Toren's story makes you wonder why he's the "Fist of the Angels", I get the sense the story writers are just given a first name and artwork for these tertiary characters and go from there.

Flavourfully, I understand Odric's fall. Mechanically they did him absolutely dirty. In my (frankly biased) opinion, the card should work in reverse, as a sink for blood tokens not a generator of them. Sacrifice blood: get keywords. It's feels more Odric to use blood to help others fight the terrors of night rather than spill (make) blood of others. At the end of the day I still love Odric and can't wait for Innistrad 4 to see what he's up to.

Weren't we supposed to get a fifth story? I could almost swear they said in the article for the new legends of crimson vow that they'd make a story about Grolnok and Toxrill

Odric's story is the one I already knew. Had to know my poor boy's fate.

My only issue with this vist to innistrad was Geist of saint traft was no where to be found. Instead we got a bad card that copys what he did. I could not help but laugh when the vampire is trying to get Henrika's attention saying something is wrong then exploding best part of the story lol. Great video as always!!!

Love Odric's story, can't wait to see what might happen with him going forward. Any and all repetition aside. (To answer the sponsor prompt, the fleeces look pretty great, that's probably what I'd get )

As someone who is only recently getting back into Magic, (and of course spending far too much money on packs for the new Innestrad) I absolutely LOVE the lore content you bring to the table. Thanks for all the videos and you can bet I’ve been binging all your other videos to make up for lost time. Personally, I am loving the hoodie, so even if I don’t snag the card, I’m definitely going to be grabbing that guy now that I know it exists.

The biggest reveal of this whole video was learning Ryan Gomez is a fellow Texan.

Whats honestly really sad is we don't get more story for Grolnok and Toxril. In their flavor text and minor expanded lore its apparent that the two creatures each of their own cult that raises them to be powerful natural gods to eventually beset them on the other. That to me, speaks of potential hilarity. Also the fact that Old Rutstein is "just" a human peasant yet has legendary status which begs the question why.

I wonder if there’s a way for all of Innistrad’s inhabitants to cohabitate. We now have Odric, a vampire who represents and fights for humans, Thalia, a human who bonds with the Geist of Saint Traft and recognizes the importance of the spirits of the plane, Arlinn, who seems to making headway as far as peace between Werewolves and humans, and even have Olag now- a sentient zombie, who is kind and gentle. If I were writing the innistrad block, I’d have things start to look up for the plane as they begin to work together, with evils like Ormendhal or the other demons trying to sow discord, devils still making mayhem, and Gisa, Geralf and the various stitchers and ghoul-callers have some dastardly scheme planned. And of course, emrakul is always looming… I think there is a lot of potential here. A time for change in innistrad.

If a simple "hoodie" is all you need to stay warm, then you're not really "cold." You're "chilly" at worst. TRUE cold requires a jacket, gloves, and a wool cap, at the very least! Canada says hi.

I opened my 4th copy of Odric on arena today, and I was thinking he's not a good magic card (and wasn't buffed in alchemy for some reason?) but at least he has a decent backstory. And then this video tells that actually his story has already been done before with Arvad. I'm just feeling real salty at this card okay.

Two Innistrad sets in a world where the world is plunging into eternal night and they don't explore what might be going on with the Eldrazi titan in the moon even in a side story? I understand wanting to get back to a more status quo Innistrad but I was hoping for at least a teaser of what Eldrazi might be to come.

What is Odric and Arvad (perhaps a few others) teamed up to be a fighting group. Perhaps it's a group of religious individuals who's faith protects them each for an evil force forever temping them to fully give in.

Chilly in Texas? You were in New York a couple years ago! You should be wearing shorts this time of year! I was hoping for a reference of Into the AM tying into the eternal night being lifted from Innistrad. Daybound? There's a joke in there somehwere... I feel like the lore as a whole was really bad for a few years and it's getting better. The side stories for this set felt very Innistrad to me and though I'm not the biggest fan of the gloomy and dark theatrics of the plane, they did help me to get a bit more into the set. I preferred the spice of Sorin getting pummeled by Edgar though.

Nah, no thanks, Kamigawa is way too alien from real MTG lore. Credits, tablets, holograms, nope I'll pass completely I may be bitterly annoyed that we didn't get any new legendary werewolves (like were-nurse) or side stories for them but Odric's story was so good

Innistrad is one of the only MTG settings that strikes close to the classic tone of original magic (before shitty boring villains like bolas got reintroduced). I appreciate innistrads nearly hopeless and bleak uphill struggles (hate the eldrazi crap though)
