The US Presidential election is just around the corner, which nobody is looking forward too, but it also means Trump might get elected. So, I thought I would share my opinion about the election and the possible outcome. Will Trump get elected and continue to pressure China? Or will Biden get re-elected and continue on the same path?
Leave a comment below and share your thoughts on the upcoming election. How will it change the China-US relationship?

Japan didn't lose its mojo and then experienced the lost decade. the empire asked and the Japanese willingly complied the Plaza Accord. i was shocked Jeffrey Sachs said that on THE DURAN. you can do a search on the Duran to find that episode. have you ever wondered why nobody identified who destroyed NS1 & NS2?

It was a good laugh when China analysts said that Biden would be a boon in China- American relations. The hard truth is that not a single elected American president would be any good. Remember the maxim: Both sides of the coin are still the same coin. It's time geopolitical analysts be critically frank rather than to project naivety and niceties in their analysis.

the chinese people in general supports trump more than biden because of a few reasons: 1. trump is a meme in china 2. trump does little to cover up the country's capitalistic nature by using the so called western "democracy", "human rights", etc. So the democrats seem more hypocritical from a chinese pov 3. trump in his last term focused more on economic sanctions on china, where as biden pushes for a militaristic, political containment on china with the help of its allies, e.g. japan, korea, philippines, etc. and the chinese ppl prefer regional stability and no war, so that the chinese economy can take over the us 10 years in the future.

Two old men, one on the edge of dropping off the side of a hole in the ground, the other not that far behind, but both trying to re-live their youth in an old man's husk of a shell. Biden going around wearing sunglasses and a baseball cap, talking in slangs as though he is some twenty-year old. Trump waddling on his platform shoes around sucking in his belly while publishing those "godawful" computer generated art of himself as "Rocky Balboa" and "Rambo". Competing on a level playing field has never been an American government objective, other than just another US optic. A level playing field is only pursued for anything when the US has all the advantages. Never otherwise.
@jonathandewberry289
@jonathandewberry289 3 месяца назад
really? The USA and Trump in particular welcome and request a level playing field. Here's two requests: - the USA does not require a Chinese company to partner with an American company. Vs China requires an American company to partner with a Chinese one in China. The USA WELCOMES China ending that rule so that its even and equal. - China puts a huge "Shelf Tax" (see... its not a Tariff hee haww... so clever hee ahha China smart! trick you!) but the USA hasn't. The USA welcomes and is HAPPY to have China remove those and thus have a level even playing field. Hmm? Come on then, thought you wanted a level playing field? - Huawei and others do not have to compete. They get MASSIVE and actually 'unlimited' government funding. It's why they can sell 5G towers for less than 'cost'. The US hasn't been doing that. Apple does not have an unlimited govt funding subsidy so it can't fail in any market, can sell iPhones for less than cost. The USA would WELCOME China to stop doing that and by all means let them go head-to-head in a level even playing field. Oh...what? Oh now you're suddenly not so smart-mouthed and cocky about level playing fields are you?

Neither party can stop the long-term decline of the US. There are many policies which would help the US. Unfortunately, if anyone proposes them, they get shut down by the other party to score political points. Other countries will attempt to make trade deals, either with BRICS or through bilateral relations. The US will become more isolated, and de-dollarization will end US hegemony. Politicians in the US can slow down or accelerate the process but will not stop it.

As someone from Europe who learned political terms already in school I'm always confused how Americans use words like "conservative" or "liberal". I mean, Trump is for sure bot conservative, he stands for radical changes while big corporations are more conservative and not liberal as these companies want to conserve, to keep the current system. And then the illusion there would be such a big difference between two parties owned by big corporations ..
@BTin416
@BTin416 3 месяца назад
The entire western system is broken. Capitalism will only enrich the very top and there's nothing that will stand in its way of abuse of workers and people in that end and cause. It doesn't matter if Biden or Trump lead, it doesn't matter if its the liberal or the conservative. They argue over social policy (e.g. gender signs on bathrooms and abortion) to enrage voters into voting for the two parties. At the end of the day, their governance is largely the same. Until westerners snap out of this distraction, we'll continue to lose. NOT to say those issues are unimportant at all, but they allow western politicians to skirt the major issues of rent, housing, health care, etc. The poor Americans have no real rent control measures pretty much anywhere, their system is totally bought off in favor of large capital investors. Here in Canada we see the same problem: Liberals and Conservatives that tend to win at the ballot box, voters willing to pretend there's some grave difference between them, and workers lose out. The last Conservative government in Canada raised full retirement to age 67 from 65. Now people have forgot how horrible that type of government is, and are getting tired of Trudeau (who has done nothing substantive, although he did lower the age of full retirement back to 65 thankfully) and will make the same mistake again soon to install a Con gov't. IMO raising the retirement age should have bankrupted the Conservative party's support into the dustbin of history for good (one of the reasons Trudeau won in 2015), and this is in no way a support of the Liberals or Trudeau in saying it. Yet here we are, 2024, and polls suggest that party will form next government come next election. My my, how westerners blood lust after failed political parties and movements, and love to go through this torture again! LOL Western countries all do this: public all too willing to put these goofs back into power, expecting change, then nothing but high housing costs and inflation to show for it. Getting westerners to step outside this conservative-liberal-socdem capitalist sandbox is difficult. I suppose it will have to get much, much worse for change to happen. Europe is diseased with the same politics. Ever seen UK Labour or Germany's SPD have a true workers stance? They never do. They're loyal to capitalism, they won't control housing costs or other items of importance. SPD in Germany now has power, and they're sending funds to Israel to bomb Palestine. The SPD is no workers' party and it is no party of the people... So much for a difference from Merkel's tired CDU. All western countries are in a general decline.

No matter who comes into office, things will more than likely just get worse. At least Trump is a businessman first and foremost, whereas Biden is more on playing games or what he believes to be geopolitical strategies. Whatever his plans, you can see similar things happening in a school courtyard.

How do we get better options? What type of influential decision-makers do we need, where should they be positioned, and what actions must they take to get rid of this red vs. blue nonsense? How do we break free from the grip lobbyists and the wealthy have over the USA?

Quite a shame Newsom is not a front runner. Though some say he's a male Harris it'll still be very interesting to see what he'll do as president. But we all know it's not up to the present to make any real decision.

How can US companies compete with Chinese companies when the labor costs here are so high? China really advanced thanks to our companies moving their production there. Now they are buying our land and companies here. Can we buy land or some companies in China?

Across entire USA with 300 million + people, we can not found a few younger, open and more optimistic leaders to run for presidency? How sad it is that we have to choose one from the two old and pessimistic people. USA needs to rebuild and reinvest in itself. We can not afford to waste another 4 years under Trump Administration.

The sad part of it all is the fact that the Americans only have these two candidates to choose from. One of them is only a face of the corporations and the other is just another face of these corporations. Not too much human resources to get confused about who is the best candidate. Just north of the border we have more or less the same situation : one of them broke the country into little pieces to enrich some corporations and the other supports the genocidal Israel. In any case these four North American candidates are a clear reflection of what is going to happen in the international arena. As some religious people use to say in the South : "I hope God catches me confessed". Greetings from Toronto.

The US has been using the Tonya Harding strategy whenever it finds foreign companies over-taking or leading in certain technologies. Toshiba surpassed the US as the world's largest chip supplier. In 1986, Washington issued a 2 to 5 year ban on all Toshiba products, saying the sale to the Soviet union had posed a threat to US national security. Washington targeted Alstom as it became a formidable competitor of General Electric in many countries. In 2013, Frederic Pierucci, Alstom's executive, was arrested by police at NY airport for authorizing bribes to Indonesian officials to secure a contract. Several other Alstom's top managers were arrested in the US on bribery charges. In 2014, GE reached an agreement with Alstom to purchase Alstom's power and grid businesses, dismembering the global industrial giant. Huawei CFO Meng Wanzhou was arrested in Vancouver in 2018 on Trumped-up charges. Neither the US nor Canada has offered clear evidence to support the US allegations against Meng.
