The Service Corps sounds more like what a Jedi should be than the Jedi Knights.

Imagine beaing a Jedi-Master, training your Padawan for 15 years. You have experienced so much together and you are so proud. But they fail the trial and chose to stick around. Must be really awkward seeing them later, mopping the floor of the Temple halls.

I was wondering about that myself. I'm watching Attack of the Clones right now and Anakin's complaining that Obi-Wan doesn't think he's ready for the Trials. I thought "Well, why not just let him try? If he fails, he'll get to try again, and it might humble him a little." But I guess there are no second chances in the Jedi Order!

Although Star Wars materials aggressively avoid being drawn into discussions of technology and futuristic “science” there must also be some Service Core members who requisition, develop, and maintain technology such as Jedi starfighters for the Order.

Also weren't there two random guys dressed in red that showed up with Qui-Gon and Obi piloting their red cruiser ship at the start of The Phantom Menace? I thought I heard they were part of the Jedi Diplomatic Corps and I imagine they could have been those in charge of overseeing maintenance and administration. Also there were regular soldiers with guns and red uniform who were present inside the temple in Battlefront 2 and I think ep.III called temple guards but I don't know where they fell in the Jedi hierarchy or if failed apprentices were part of the group.
@the_corvid97
@the_corvid97 3 года назад
@@lazyc0mmander277 The ship crew I think worked directly for the Republic, i could be wrong though. Most of the material I've read refers to the ship as belonging to the Republic itself rather than the Jedi Order.

@lazyc0mmander277 3 года назад
@@the_corvid97 Thanks, I think you're right. Though when you think about it, it's kinda dumb that the Jedi don't have at least some of their own people working those jobs. You'd think politic, diplomatic negotiations and competent administration would be complex enough to make this important.

Question: Looking at the technological advancements over the 20-30 years from the end of the Clone Wars to the Remneant era, what would you say is the level of technological advancement or regression in the sophistication of battle droids from the B series (and others) of the Separatist Alliance and of the Imperial Remnants Darktroopers. Basically where did the Empire do good and where did they fall hopelessly behind? We saw how their cloning knowledge was disastrous given their short sightedness in the destruction of Kamino, and with them turning public opinion against droids and wiping droids away from any service aside from basic security, how much did they have to relearn once they were on the defensive and needed to become reliant on these droids
@comicop2513
@comicop2513 3 года назад
We haven’t seen the Empire clone once, so I’ve no idea where you got the idea they’re disastrous at it. If you mean Palpatine, it’s near impossible to clone force sensitives, and if you mean Mandalorian, those aren’t clones.
@lazyc0mmander277
@lazyc0mmander277 3 года назад
Well as far as droid soldiers are concerned, the security droids and dark troopers did seem to be improvements already so the empire was possibly staying up to date in that department. But the quality of those droids never was the real strength of the Confederacy. It was rather found in their abilities for mass droid productions, autonomous warmachines like spider or vulture droids and high-end hyperspecialized units like the magnaguards, droidekas, assassins and tactical droids; none of which I think were part of the imperial's military focuses. Although, one kind of droid that was still heavily used were the non-combatant kind so those probably kept being upgraded. And I imagine this would be the situation the remnants would find themselves in as well. So relying on mechanical security forces could only happen if they had or gained access to one that already existed. Otherwise they would have needed control of enough production capabilities with the ability to quickly reassign their production to droid manufacturing; something I don't think a decimated army would possess let alone prioritize over any of their other needs. Anyway these are my guesses. Though this makes me wonder the what would be the situation of the other galactic organizations' armies they were warring with at the time. I also have my own ideas about that but I'll hold them for an other time as this reply is more than long enough already.

Okay I’ve got a question about this very topic: Several of the legends books such as Fatal Alliance make it seem like any Jedi who failed the trials was given the chance to retake them after a period of time? Is that no longer the case or is there more to it then that book suggests?
@michaelramon2411
@michaelramon2411 3 года назад
I feel pretty confident that you can attempt the trials more than once. Failing means that you do not CURRENTLY have the balance, wisdom and skill to be a Jedi knight, but that is no reason to think that further learning, practice and meditation could not fix it. I suspect Service Corps reassignment tends to happen when you've failed three or four times, and your master has a talk with you about how maybe your talents lean in other directions.

I thought the Ahsoka novel described how the Jedi Order was organized.. ??? I read somewhere how each of the temple spires represented a different corp, with the center spire being reserved for the Jedi Council. I have not read any of the material you described in the video.

Something tells me that the ones that failed were often given second or more chances to pass the trials (Unless the Jedi were that stuck-up) even if they signed up for other jobs in the Jedi order. In fact, if anything, those that failed and continued to study, might actually be better Jedi than the ones that first passed them.

Why didn't the Jedi or Sith use Mandalorian steel Armor to protect themselves from light-sabres and blasters? You'd think that either faction would employ Mandalorian steel Chain Mail, Brigandine, or plate armor to stave off the threat of a slash or stab. Besides lightsaber wielders, why didn't militaries or other faction plate or fabricate their weaponry, armor, and vehicles in said material to reduce or entirely remove the threat of blasters and lightsabers all together?

Personally I see 3 possibilities: 1) they survived & are hiding like other survivors, 2) they’re all dead, 3) only Gungi & Katoonie survived while the others perished near the end of the clone wars

I totally agree. A show about a jedi healer would be so interesting. Or about a crechemaster or the battlemaster. Or yeah the agricorps seeing them working with the living force and providing aid to people around the galaxy. Seeing how they still use the force in their lives and likely have a deeper connection to the force than most knights. And likely the most exciting the explorer corps - travelling the unknown regions, discovering artifacts and ancient sites - kinda like doctor aphra. Could introduce feemor I think he was part of that corps. Plus any of these could be set at an earlier time in the timeline.
