Burglars aren't necessarily smart but some might actually remember to take the video recorder.
Video security systems record video to hard drives in the video recorder. If a burglar steals the video recorder, they steel the video and the evidence. Out backup plan stops them from getting away with it and does not include a monthly fee!

I have a DVR lockbox that requires a key to get access to the DVR.

So each camera are still remotely accessible even when your main hard drive (the brains) is gone? Does that mean that each camera have their own wifi connection or something?

Normally the camera is connected to the NVR with a cat5 or cat6 cable. You just take the cable and connect it to your router. This would give direct access to the cameras onboard video. Thanks

Does the SD card overwrite the oldest recordings once full or do you have to pull it and delete manually?

Okay.. so you could hook up to router then have assess by using backstreet app? Also last resort could you take card out and download directly to laptop with an SD reader?
