marika.

@@chriscortez2036 i agree, but it seems to me is that Miquella can't really understand the true concept of kindness and love, he wears the mask of compassion because he believes he will subjugate the world through worship, it reminds me the Griffith's logic(from Berserk). Miquella's childlike representation is not a coincidence. Miquella is just a deluded person who followed in the same footsteps as his mother, Marika probably established the Golden Order with the best intentions. So it seems to me that Miquella will really be the closest to Marika, but as we know the hunger for power can corrupt any well-intentioned mind. I'm curious to see the relation between Tarnished and Godwyn, it's just speculation, but it's something that could make sense in the lore.

Not too sure. We don't know if his magic works on the demi-gods, and Mohg knew what he was going against anyways. The thing is, he also workships another goddess that basically feeds off of blood and uses blood magic, so I doubt Miquella would ever side with him. So the answer would be no.

Funfact: The “Radahn” you fight in the dlc is just Mohg’s body made to look like Radahn so Miquella can use him.

There have been Datamined Voicelines from Miquella where he seems to usher in his Age Of Compassion, giving the same voices lines as Ranni did. “I swear to every living being and every living soul..” and the last few seconds of The Trailer were confirmed by Miyazaki to be a seperate cutscene from any that we’ve seen so far. So people are Suspecting that if you get your Heart Stolen and then go end The Base Game, it’ll unlock a secret 7th / 3rd dlc ending.

@@ronuspawnus I used the item after he grabbed me, no dialogue change as far as I can tell. The crown you get after being embraced may act as a countdown that you have to deactivate with the rune (that you use like Mogh's shackles if you will). Hope that helped !

@@CreativeUsernameEh Oh please, don't act as if people dying is suddenly something that's a big deal, especially involving something as shady as the Greater Will and the Golden Order (and ESPECIALLY Marika). Her main target was Godwyn to get rid of her body with the rune of death without destroying her soul. Everything else that happened was on the other demigods and other big players of the war. Miquella meanwhile straight up uses his power to charm his followers to do what he wishes, even if his intentions are ultimately benevolent like Ranni's. Don't be a baby about it now. EDIT: Also worth noting that Ranni has very few followers to begin with. Makes her desire to walk down her path alone more legit than looking like she's about to start another religion or cult like some of the other demigods.

At least Ranni is upfront about her conniving and scheming nature and didn't hide it under a veneer of compassion like Miquella does. And hell, if you want to get technical, the Shattering and the war that followed were all Marika's and the other Demigods' doing.

Ranni gave her own brother a fate worse than death and caused the Shattering for her own benefit. While Miquella manipulates people, we have ample evidence that he does have compassion for the people suffering as seen from the albinaurics and Malenia herself who wouldn't have survived for as long as she did if it wasn't for Miquella's unalloyed gold. Also why are we pretending like Mogh is a good guy all of the sudden? He was still a monster that kidnapped people and turned them into bloody fingers for the Formless mother, Miquella's obsession aside.

There was no need to kick out Godfrey and have Radagon leave Rennala for her, yet she did it anyway. It's almost as if she wanted to shatter the Elden Ring and wanted an excuse to do it. Don't put the entire blame on Ranni for how screwed in the head the Golden Order and Marika were. It also makes sense to go after Godwyn since, for all Ranni cares, he's going to be the first in line to go against whoever wants to fight the Golden Order. I also doupt that they have any emotional ties or bond to each other considering being different families (although connected by blood). Not to mention that Ranni is very much capable of forming bonds and relationships too as seen with Blaidd and Iji and her last mention of them to you were to tell them that she loves them before killing her 2 fingers. With the context of the DLC (and other base game evidence that foreshadows Miquella to be the most terrifying Empyrean because of how he charms people), it's VERY questionable if a lot of the things Miquella did were entirely of his good will. Sure, he stalled Malenia's rot, but we can't exactly be sure if this was entirely for her sake or if he wanted to use her to weaken Radahn ahead of time. And I...never mentioned Mogh? How is he suddenly brought up in all of this? I never mentioned Mogh to be a good guy anywhere, he's still.... questionable and evil. But considering what happens to his body, it's easy to suggest Mogh was a part of Miquella's plan to, so as much of a vile person Mogh became, he's still a victim of Miquella all the same. (And let's not forget Radahn.... who's soul was stuffed into Mogh's body)

He originally *was* very sweet, but if you go in Saint Trina's cave you can find he left behind *every* part of himself to become an all powerful god. This includes his heart, and therefore his ability to truly feel compassion. Miquella *does* have absolutely good intentions, he just is willing to do *anything* to accomplish that.

The base game already gave strong hints that Miquella is a manipulative asshole. A well-intentioned manipulative asshole, but still. There's this item called the Bewitching Branch that you can use to mind-control enemies and make them fight for you; the description suggests that the technique was developed by Miquella who has "learned very well how to compel such affection". Compelling people to love you is a scary thing for a demigod to do.

Yeah and he got pissed when he couldn't, Originally Radahn refused to be Miquella's consort which is why Malenia was sent to kill him, Radahn was probably able to fight off the charm at the time When Miquella used Mohgs body to revive Radahn by shoving his soul into, mohg the charm could've already been implanted since he it was already on Mohgs body, or its possible the reason Miquella brought back a younger Radahn who had conquered the stars was because he'd been too strong and could've snapped out of it
