My grandmother lived to 105 and my mom is 89 and never took anything. I work out 5 days a week and I am in good shape . I am 62 and never had any symptoms other than dryness and no sex drive. Never had hot flashes. I have been taking HRT since November because I wanted to see if it makes a difference- it does! Married to my best friend for 40 yrs and sex is like when we were first married . It does make a difference ! I feel great. 😊

How much of estrogen and progesteron are you taking? Do you take testosteron too? I also do not have classy menauposal symptoms, like flashes or dryness ( 1 year into it) but no sex drive is " killing " me! It dissapered like a switch overnight and does not come back no matter what I do!

@@user-xs9835 in the I rub estrogen on thin part of my inner arms or inner thigh in the morning. At night I take 1 progesterone capsule. I have testosterone pellets also. I go to doc every 3 months for the pellets and my blood work is done twice a year. I just started this in November and happy I did. I am a little nervous sometimes when I hear the negative talk, sometimes I am just not sure what is the right thing to do. But I have to say it saved my sex life, I felt so bad rejecting my sweet husband of 40 years all the time. I almost never say no now!😳😂 I just try and listen to my body.

@@addiesmith150 We just celebrated our 32 years of marriage and this drastic change in desire is devastating for me! And like you said, I never made up any excuses for not having sex but now became habitual lier of not" feeling well." My husband is 6 years older than me but he seems fine with his hormones! Its only us, women, who always suffer! I am currently on estrogen patch and progesteron pills.Just started recently, so far my sex drive is not even close to where it was until last year, will have follow up appointment in 2 weeks and ask my doctor about adding some testosteron. Not sure if its approved here in Canada, my insurance might not even cover it...

@@user-xs9835 insurance does not cover any of this for me. I love in Atlanta georgia. I really do not know how long I can afford to do this. Hopefully a long time! She also has me take some supplements too, so it all adds up. When I have to do the blood work and urin tests it is really a lot of money. Fast forward I’m now 66 and had my thyroid ablated so now take Synthroid, gallbladder has been removed, Osteopenia,pre diabetic, dry skin,thinning hair,brittle nails and digestive issues and forgetfulness. None of my doctors over the years have mentioned that HRT is being prescribed again! I feel like I’ve been hung out to dry and I’m not happy about it! Now I’m wondering if it’s to late for me to start. I constantly struggle with my weight and feel like I’ve been hung out to dry. My current and previous doctor refused to talk with me about my menopausal symptoms. Both suggested anti-depressants when I presented with health concerns - hey, I think something's going on here, though I had no idea what (!). I left the last doc for suggesting anti-depressants without my prompting and ran into the same problem with the current doctor. So I found a primary care physician that will treat and prescribe hormone replacement, though I've not signed on as a patient - yet. First, a consultation w/Dr. Taylor.

@MenopauseTaylor 6 лет назад
I really do think the seminar DVD is for you, Cindy. You'll get the whole education. You're starting to see how critical it is to connect the dots. All you hear in society is should bites, most of which scare you away fro doing the very things that might be best for you. I never "recommend" that you do this or that. I don't have to. All I do is give you the facts and teach you how to apply them to yourself, That way, each woman will decide for herself what's best for her. There are definitely women who say, "You'll have to pry my estrogen out of my cold, dead hands!" There are others who view it as a curse. It's shocking how one hormone can evoke so many varied emotions!

Why don't we talk about what estrogen AKA hormone replacement does to the body and then weigh the pros and cons.

You can register on my website MenopauseTaylor.ME. I give the seminar eery 6 months. It's quite a production and it's hard on my arthritis. Alternatively, you can buy a DVD of the entire seminar from my website. I'm telling you this because my goal is to provide an education for every woman, regardless of (1) Her learning style, (2) Her timeline, and (3) Her budget. These videos are great for women who have the time to learn at their leisure. But if you need the information NOW, there's no way I can produce these videos fast enough. But the seminar and the DVD of the seminar give you the ENTIRE education all at once. I still get quite conflicted because I don’t take medications so the thought of medicine for something that appears natural is so hard for me to get a round , however as I start to have these peri menopause symptoms the more I feel like I don’t want to live this life looking old nor want my body to get tired .

I love your visuals! Thank you again for another educational video. I have hypothyroidism and yes, the warning light or lights do come on with this autoimmune disorder (aka I have diagnosed Hashimoto’s). It is terribly rough to have both ie, hypothyroidism AND Menopause....this becomes a slowed, overweight, 1 cylinder automobile!! 🤪 However, your details of differences are awesome! Thanks...this helps!! Maybe if conventional doctors saw menopause as a disease or deficiency state, it would be treated properly. But then again, DM2 and Hashimoto’s (for many, many folks) are not treated properly either.

So I just heard about your channel. I entered menopause this year at 56. IUD placed in 2020 to address severe menorrhagia caused by multiple fibroids. I did not want surgery and was still in perimenopause per my FSH levels. Still have the IUD in place (Mirena so there's no estrogen component and my Gyn cleared me to have one even given my mutation mentioned below). I haven't had it removed yet. I also have the Factor II (Prothrombin G20210A) mutation which means I am significantly more at risk for blood clots (DVT/PE/CVA) and thus cannot ever safely take HRT to my knowledge. My mother lived to age 84 smoking EVERY day from the time she was in her 20s. Her mother never smoked and made it to 92 and several individuals in my maternal grandmother's side of the family made it into their 100s. I've lost 77lbs in the past year (thanks to successful spinal surgery) and work out 6-8x weekly. I'm also pescatarian or lacto-ovo vegetarian. Is there something I don't know here? Most of my menopause symptoms have gone away since I lost all the weight because now I'm running cold most of the time instead of my usual hot. My hair is thinner but may partially be from the Mounjaro I've been taking for type II DM (now reversed). Dyspareunia has killed my sex drive likely due to all of those age-related changes which wreak havoc on our body parts lol.

All my aunts and my mom died of heart and or stroke problems related to HRT and my 2 grandmothers who ate well and got theirs thru diet lived to be 94 an 97 so I am following their lifestyles at 56 I have lots of sex drive and no health problems take no meds an very healthy. Everyone if different so you do what works for you for sure just saying this is working well for me.

Hello dr. Taylor! I am very new to your chanell. I just watched your video with Hot&Flashy and have decided to check more of your videos. Thank you for great video! I have so many questions and I am not sure if you have a time to answer that. I live in Sweden, I am 48, I workout regularly for 10 years, I eat healthy, I never was overweight. I have two children ( I got my son at 24, my daughter at 29, they both were breast fed for a long time -son for 8 month, daughter for 2 years!). I give birth quite easy and myself, without any issues or pain killers. Well my mom had four of us without any help, why can't I? When I was breastfeeding my daughter for two years, I got my period lasting for 10 days with no stop. Well I went to my ginecologist (I was visiting her regularly every six month since I got pregnant for a first time), she checked with ultra sound and said that there is something with one of my egg, she suggested me to go to a hospital and check some more. I did so and doctor told me to prepare for a surgery. I was shocked and I was breastfeeding (only at night at that point, but still it was an issue for me). Doctor who did surgery told me after that it was a very complicated surgery (if I remember well, it was diagnosed endometriosis) and they did not expected that once they opened my stomatch. It took 4 hours to remove one egg and a part of my intestine, because of the inflamation inside. I was shocked because I didn't feel anything! Tha't because I was breastfeeding,-said doctor. So my time to have more babies was finished (thank God I had two already!) and doctor was thinking to remove my uterus as well, but thank God he changed his mind, because I would have menopause at 29 already! I was in the hospital for one week, barely could walk with a deep cut in my lower stomach part, but my issue was much deeper with...a milk, running all over and my breasts exploding! I was wrapped in sheets and took a medicine for a week to stop that milk factory! =)) I didn't had any problems since then, but a year ago I got my period again for 10 days and I got very scared. I went to a hospital emergency room to see a ginecologist. It was a new person as I live in another country now, he said that I had mioma and polyps which has to get out, nothing serious. He also said that it could be good for me to start using estrogens,so I can prolong my menopause start. I didn't wanted to take any at that time, because I thought that it's too early for me, my mom started menopause at 53 or so. This year I have noticed that my periods becoming less predictable (when and how long), but no other signs which you have described in this video. I got again 10 days period and doctor prescribed me the progesteron Provera (together with a tranexamin acid), which did not helped actually. I was reading a lot and found out that estrogen can help and I bought natural one from soy and I swear to God, I just took one pill and everything stopped! I continue taking for three days or so as I didn't know if I should continue, if I needed regularly now or not, I didn't wanted to use something what I have no idea how it works and do I really need it as I am not taking any other drugs whatsoever. After I learned that it works once my period becomes too long or too early, I can actually regulate my periods by taking estrogen pills when I need it. I wonder now, is that a sign you were talking about when a lamp starts blinking? Should I start taking it regularly or what? I don't really have my gynecologist here to ask, what should I do? Thank you in advance for taking your time to read all this, I didn't realised that it will be so long! Sorry!

Welcome aboard to "Menopause Taylor University." You'll find that if you start at the very first video (going by the number after each title), you'll understand absolutely everything. And you'll be shocked at what you didn't know, and delighted that you now do know. Each video builds on the last. It's just like school: You had to learn the alphabet before you could read. And nowadays, there are so many overwhelming misconceptions that women mistake as facts ... that you just don't know what you don't know. I respond to all comments here on RU-vid daily. So, I will answer all your questions ... but I'll also know if you aren't watching the videos in order. (I'm like your mother. I have eyes in the back of my head!) And if you need me to help you tailor anything to your personal situation, you can schedule a one-on-one consultation at MenopauseTaylor.ME any time. This is precisely the kind of thing for which I do one-on-one consultations. You definitely need one. No two women are alike, and addressing your situation requires tailoring all the facts specifically to YOU. I'm in the business of educating you about everything you need to know and do in order to get exactly what you want for managing your menopause your way. So, here's how a consultation works: 1) You would schedule a one-on-one consultation at my website, MenopauseTaylor.ME, choosing a time that is convenient for you. I do consultations on Skype, FaceTime. Facebook Messenger, What’s App, and the phone. 2) I would send you an email to confirm that you are scheduled for the stated time, and invite you to send me as much information about yourself as you please. You can make it brimming with details and tell me about your reproductive life, any gynecologic problems you've had, your symptoms of peri-menopause, and your symptoms of post-menopause. You can include all your fears, concerns, and goals for your menopause management. You may also send me any labs, mammogram results, bone density results, etc. that you would like me to include in designing your protocol. If you want to adhere to a certain category of management options (herbs or diet & lifestyle, or whatever), you should tell me that. I will give you a 5-day deadline for sending all materials, and will not accept anything after that date. 3) I'll get busy creating a document that gives you all the education you need to understand absolutely everything, points out the pros and cons of each option, and tailors it all to YOU, using the information you have provided. The document will be loooooong. Most are over 30 pages. 4) I will send you the document by email 72 hours before your consultation. You will benefit greatly by reading it in advance. Light bulbs will go off like crazy, and if you're like most women, you'll feel that you've already gotten your money's worth. 5) During your consultation, we will review the document and address any issues you want in order to fine tune everything and determine your best options. I'll tell you exactly how to find the right kind of professional, how to have the conversation in order to get what you want, and the nuances of things like guidelines and insurance. I leave nothing unaddressed. 6) You will go to a professional of your choosing in order to get the actual hormones or whatever you choose to use. 7) After the first consultation, I'll hold your hand (forever if you want me to). In other words, you'll be able to schedule mini-consultations (30-minute, in addition to full consultations) whenever you need to. I'll keep records of your situation. Most women schedule mini-consultation whenever they go to the doctor and don't understand what he or she said, or why. I translate. I make sense of everything. Most schedule mini-consultation whenever they have a new test and they want me to explain the results. And all schedule mini-consultation whenever their situation changes and they need to re-weigh and re-balance their options. The time you spend with me will make everything about working with any other professional so easy. And they will love the fact that you have an actual education rather than a bunch of misconceptions that you got from the Internet. If your initial hormone regimen is not right, you'll want to consult with me before going to your doctor. I can prepare you for what to expect and what to request. So, that's my role. And nobody else on earth does this kind of thing but me. So, I hope you schedule a consultation and let me hold your hand (figuratively). I hope to meet you soon!

Bev, You should seriously consider having a consultation with me. All too often, the wrong doctor has cautioned you against HRT for the wrong reasons. It's so important for you to know all the fact, weigh all the benefits and risks as they apply TO YOU, and then make a decision. That's what we'll do in a consultation. And, if you are not a candidate for HRT, we'll find other ways for you to compensate for estrogen loss. There's just too much at stake to forfeit the opportunity to assess your options carefully. This is called "breakthrough bleeding," and it means that the balance between your estrogen and progesterone is not quite right. You may need a biopsy of the lining onside your uterus, but most likely will find that it's normal and be able to adjust your hormones accordingly. Hi Barbie. Love you. I assume you will fill us in on this . But knowing that your GP is never gonna send you a reminder to " check out whether we need HRT or not. Will the guessing game continue. Like I have said before , I had to guide my doctor along the peri menopause route with your book . So will it be down to me to tell my doc as to when I want HRT ? Why don't doctors keep a check on you for menopause like they do with smear tests etc. ? I get letters regular from my GP to come in for a " scrape" - lol ! Why so such disinterest in menopause ? My pal ( who is older than I , ) apparently confirmed that her symptoms were menopause with her Doc , then said " okay that's fine , now I know what it is I don't want to take any meds. " And that was it . Do I assume her symptoms were few and bearable ? , She is like me and has never had any children , which I hear can be one of many reasons for you change to be " bad " . I love you , look forward to seeing you next week beautiful lady xxxx Sally

Unfortunately, ever since the WHI study results were announced in 2002, women have been terrified of hormones. And since women are terrified, doctors just take a hands-off attitude. It s a real shame. There is so much misinformation and hype out there, and that's all women seem to hear. So, they scare each other to death. Women tell me that they thought their doctor was trying to poison them when they offered them HRT. So, this is a vicious cycle and the only losers are women who never learn the facts. Menopause is not about the symptoms. It's about the disease that result from estrogen loss. That's why I make these videos. I want you to know the facts so that you can do whatever you prefer with full knowledge.

Hi Dr. Taylor. I hope you can help me. I had been on hrt for about a year, and i started getting some bleeding off and on. The drs did a uterine biopsy(very, very painful, no pain control or sedation used!) and a trans vaginal ultrasound, and found multiple small fibroids, 6 mm endometrium, and disordered proliferative phase endometrium. They did NOT find any hyperplasia, atypia, polyps, or chronic inflammation. (endometritis) Since the biopsy, i have been off of hrt, and have had no bleeding. I already have osteoporosis, and have alzheimers in the family. (Uncle). Now, they wont give the hrt back to me!! Do i have to stop hrt because i have disordered proliferative endometrium? Im only 53. I dont want to live the rest of my life in an estrogen deficient state. I have no family history of breast or uterine cancer, and dont smoke.

Quick question, how long after initiating HRT (specifically Estrogen) will i start seeing the "superficial" benefits like improved skin texture and dryness, brain fog, hair loss, vaginal atrophy? I got relief from night sweats and hot flashes in one day, i don't know if that means i was realllly deficient or just a good responder. But my hair is falling out and while relatively wrinkle free, my skin is really starting to show dryness, crepey texture, etc. While vain, i'd like to stay as young looking as possible while also addressing heart disease, alzheimers, etc. ALSO, do you RX when you do consulting? Or do we take the information to our doctors and hope they will RX? Thanks again so much for all your effort and what you do for us, i will be referring women to your channel, i feel sorry for all the misinformation out there and how women are suffering.

You should notice improvement in all your symptoms within 3 weeks of starting HRT. You'll notice some right away (like sleeping better). Others will take longer (like smoother skin). I do not write prescriptions due to the fact that I am no longer actively practicing medicine. Instead, I teach full time. So, I'll teach you all the ins and outs of communicating with your procedure and getting what you want. I'll tell you their limitations and you'll know how to avoid frustration in working with various professionals. A one-on-one consultation will give you way more than you can imagine.

Thanks for your reply! I don't know if you addressed this in another video (i probably forgot) but what to do about vaginal atrophy? I was on Estradiol 1 mg for about 6 months and then went off due to misinformation from holistic community to take Progesterone. After being off Estradiol for about 3 months and all symptoms returning, i am now on it again THANKS TO YOU (been 1.5 weeks). When i was on the Estradiol for 6 months, i STILL had vaginal atrophy and even was using Estrace cream daily for about a month but to no real effect. My symptoms are not pain during sex but afterward (and not EVERY time but probably 1/2 the time) kind of a burning soreness inside and even sometimes on the vulva. My husband and i do use lube, he washes his hands before sex and our sessions are not long! I am using a DHEA cream that had hoped would work, i do use internal moisturizers and suppositories (i don't really feel dry, just kind of a burning for a couple days afterward but not during sex). Menopause Barbie, i am AFRAID and i don't know what to do especially after being on Estradiol 1 mg and Estrace (for a month, during last Fall, not recently). I am afraid of what is going on and that i won't be able to have sex with my husband soon. Thankfully it doesn't happen every time but it does often enough. Should i try a different vaginal suppository? Thank you for any help!

The vagina is very selfish about estrogen. It often wants more than any other part of your body. That's why there are vagina estrogen products (like vaginal creams, vaginal pellets) that confine themselves to your vagina and do not distribute estrogen to any other part of your body, Many women needs these products in addition to an estrogen product that does distribute estrogen throughout your body (like oral estrogen). I won't get to the videos dedicated solely to vaginal atrophy for a long time. I've only covered the vagina in general terms thus far. The problem with these videos is that you get the education so slowly. It's unlike my two-day seminar, in which you get the entire education in just two days, which allows you to connect all the dots and know absolutely everything you need to know. I can only cover a little piece of information in each video.

I was on estrogen replacement during menopause when a friend's mother told me she never did that, but her 3 sisters did. She said they all died of cancer, and she was the only one alive because she didn't do estrogen replacement. She told me to get off of it immediately. It scared me so I did. However, a few years later I tried it several times, but kept having bleeding problems so stopped. I do not have health problems and do not have to take prescriptions of any kind. I do have a few of the symptoms you mentioned (insomnia and feeling tired a lot). I will be 76 in November, and wondering if it's too late to try replacement again.

Brilliant video. I had menopause at 50, and had full bilateral hysterectomy at 53 (6 weeks ago) due to growing cyst on one of theovary and few fibroid. Surinder, Most GPs know very little about menopause. And, given the fact that your entire future depends on your menopause management in a manner that will serve your need for the long term, I think there is no doubt that you should schedule a consultation with me. I will give you all the facts and then you cause them as you please to manage your menopause. But your current guidance by your GP is greatly lacking. For instance, if you want to adhere to a certain category of management options (herbs or diet & lifestyle, or whatever), you should tell me that. In other words, you'll be able to schedule mini-consultations (15-minute or 30-minute, in addition to full consultations) whenever you need to.

Krista, If you live in North America, go to menopause.org. That's the North American Menopause Society. Once you're at the website, click on the tab "For Women." Then click on the pull-down menu item "Find a Menopause Practitioner. Then put in your zip code. It will show you all the menopause specialist near you. These are professionals who specialize in menopause. So many of the physicians (and other professionals) helping women manage their menopause have a "hand's-off" approach that is based on extrapolation of all the data. There's a huge difference in YOU having had an estrogen-dependent cancers YOURSELF versus someone in your family having had one. There is absolutely no rule or guideline that says YOU shouldn't take estrogen because someone ELSE had some disease. That's just taking today too far and depriving you of both quality of life and future health. Estrogen alone DOES cause uterine cancer. Thats precisely why you take progesterone with it. It has nothing to do with family history. There is no proof that estrogen cause either breast or ovarian cancer. In fact, women who take estrogen without progesterone (because they no longer have their uteri) have lower rates of breast cancer than those who take it with progesterone. Unlike uterine cancer, estrogen fails all the tests of causation for breast cancer. Find a menopause specialist. Come to my seminar or buy the seminar on DVD. You need the whole story.

@MenopauseTaylor
@MenopauseTaylor 4 года назад
I am so sorry, Kimberly. Your situation is uncommon. Most women have heart attacks because they are nit taking HRT. The real issue is timing: If you START taking HRT soon after losing your estrogen it prevents a heart attack. If you STARR taking estrogen late (more than 5 - 10 years) after losing your estrogen, it can cause a heart attack. Your situation is odd in that you were so young at the time of your heart attack AND that you had started taking HRT at the time you lost your estrogen. Hello! Happy found your channel. I would like your advise for someone Who is probably too late. I already have osteoporosis with estrogen of 5. My family doctor said that the number was normal for my age 67. Can you please give me some guidance? Thanks.

Dr barbie, love nd regards I m taking thyroxine hormone since 2011 nd it has given back nd saved my life. Deficiency or excess of any harmone can make u crazy . But there is no fear or risk associated with thyroxine hormone . Menopause without a doubt is an oestrogen deficient state but there is fear nd risk of cancer nd stroke attached to oestrogen replacement. That is where the problem lies. WHI study has done a lot of disservice for women . Thats really sad.

You're right, Pooja. The problem is that you have never gotten all the information you need to make an adequate assessment of HRT. That's why I present the facts to you. You'll benefit a lot from video 98.

Wow all this information is great. I wish I had all this information 10 + years ago. I am 64 and haven’t really had a lot of issues until the last few years. Insomnia, irritability and just not feeling my best. I have had a saliva test done and my estrogen is 1.6. I am past my window so can’t take advantage of taking HRT for these diseases but maybe it could help with the symptoms I have. Is it still worth looking in to?

Thank u so much Dr. Yes I still have uterus. I'll stick to your advice. But , I still have personal problems. I'm 54 yrs old and I did not know anything about menopause until I watch your videos ,than I realise what was going on in my body. It is severe.Yes , I tried to excersise. The problem is that no one talks about this in our culture.

You are not alone No one talks about this in most cultures. That' the problem. That's precisely why I make these videos. Women deserve to have this education. It's not fair that it's so unavailable. I'm going to change all that.

I think to take it now. I had a huge fibroid removal and hysterectomy and menopause/ hot flashes started two weeks after surgery with a vengeance. I wasn’t ready for that. It’s a little over a year and my hot flushes slowed down a bit however, I now have fingers stiffness while sleeping. 😳

Any advice for me please. Oestrogen has made me very bloated and my GP has suggested that I may feel better off it (which I admit, after a week without, I am) but I do worry about the long term consequences. Should I try Soya? All advice welcome for supplements etc as I also have thyroid disease (underactive) and the medication stopped working sufficiently whilst on HRT. Xx
